Say I'm paying £1200 for a Veranda 1B and current cost 60 days out is £1600. However, I could do with 17 more points. The price of concierge is £1700. If I upgrade do I pay the difference between what I paid and now, ie £500 or the price diffeence now £100? You would have to pay the current price of £1700. It doesn’t matter what your original price was. You also have to consider what promo you had as sometimes when upgrading you lose your promo or in some cases may receive a better one. Personally the next level isn't worth paying the extra for just to chase points for the extra benefits of the next level unless it is Zenith. £500 can purchase a drink pack, pay for a bag of laundry and etc. happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

(unless they are already booked in a suite and thus earning maximum points on the existing cruise) Unfortunately this cruise has only been available for upgrades for the last couple of weeks via move up bids and they don't attract the points of the upgraded room only the originally booked room

You don’t ‘own’ a 1B SR that you bought for 1200 and is now worth 1600 you are renting a 1B SR at 1200 which they are now charging 1600 for. If you only want to pay an extra 100 for a concierge instead of the 500. Rebook your 1B at 1600 then book the CC at 1700. Does that make sense? Alushar Posted July 12, 2019 #31 Share Posted July 12, 2019 @Denny01 Thanks Den I thought that would be the case but you never know with the vagaries of Celebrity admin. Concierge isn't worth £500 x 2 to me so whilst the points would be nice unless prices fall I will pass.

You get your cabin points per day, but you earn additional points for every $300 you spend on the cruise between excursions and other onboard spending (I think the casino was excluded). No “partial points” for amounts less than each $300 though. You are correct on HAL.

I meant the OP could theoretically (depending on availability, obviously) change their actual booking to a higher cabin category.
TeeRick Posted July 13, 2019 #35 Share Posted July 13, 2019 Unless you truly want to take an extra cruise (and who doesn't?) the only way it might be worth the cost to you is if you are going from E+ to Zenith. Some might even question that. We just cruise when and where we like and don't focus on points. But that is just our philosophy. Everybody is different. We would need to cruise a huge number of nights in suites to ever get from E+ to Zenith. Then once we would get there Celebrity would likely reduce the benefits anyway! C 2 C Posted July 13, 2019 #36 Share Posted July 13, 2019 Our next level is 99,999... only 90,500 points to go (Zenith 3000 - 99999 - pts ). (and several lifetimes, about 200 years based on our cruise history).

If you hit 100,000 points (Zenith Ultra?) and live that long they should name a ship after you and give you free cruises for life even if you are 200 years old!
