christinelee Posted August 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2018 Priority Ship to Shore Tender Embarkation As a well-traveled guest with Princess, you have the opportunity to travel ashore quickly and without waiting in line in our tender ports. What does that mean to you as an elite member. One way (off of the ship to shore) Or both ways (from shore back to the ship)
ltcal94 Posted August 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2018 Priority is only from ship to shore . There is no priority tender line back to the ship . Sent from my iPhone using Forums

What does that mean to you as an elite member. One way (off of the ship to shore) Or both ways (from shore back to the ship) Only tendering into a port but not returning to the ship. We get to join the back of the line without a tender ticket or with many elites have to get a tender ticket but with a shorter wait for the tender. moki'smommy Posted August 8, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We've rarely had to wait for a return tender. Usually when we arrive, there is one loading. As soon as it is reasonably full, it heads back to the ship. We don't plan on being on the last tender of the day, but on others....little or no wait. Off the ship...we went to the meeting point with our tender tickets and were also issued a numbered ticket and directed to the front of the line. Everyone in the room got onto the next tender, so there was really no priority there either. If there had been excess people, we would have been on the first tender while "non-priority" people would have been kept waiting.
memoak Posted August 8, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We have always just gone to the end of the tendering line and gotten on the next available tender
Astro Flyer Posted August 8, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We have always just gone to the end of the tendering line and gotten on the next available tender That’s routinely been our experience but two of our cruises on the Royal with 1200 & 1500 elites required tender tickets. They had another entrance to the dining room for elites & the wait to board was shorter before being escorted to a tender.
gdisney Posted August 8, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We got back from the Grand Saturday; I was with my parents who are Elite. The only tender port was Juneau, and we got to the dining room where tickets were being handed out when they first opened. They didn't actually give us tickets, and just said we could just wait off to the side. But ultimately they just called anyone who was waiting to go down to the tender, so being Elite made no difference. Too bad they don't have priority boarding on the return; it was a 30 minute wait in the sun to board a return one later that day. I got a little sunburned... paul929207 Posted August 8, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 8, 2018 Sorry, no priority for the return trip to the ship. This would be a nice perk to add for the Super Elite if/when they add a new category.
casofilia Posted August 8, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We've rarely had to wait for a return tender. You haven't been to St Peter Port in Guernsey then!!!!! We had a "last tender" 1pm and departure 2pm. We arrived at the tender area from a shorex at 12.30pm and finally got a tender at 3pm!!!!! It was a really hot summer day and they did not provide any water cold towels nor shade. What was worse was that the M&G was at 3pm!!!!! Caveat emptor!! skynight Posted August 8, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 8, 2018 On most ships during peak tendering times elites have to report to the DR where all others report. They are placed in queue for the next tender out.
Mike45LC Posted August 9, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 9, 2018 I am happy that Moki's Mom has not had a long wait for the tender to return to the ship, but my most frequent tender port is Cabo (Mex Riviera). There, the line for the return tender is always long in the hot sun, even an hour or more before the "last tender" time. It would be great if Elites had some priority, but it might lead to riots!! sunsetbeachgal Posted August 9, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 9, 2018 .... but it might lead to riots!!No "might" about it!!! VBG Agree! We had two long slow moving tender return lines on our British Isles cruise in June. It would imagine that it could have been ugly if people were able to cut in the front of the line! land lover Posted August 9, 2018 #15 Share Posted August 9, 2018 A rewrite would give some clarity to the statement. I have been on some itineraries were there is no elite priority for tenders leaving the ship. I have experienced many LONG..............................................tender lines to return to the ship.
neverbeenhere Posted August 9, 2018 #16 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Best to wait at the closest bar for the tender line to shrink. No waiting necessary, only drinking!!! At some ports there is not a nearby bar, so one needs to plan for those days.
susancruzs Posted August 9, 2018 #17 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Wow, interesting comment about Guernsey, my worst tender experience ever and that was 2005! As long as I'm not standing in the sun for an hour, no problem waiting for a return trip.
floridalover5623 Posted August 9, 2018 #18 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Sorry, no priority for the return trip to the ship. This would be a nice perk to add for the Super Elite if/when they add a new category. I have never read 1 logical answer as to why this wouldn't be a great perk that Princess could offere to a select few of the upper Elites. Sure, they might be a few people standing on line that might get perturbed but people with say 500, 750 or 1,000 sailing days deserve it and it wouldn't cost Princess a dime. Cabo certainly has hundreds of passengers following your advice, waiting in a nearby bar/cantina for the tender line to shrink. Some of those people need help to get at the end of line, they've been spending so long imbibing!!!!
OCruisers Posted August 9, 2018 #22 Share Posted August 9, 2018 We've been Elite with Princess for a very long time. It doesn't bother us a bit to get at the end of the tender line when returning to the ship from a port of call. :)

Renmar Posted August 10, 2018 #24 Share Posted August 10, 2018 Sorry, no priority for the return trip to the ship. This would be a nice perk to add for the Super Elite if/when they add a new category. This could be easily done. Designate 1 Tender, they run more than 1 anyway, for (super:rolleyes:) Elite and crew (we want our crew back on board to serve us don’t we?;)) with a separate line. When there are no more Elite or crew in that line fill the Tender with the rest of us mortals. The only drawback for the Elite is that they have to wait until “their” tender returns :D. LOL. Been waiting for that for 15 years. Would you go for that? Theo
casofilia Posted August 10, 2018 #25 Share Posted August 10, 2018 Would you then "Push-in" to the Non-elite tender line if you just miss an Elite tender. Sounds like Traditional diners dining in the Anytime restaurant!!
