iluvbkk Posted February 15, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2019 Would anyone know if I don't use all my onboard credit, will Celebrity apply the remainder to my bill or will I lose it?
ben.chan Posted February 15, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2019 I think it depends whether you have non-refundable or refundable OBC

If it's an obc from your TA and you don't use then yes you will get it returned. Anything from Celebrity has to be used or you will lose it. iluvbkk Posted February 15, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted February 15, 2019 Hmm, I'm not sure what kind of OBC it is. It came as one of the perks offered. I'm thinking that it probably will expire if I don't use it.

If your OBC is a perk from Celebrity associated with your booking [rather than from your Travel Agent, for instance], it is non-refundable... Use it or lose it... Your onboard spending [including gratuities if charged daily (not prepaid)] will offset non-refundable OBC until exhausted... If one has both non-refundable and refundable Onboard Credit, the non-refundable allowance is utilized first... iluvbkk Posted February 15, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted February 15, 2019 Thank you for the help...so since I haven't prepaid my tips, the OBC will automatically pay that?
CHEZMARYLOU Posted February 15, 2019 #7 Share Posted February 15, 2019 Yes, each day the tips will be applied to the OBC.

stevea36 Posted February 15, 2019 #10 Share Posted February 15, 2019 The simplest way to explain it is that OBC is a credit against any of your onboard spending (with the exception of Next Cruise Deposits). They will use it first before billing you for any balance.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 15, 2019 #11 Share Posted February 15, 2019 Also when your review your account on the TV the Refundable and Non-Refundable will be shown separately and have a designation - either ending in R or N for Refundable and Non-Refundable. You can also ask the cashier and they will let you know. It is always good to check as I have had an OBC from my agent that was Non-Refundable. Not sure why. Rare cruisestitch Posted February 15, 2019 #13 Share Posted February 15, 2019 This happens when it is a “pass-through” from the cruise line.
gerelmx Posted February 15, 2019 #14 Share Posted February 15, 2019 (edited) You can use your OBC from Celebrity in your cruise planner to purchase Beverages Pack, Shore excursion, Specialty dinner, etc. Edited February 15, 2019 by gerelmx
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 15, 2019 #15 Share Posted February 15, 2019 It is also important to keep track of all of your perks and OBC's. I have often (like last 3 cruises) had Agent's OBC's not show up and have to work with Michael's Club Concierge to find them and have them applied.
