Bon Voyage Marilyn and Henry, and sleep well tonight.

As January members of the 11268 Club, Katie and I eagerly await your commentary and photos tomorrow, or whenever is convenient for you. We will be interested in hearing how it compares to your last S1 in 10147.

May your embarkment tomorrow have a little less drama than last time and your battle scars (I still think it was LLP in the Martini Bar) heal quickly.

Jeff

Thanks, Jeff. I am watching every step tomorrow. I am so ready to see 11268 to officially claim it for our club!

On the way out on Thursday I returned to the scene of the crime. Watch out for these gold plates on the floor.

I hit the handle on the window frame (next to the suitcase) with my face.

I can’t remember if we told you, but when I first entered Security, a glass bottle rolled out of my tote and smashed on the floor. It sounded like a shot rang out so Security shouted something and the place erupted until they realized it was Perrier. I thought THAT was going to be my interesting story to tell about embarkation....

Yes indeed. Let's hope and wish for a Royal Carpet Treament and an Officer Escort. The self service did not work for our Queen VT last embarkation. And I am certainly not suggesting she get in a navigational vehicle just to get on board earlier or more easily.

She is our AMBASSADOR, and she ranks first in line. Tall and Proud!

No thanks, the first time was embarrassing enough! 😊

I’m sitting on the balcony waiting for the Edge to return. It’s a balmy morning at the port.

The Corl Princess just came in. Here comes another one - doesn’t look like the Edge.....another one coming..... it’s her!!! I can see the EDGE sign - wow!!! Looking through binocs - she is so distinctive! The HAL ship is moving into place and the Edge is waiting .....starting  to move in ....anyone else watching?00E1D46D-059B-48B3-9D79-8B5BAAEEA010.thumb.jpeg.bd7a7d2a129388a036c9efb74affd0eb.jpeg

Thanks!  What phone settings are you using for the free app?  We will not have unlimited Internet.

You don't need to pay for internet to use the app. It is a free service, like going to the Celebrity web page on a ship.

I can definitely see ho you could grip on those floor plates, so klutzy is no longer accurate.  Unlucky, yes, klutzy, no.  It sounds exactly like something I would have done.

Now, the Perrier bottle... well, that is all you. Thankfully, I drink the much lower class type of water that comes in those disgusting plastic bottles, so I would not have to worry about that.  And, if I have occasion to transport my wine or other adult beverages, I have a rolling cooler that goes traveling with me for just that use.  Always took it along to use for my 4 bottles of Bacardi or Kahlua or Bailey's, or whatever we bought along the way.  Learned that lesson a long time ago when trying to carry one of those 4-bottle cardboard cases that almost cuts your fingers off, when the debarkation line stopped on the gangway and took a looooong time to get to the terminal.  Never again!

Have a WONDERFUL time!  Bon Voyage to you and all our Edgies!  I know this will be the best cruise ever for all of you!

Couldn't edit my comment #715, so here is the addition:

And, looking at that photo, I think maybe you were lucky that you did hit the door handle and not the glass, because you might have hit and broken and gone through that huge pane.  That could have actually been much worse.  So, you are on the luckier end of the unlucky scale, IMHO.  Anyway, I am really glad it was not worse, and that you are doing well.  Had another thought this morning... you will surely have at least one black eye, if not two, if you don't already.  That is just what happens in these cases.  You will have to think up a really good story for your friends at work when you get back home.  Maybe you and LLP were in the gym and using those punching bags and she missed and hit you?  I know you can come up with a great one!

LOL! Yes, the bruising is creeping down - luckily the hat covers it so far. I got some comments in the hotel lobby about my Edge hat. They are so excited to get onboard!!

Vtcruising and others that were onboard thank you for your posts, they have gotten us even more excited to get onboard:)

Was wondering if anyone that was onboard got any pictures of the inside of the funky shaped inside cabins attached to I believe a suite. We are really curious what our room will look like. Hoping like the other rooms it will have things like the plug near the bed for CPAP machines.

I will see if that is possible. 😊

Just saw this from SeaWatch's thread:

"We've just hired our third woman captain at Celebrity, which is a big deal," says Lutoff-Perlo. "Captain Kate McCue will be taking over this ship as captain in 2019." (was talking about the Edge)

I will be booking Edge next year, I guess. It sounds like she is a great captain and interacts with passengers, etc.

I hope you are healing well and I want to extend my sincere thanks again for the wonderful updates this past week.  Hope to meet you onboard sometime!

Totally easy check in and now relaxing, waiting for ship to clear.

There is is a Retreat sign - you are directed to that and enter to a small security station. After that you are directed to sit in comfy chairs and someone comes to you with an iPad to check you in. We were checked in by 10:00 -  record for us!

There are lots of drinks and snacks. Will enjoy the suite life while I can.....

When the ship is cleared we can bring our carry ons to our suite and drop them off. Yay! I should have pictures of our digs soon! 😀😞

they are boarding us at 10:30!! So excited!!!!!
