AF-1 Posted March 27, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 27, 2019 cnr crsr is correct; umbrellas are to be used during your cruise. you can also take home the sleep kit; which is a bag of lotion, eye mask, ear plugs, and essential oils

Rare HaveDogWillTravel Posted March 28, 2019 #13 Share Posted March 28, 2019 (edited) I’ve never had a clothes brush or binoculars in a full suite on Princess, not even when we sailed in the Grand Suite on the Grand Princess this past December. The slippers are not very large. This is a picture of them next to my size 8 shoe and my husband’s size 11.5 shoe. They fit my foot fine but they barely fit his big toe. They do not have a larger slipper. Edited March 28, 2019 by HaveDogWillTravel

PoohUnderstands Posted April 1, 2019 #16 Share Posted April 1, 2019 Just got off Grand. Had a nice shoe bag given to us with a very nice shoe brush inside to take home. Also a nicer pen, two leather (faux?) credit card holders, slippers as stated, the Sleep bag thingy, the mini-bar (and yes, took home the mini booze bottles to my kids as we don't drink!). We did not see any umbrellas in our suite, but then the weather was perfect for our ten days and didn't need one! Grin. The shoe bag and its goodies was "hidden" in the bottom of one of the many drawers that were in our suite and found it by accident. Maybe that cruiser above missed theirs? Hi there! We just got off the Grand and in comparing reality to the written word, it was pretty good I must admit. No flowers special for formal nights (but were orchids in stateroom and bathroom), no customized stationery anymore, but you do get the "upgraded" pen. Two nice Credit Card leather(faux?) folders for princess card which are nice, never saw any umbrellas, got a sleep bag with minor goodies (including eye mask) left on the bed, in one of the many drawers a shoe bag and brush, etc. (you might have to go hunting thru the drawers for this one); slippers; bathrobes (you could buy for $75!!!!!!!!!! each), 72 hr. turnaround laundry services-note of such left on our bed), then we got so many goodies the first couple of days- beautiful fruit basket; chocolates; nicer champagne(two bottles); then some more chocolates; standard amenities in the bathroom; free speciality restaurant dinner for two (when I remembered to call they only had 8:30pm left and I said no thank you as too late and they were nice enough to give me the first night free dinner on the second night of the cruise which was nice. The only thing I suggest you ask for is for the steward to put a sheet on the sofa the whole cruise, as I said earlier, they were not replaced. Any questions, just ask and enjoy the suite life, we sure did! Pooh
milolii Posted April 2, 2019 #20 Share Posted April 2, 2019 Hi! Which speciality restaurant was the freebie on embarkation night. I have heard both Crown Grill and Sabatinis.

I forgot to call and by the time I did, they only had 8:30pm left and that is way too late for us. I just politely said thank you but that is too late for us "oldies" to eat and was ready to hang up when the nice guest services gal said wait and she was able to make me a reservation for the next night free of charge at an earlier time. Thought that was very nice of Princess as it does specifically state it is usually only for first night. Pooh

It contained some nice fragrance spray for your pillow or sheets; lip balm, eye sleep mask; booklet on how to get a good night's sleep when flying and traveling; a bath bubble bomb; plastic shower cap; the best thing was the eye mask. compozer Posted April 2, 2019 #23 Share Posted April 2, 2019 We only book suites and cruise 6 to 8 weeks a year. Sometimes I think I should just book a regular mini and save money. 4 times the price of a inside - is it really worth the money??? It really is a shame how they have cut back on the suite perks. The unlimited internet is something I think would be easy for them to bring back on the ships with the new system. I really miss the beautiful flowers and do not care for the orchids. Flowers on first formal was a nice touch but not that big of a deal. I loved the thick bathrobes especially on chilly itineraries - I don't especially care for the new ones. I find that some items in the little bag are a hit and miss - sewing kit has been missing on several cruises the past year. We have always had umbrellas but never had binoculars. I think Sabitinis breakfast has gone down hill. On the last two cruises, the staff changed several times. The nice thing about it was having the staff know your routine and talking and joking around with them. They seemed to be constantly busy. And they are allowing "non suite special people" to come in. Last cruise they spent more time at that person's table and never came back to check on coffee many days - we had to get their attention. We were very pleased with club class dining on many cruises until our last cruise on the CB. It was always crowded when we went in and we actually had to go to the bar to wait on three nights (they did come to get us). They added more cc minis and then added two more tables to CC in the regular section across the aisle. The staff was running like mad and that "special" feeling was not there. Afraid they found a way to make more money with the cc cabins but screwed that up. We still love the larger cabins but, like everything else these days, it just is not the same. The good old suite life is gone!
AF-1 Posted April 2, 2019 #24 Share Posted April 2, 2019 Compozer, I was in a Penthouse Suite on CB in Feb. We had a great time, and not sure what you mean by the good old suite life is gone? Slippers, bathrobes, umbrellas, fruit, minibar, cc dining(no wait), breakfast in Sabbatini's was very good. Flowers, canapes every day, same day laundry, breakfast in suite, escorted onto ship. All was good.

If it is someones first cruise in a suite, I am sure they would say it was great. I am just saying it has changed a lot over the years. Glad you had a great time.
