Scoring a table for just 2!

Our upcoming Alaskan cruise is to celebrate our 20th anniversary.  Considering the fact that no one, including ourselves, thought we would make it past year 4 - we are going to celebrate for sure!  This will be our first trip alone in 17 years (kiddos will be left at home...Praise the Lord!) .  On several past cruises, we have had to share a table with others - strangers.  This was usually a good experience and gave us the opportunity to get to know fellow passengers and make new friends. RCL and Disney did an awesome job of pairing us with families that had kids the same age as ours.  However, we would really like to have our dinners on this cruise alone if at all possible.   From whom should I make this request?  When do I inquire - prior to cruise or after we embark?

  • !MSteacher changed the title to Scoring a table for just 2!

If you used a TA, have them request a table for 2. If through Celebrity TA or on line on your own, call them directly. That way you have the request in early.

Then go to the MDR when board and follow-up. There are a lot of 2-person tables so shouldn’t be an issue to request and get one.

We prefer traditional dining and always have our ta request a 2 top.  We still visit mdr at embarkation to verify our table location.  Sometimes find that our request was not honored and we were assigned to a large table.  No problem.  There is always a hw on duty to handle change requests.  Have always corrected situation to our satisfaction.

For TD Email Celebrity at celebritydining@celebrity.com about 3 weeks prior to your sale date. Include your dining and table size preference.

If you choose Select Dining, there are many tables for 2.  Any time we requested a table for 2, when dining in the MDR, we were not successful, but this may have changed.  If this happens to you, it might help to go see the Maitre'D once you board.

Look into the Aqua Class.  Since you are celebrating a anniversary splurge a little and have a more romantic, intimate cruise.  Blu is a little more upscale and you can always get a table for 2 for breakfast and dinner.   The Persian Gardens is a nice place and the shower panel is fantastic.

The included bottle of bubbly in the  cabin is also a nice touch.

Happy cruising🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

We always have tables for two.

We either do Select dining (MyTime on RCCL) or go to the restaurant first thing after boarding and ask to be assigned to one.

Just a warning.. Tables for two on M class are fine. On S class they are very close together.

Two tops in the  Summit MDR were at least as close as any two tops in any Blu restaurant we've ever been on. Just saying....

We have not sailed on Summit since 2015, so maybe it was changed with last update. Back than we had terrific seats by the railing.

This was in December 2017. Our only time outside of Luminae or Blu. I remember thinking at the time why do people complain about the distance between two tops in Blu when they are at least as close in the MDR? :)

I feel like we have a lot in common.  We're sailing Solstice on August 23rd.  Wanna share a table?  🙂

We sail on Soltice at the end of July.  Enjoy your cruise!

Call X and see if they are having a "flash sale" for specialty dining.  DH called our TA to get a "romance package" for our 50th.  She called back and said he could get 2 dinners and one lunch for $100/pp in the specialty restaurants.  We did it and it was great.

I got the biggest kick out of you saying nobody thought you'd make it past 4 years  So funny!  At times I didn't think we'd make it past 4!  LOL! And we're going on 50 years!  You will have no problem for a nice table for 2, just tell them you will wait for it to be available and they will get you one as soon as possible.  Congrats on 20!

All of the above and may I suggest a Specialty Dinner for two?

This is what is showing in our upcoming Med cruise, "Ultimate Date Night Package";

Overview

Get camera-ready with a hair appointment in our exceptional salon, and then have photos taken by a professional photographer, where you’ll look better than ever together. Afterwards, enjoy an amazing dinner in one of our world-famous specialty restaurants, and cap the evening off with some champagne back in your stateroom.

It’s an experience the two of you will always remember.
