is that the sister to CCL Mardi Gras being built?

Yep, Carnival Celebration. There will be third ship too, Carnival Jubilee which will be built in Meyer Werft.

Edit. I was too slow with my writings... 😅 actually I didn't realize that there was page 31 already.

This photo is from this evening.image.thumb.jpeg.c12e901d3dfa0271e1cd19f3e01cf099.jpeg

that's okay nice of you too reply.

I hope the Celebration is a good as M Gras.  She is quite the ship and a lot of RCI folks like her.

nope I was told on Symphony that Icon details won't come until summer with Wonder is over.

That is the "baby" right now that needs attention.  They want bookings for the fall and winter when she returns.

Thanks for that feedback. Icon comes out Fall 2023 not this year. Still some that book Wonder (last part of 2023)  might switch if Icon appeals to them, like the itinerary and fits their budget . Oh well we’ll continue to wait it out then 😃.

Also I do not like the look of the Magic carpet either.

Ship designing can get over the top just a bit.   I would like to see Icon not have an Aqua theatre but rather a Northstar in the back area up high.

I agree. Magic Carpet looks like construction scaffolding on the side of the ship—especially because it's bright orange. I also think the space taken up by the Aqua Theater on Oasis-class ships could be better utilized. Hopefully we get something better on Icon.

good because it would look stupid in my opinion having something sailing like a kite above the ship.

Funny. I cannot imagine better use of the aqua theater space. This is likely because I love the Aqua Theater so much.

I would love to see all of it on one ship. Aqua Theater, Broadway show in the Royal Theater, Ice Rink, 270, and North Star. (I know.. fat chance) I really like the Odyssey but miss the aqua theater and the ice rink.

Edit:  Oh and a bit bigger casino, with a cafe. (Espresso type beverages)

The opening schedule still suggests we get Icon itineraries on sale next week which would mean we'd at least have to get some info(cabin floor plans at least). However, the opening schedule sheet hasn't been updated in a while, so who knows if it's still current.

I don't know how old this photo is, but here is what is believed to be that bit of the stern with running track (at the top left of the piece). I wonder where it is now? Could now be part of a bigger piece.

It could be tucked away in a corner of the shipyard where it cannot be seen. 🙂 It would be awesome if the name was already on the lower stern. Remember this photo @Lloyd555?

And this photo shows a similarity to the Oasis-class stern. 🙂

Makes you wonder what the lower aft end of the Icon will look like without an Aquatheater pool and the area behind (and below?) it for the pool/show staff etc. All replaced with... 😎. Tell them @Lloyd555! 😛

Was on Wonder for the April 15th sailing, At the Captains Corner, Captain Rob heavily implied Icon would be the biggest in the fleet.🤷‍♂️

Welcome to CC and coming out of lurk mode.

A while ago someone mentioned to me that Icon would be about 3 meters longer, 1.5 meters wider at the waterline and possibly 20,000 GT(!)  more than Wonder of the Seas. We shall see.

Well, if Icon really is larger than the Oasis-class that explains why she has 5 bow thrusters rather than Wonder's 4. I'd say the evidence is pretty convincing that Icon will indeed be the largest in the RCI fleet, and the largest cruise ship ever.
