Get your reservations ahead of time. I heard one couple trying to get a reservation for any specialty in the Retreat so they are in a suite.  All sold out! They saved some for packages I assume.  Glad we got ours early ....

I think this ship will recoup investment easily!

VT, How has the service been so far? Some are saying that the service in their suites is underwhelming. I am hoping that is not the case, especially since we all paid so much money but I guess i will find out for myself very soon. Also, have you heard of anyone having issues with dinner reservations? We have a package for our 7 day, and I am hopeful we won't have any issues however, I am prepared to be flexible with date and time. Thank you!

Hi all!

Has anyone been to the casino?  I don't spend a 'lot' of time there (mostly money...), but do like to play a little craps. Also was think of buying some of those free play thingies.

Anyway, what is your impression of it if you've been there, compared to Solstice class casinos.  Any finally, did you notice the table limits?  Want to plan a bankroll for this small portion of my cruise in late Feb.

Thanks in advance,

Singerdon

Milwaukee.

Use the Kelly Hoppen Tom-Tom!

LOL  I think I'll call it "the Hoppen Tom" .

Can anyone tell me what it looks like when the king bed is separated into two twins? Do both side tables go in the middle? Are there electrical outlets to plug in a CPAP on both sides or just one?

Thanks!

accidental premature post. I wasn't finished.

Agree with the comment about wishing there were outlets on both sides of the bed. I often stay awake on my phone after my husband goes to sleep, and we literally just noticed the outlets are on his side but not mine. Oh well - first-world problems for sure!

Hey, VT! C here from Fort Worth, TX. This is my first posting on CC in quite awhile. T & I have spent most of the afternoon & all of this evening catching up on the 21 (!) pages of your Edge preview cruises. You have certainly gotten our mouths watering for the Edge experience. Can hardly wait until out Jan 20th "Edgepedition"!

So sorry to here about your accident but it seems not to have slowed you down at all. I feel so lucky to have seasoned Edgers to show us the ropes in Jan. With all of your postings when do you find time to sleep? I know your DH isn't having any trouble at all sleeping. 😆

Now that we've caught up on your postings maybe we can stay current.

Hi All,

Are the drinks packages the same on Edge as other ships on the cards... are they printed on CALL or PALL or if you purchase them do you get the same stickers as on the other Celebrity ships? Strange question I know but my son loves the stickers.

If anyone has any photos of the cards and drinks package stickers that'd be very much appreciated!

So funny!

Also Bo1953 too, Great Idea.😃

Next time we’re packing our own lounge chair!,

LOL, a reason I recommended this is, someone on the main board sometime ago commented on how they saw a passenger with a recliner in tow off the ship.

I do not know if they were able to get it to their stateroom or not, but thought this is different, bringing your own recliner aboard...

Now if all inhabitants of a particular stateroom knew who would be in that room for six (6) weeks or so, then that would be a wonderful addition... redecorating and new furnishings... That would make X happy... NOT

Yet think it would make a powerful statement, never the less.. LOL

bon voyage

Marilyn,

Have you decided if the ship tends to run cold, hot, or comfortable? I always find the restaurants to be very cold. What’s your opinion?  Need to decide on sweaters. Thanks!

d - it probably would not hurt to pack at least one (1) sweater just in case.

bon voyage

VT complete the hat trick..... you need to do something that will cause security to bring to to the brig. Then we will be nearly complete

Don't EVEN hint at that, or she will do it!  You know our VT... she wants to see and do it all!  I am just glad she boarded safely and got her maple syrup back intact.

Have a fabulous time!

Bon Voyage!

I think you are truly on to something here.  LOL! If a lot of guests start bringing their own loungers, then maybe Celebrity will acknowledge their mistake and start providing them.  I can just see a long line of people with loungers trying to go through the metal detectors.  Even better if it is the Suite line!  That would be a picture worth posting for sure!  Maybe Celebrity would be embarrassed by this on their new luxury ship.  Or then again maybe not.

I was told by X on the phone that they do, indeed, have enough room saved in each specialty for those with the dining packages.  I am not sure how they can do that, but I guess they can (or at least think they can) and do.  I will be interested in reports from others who have the Packages.

There is an outlet and two USB on one side of the bed. It would be nice to have a plug or USB on both sides of the bed  so we could each have one for our phones next to our side of the bed. Otherwise is enough for us!

Hi, I am currently in a S1, there’s a way to have USB charger on both sides of the bed. Do you notice the phone has a USB charge port?  We just move the phone to the other side of the bed where there isn’t an outlet.

Marilyn, I was checking back yesterday when the discussion about the next-to-the-bed outlets was brought up again, and I believe I saw that in the IV Accessible you toured, there were outlets on both sides of the bed.  Do you remember if that was the case?  If so, I think maybe it is because it IS an accessible cabin, but why would they not think regular cabins would need that convenience, too?  Sure, it cost less to only run one set of wires to one outlet box and cover, but jeez... how much could it have cost during construction?  The equivalent of one less pillow?  Or was the extra outlet on the list with the footstools and loungers for the balconies?  Sometimes saving a little has big repercussions, and not in a good way.  I hope X is seeing all these comments and actually noting them for future reference.  Apex is still at the point where these things can be changed without too much trouble.

We’re now docked in Nassau - and I’ll add my two cents worth to VT’s wonderful commentary.

This ship is amazing. New little touches are everywhere, showing Celebrity took care in planning and executing this type of ship. For instance, there are drawer dividers in the larger drawers. Nice to keep things organized if you’re OCD like me. Oh, and those drawers are nice self closing, nice and quiet!

The ship is VERY well designed, and seems much bigger inside than the other ships. The Grand Foyer seems very big to me, nice usage of space. The Oceanview Cafe has wonderful high ceilings. That’s a great improvement over M and S class ships. The usage of some shared, bar-height tables and chairs in Oceanview is very nice, too. Kind of a European thing.

Tuscan restaurant last night was beautiful - the waiter service was fantastic. My prime rib was great, and their signature Tuscan bean soup was amazing.

“The Club” is very fun - seems like video walls were everywhere, people crowded in there, dancing with the performers from the show. We’re going back tonight after our dinner with Le Petit Chef tonight.

I can see why the Rooftop Garden is VT’s chosen hangout. Simply beautiful. Fun furniture that’s tough to get out of! 😜

Sunset Bar also seems much bigger than in other ships - lots of seating.

We have an Infinite Verandah cabin - and the design is wonderful. Again, it seems bigger than normal Verandah cabins. Shower is bigger? Bathroom door closes via magnets! Very cool.

Having the French Doors open in the cabin really makes the cabin bigger - because it is! No step down or up to get on the Verandah, just the hard flooring instead of carpeting makes it seem like the verandah is part of the room, not a different space.

In the cabin, the air conditioning turns off when you have the “window” down. Great to hear the sounds of the sea, but I can imagine it would get hot in the cabin during Caribbean summers.  It also appears that the A/C stays on in the bathroom whether or not the window is open - causing condensation to form on the bathroom mirror, shower door and floor if you have the IV window open. The only real issue with this is the floor being damp if you’re not expecting it - potential slip hazard? There is a slight texture to the tile floor in the bathroom, however, so this probably isn’t a real big issue. It just surprised us.

The IV window, when you have it down, is rather hard to see through. It is designed so the upper glass is behind the lower glass - so now you have two panes of tinted (and in our case) water spotted glass blocking your view, so it’s not the optimal view from the chairs.

This ship is crazy wonderful - Celebrity has really come through with the goods. And very few burps, considering everything is new (including the staff getting used to everything), not withstanding VT’s leak, of course 😁

Looking forward to seeing the rest of this ship!

By the way, in our IV cabin, there are only the two USB outlets on the one side of the bed - and that’s on the same side that the phone is on, so (if you’re keeping score) there are 3 USB charging ports on one side of our bed, ZERO on the other. 🤨
