Casino Comp Chick Posted March 1, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) I tried searching but could not find anything. Are there limitations to # off appetizers, entrees, deserts etc? I know it is one restaurant per night but I was wondering if they place limits on what you can order. I will be on the Anthem. Thank you in advance Edited March 1, 2019 by Casino Comp Chick
Clarea Posted March 1, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2019 Unlimited appetizers & desserts, but only one entree.
Foodluvr Posted March 1, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2019 No Hibachi on ships with it. Also, one meal per dining period. Some restaurants have entree limitations like Chops. If it's an extra cost normally, you will pay on the Ultimate. We enjoyed the package on our last cruise and got our $$ worth!

Is it possible to get the Hibachi for an up-charge. I thought I read somewhere that you got $35 credit toward Izumi if you were using a dining plan to book it. Ken at the beach Posted March 1, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2019 I was able to use the UDP at Hibachi on Allure at Christmas for an additional $10pp. We were also able to use it on Oasis last March for no extra charge. Ask on board.
Mallow Posted March 1, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2019 On the Oasis in February, there was a flyer in our cabin that stated we had reservations for UDP the first night at the Izumi Hibachi. We changed it to Izumi Sushi instead for a $35 pp credit instead.
Ralphinsc Posted March 1, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2019 I've seen reports that the UDP does not work at Playmakers on the Symphony.

I've done it on Oasis a few times. They usually predict the night and it has to be the first or second night usually, though last November we were able to use it with Hibachi on the first night and it was either night six or seven of the cruise. You are correct for Izumi they allow you a $35 credit toward al la cart.

SRF Posted March 2, 2019 #11 Share Posted March 2, 2019 It doesn't matter if you are on a plan or just booking the specialty restaurant. The rules are the same. The entree is one per person (some restaurants allow you to have a second for an upcharge). Appetizers, salads, sides, and desserts are unlimited. In Giovanni's, the pasta course is unlimited in my experience.

Since you have to book onboard for UDP anyway, just ask the person helping you if Hibachi is available for UDP. That's what I did and she called Izumi to ask. Answer: first night only. Izumi booked me for the first night no problem. Super easy. (Just don't be like me and forget to ask until the end. She was very nice about it, but had to undo what she booked for Night One for me.) Did you go to any specialty restaurant to make the reservations?

Did you go to any specialty restaurant to make the reservations? Yes, once you board the ship go to the restaurant of choice and they will set up your reservation. I’ve done UDP many times the past two years and done this without issue. Reserved my whole week that first day, while also making changes to it throughout the week if I wanted to make a change. Some restaurants can make your reservations for you for all the restaurants, some you need to go to individually. It really all depends on the ship. Merion_Mom Posted March 2, 2019 #18 Share Posted March 2, 2019 OP specifically asked about the Anthem. There is no Hibachi option on the Anthem. Just FYI. I realize that the rest of you started talking about the UDP in general and on other ships.

In addition to dinners, you will get a free embarkation lunch (ours was at Jamie’s), and lunches on sea days. I thought I had our plan memorized, but then forgot when we got there 🙂. Also, bring a pencil and paper to write down what you end up with. Sure, our reservations eventually showed up in our planner, but some took a few days. also, you can change your reservations later. We ended up hating 150 Central, so we changed our 2nd reservation to Hooked.

I believe that was on the Allure

Colorado Babe Posted March 2, 2019 #23 Share Posted March 2, 2019 WE booked it for our upcoming Mariner cruise. It's a four night with two sea days. Hoping to get our monies worth.
Bonita John Posted March 3, 2019 #24 Share Posted March 3, 2019 Symphony May 11th 2019 We purchased the UDP and the Key. I was able to reserve shows as you have to with the key but am very nervous because we have no idea when and were we will be dining because we have to wait to be onboard to make our reservations. We prefer dining between 6 - 7 pm which is probably the most booked time.
