ONBOARD CREDIT QUESTION

Would anyone know if I don't use all my onboard credit, will Celebrity apply the remainder to my bill or will I lose it?

I think it depends whether you have non-refundable or refundable OBC

If it's an obc from your TA and you don't use then yes you will get it returned. Anything from Celebrity has to be used or you will lose it.

Hmm, I'm not sure what kind of OBC it is.  It came as one of the perks offered.  I'm thinking that it probably will expire if I don't use it.

If your OBC is a perk from Celebrity associated with your booking [rather than from your Travel Agent, for instance], it is non-refundable...  Use it or lose it...

 

Your onboard spending [including gratuities if charged daily (not prepaid)] will offset non-refundable OBC until exhausted...

 

If one has both non-refundable and refundable Onboard Credit, the non-refundable allowance is utilized first...

Yes, each day the tips will be applied to the OBC.

The simplest way to explain it is that OBC is a credit against any of your onboard spending (with the exception of Next Cruise Deposits).   They will use it first before billing you for any balance.

Also when your review your account on the TV the Refundable and Non-Refundable will be shown separately and have a designation - either ending in R or N for Refundable and Non-Refundable.

 

You can also ask the cashier and they will let you know.  

 

It is always good to check as I have had an OBC from my agent that was Non-Refundable.   Not sure why.

You can use your OBC from Celebrity in your cruise planner to purchase Beverages Pack, Shore excursion, Specialty dinner, etc.

It is also important to keep track of all of your perks and OBC's.    I have often (like last 3 cruises) had Agent's OBC's not show up and have to work with Michael's Club Concierge to find them and have them applied.
