I can see it now. A Princess promotion. Reserve your seat for this evening’s show at only $ 25. I am surprised they have not thought of this. Maybe it will come one day sooner than later.

Ok, as long as it comes with a $100 no-show charge.

We will be in a suite on the Crown in January. On Norwegian they have a reserved section in the theater for those in suites. Does Princess do anything like that?

No, but they've renamed the Inside and Oceanview cabins as "steerage", and you can order those people to go get you drinks.

They used to make announcements  that there was no saving of seats and members  of the Cruise Director's  Staff would  enforce  this policy , not anymore .

Yes they still do, it’s on a pre record

It's only announced but NEVER enforced unless a person who wants those seats finds a crew member that will interact in their behalf.

Good luck with that approach.

We sailed on a HAL cruise on Super Bowl Sunday. They had reserved the front part of the theater (8 or 9 rows)  for people willing to pay extra for the experience. It came with free beverages, and servers brought people food. (There was a buffet set up in the back for us regular folks.) Very few people opted to pay the extra money. The F&B manager had to keep chasing away people who wandered into those seats.

Have watched the Super Bowl on board Princess ships many times. It's always on MUTS, and may also be in locations like Club Fusion, Vista lounge, Explorer's, Cabin TV. Have never seen it in the theater. It's always free, always open seating, and there are always some kind of snacks. They do sell lots of beverages.

with the recent change in dining times had no problem getting a good seat for the early show at 6:30 on the Grand 5 minutes before show time.

That's almost unheard of for just about all the other Princess ships. For most of production shows it's about 35 minutes unless you don't mind being separated from your spouse.

Agreed!  (Sorry about the duplicate quote -- guess I double-clicked on the quote button and can't see a delete).

We often take a book to read a few minutes in order to have seats we like.

appears largely due to the shift in dining and show time. early show on grand was 6:30 with late at 8:30.

Joybook,

Let’s not give Princess more ideas to Nickel & Dime us. :classic_sad:

Gosh, 8:30 is so early for the late show.  :classic_ohmy:

However, it means that a number of people that would not go to the 9:30 or 10pm show, and thus only went to the 7:30 or 8pm, requiring one to get seats 30 minutes in advance are now willing to go to the late show, resulting in the early show being far less over crowded.

Wonder if that will make the 7:30 or 8pm show far MORE crowded ????.

Whatever, we'll deal with it and hope it works out best for all.  :classic_wink:
