I will try to keep it brief. We cruise at least twice a year, normally at a minimum book

two state room. This trip we have 7. Have NEVER had an issue.

1) Had our itinerary changed (not a Problem)

2) They moved around excursions and actives for correct day of new itinerary. (thank you)

3) They also, somehow canceled our drink package. (now the problem starts)

4) Was never notified, noticed it on my bank statement. Trip not till Dec 2 2019.

5) Made the phone calls, and calls, and calls, and know emails......(Not resolved)

6) Deluxe drink package now $65 a day, I bought at $42 a day (still a problem)

7) Was told 3 days ago someone will call or email.....(thank god not holding breath would die)

8) ANY IDEAS PLEASE!!!!! (I do not want to pay new price, don't think I should)

Host Clarea thank you for the email address.

I will also see about posting on twitter and facebook, I do not have

either one ,but relatives do.

10) Thank you 🙂

Please report back.  You are not the first to report that some item in the Cruise Planner was "accidentally" cancelled and somehow no longer available at the original price.  Others have reported similar situations with excursions.

Good luck kelbell!  I really hope they honor that price.  And I hope you post your results.

Sorry to jump on your thread with this... I hope you don't mind.

We reserved three staterooms and had to cancel one of the reservations last month (non refundable deposit).  The CSR I spoke with felt bad about the situation, put us on hold, then came back on the line and told us out of the $750 deposit they would give our stateroom $400 OBC but there was nothing he could do about the $350.  I wasn't expecting that, but thanked him numerous times.

A couple of weeks ago, I had to call about my reservation and doubled checked on the OBC.  Nothing there.  CSR put me on hold, then came back on and said they gave a $750 future cruise voucher to the people who were staying in that cabin.

I hung up a little disappointed, I know what I heard.  I was shocked and asked him to repeat himself.  I've left it alone BUT... I am curious to what others would do...

Document EVERYTHING.  Make sure you have receipts stating what you purchased the package at, and keep it all.  Get what you can in writing.

Generally the OP would have received an email "Cruise Planner Confirmation" from royalcaribbeaninternational@royalcaribbean.com confirming the drink package purchased, on what date, and at what price.  I would forward that email to Mr Bayley with your request to have the prices honored of your original purchase.

Post to their Facebook or twitter account. I recently had a problem with a dining plan not being refunded when I had to cancel a cruise. The cs reps did not help. I was able to get it resolved by asking them.

Oh no you said the 2 words that will get you hand slapped and a email warning you that you can say those banned words here.

Let me tell you MY story.

I was originally on the Allure, but with the port changes I took the opportunity to change to the Harmony. Everything was ok. 2 days later I got an invoice with 200 for cancellation fee, hmmm i thought I could change without the fee. Called in, they removed it. 2 days later same story, I called in, they removed it. to make my story short it happend every 2 days for a total amount of 6 times. I was pissed and raised hell. That and because I changed rooms to an interior boardwalk view (advertised on the page, but found out a few days later is a category that does not exist. At least does not relate to the cabin numbers in the page), to make my story short, after talking to supervisors feeling I deserved better for all the aggraviation I received 2 emails from different persons. 1 took 500 off my original purchase, another one gave me 100 OBC, so the story is, always fight for what is right.

Sorry. This is not true. They do not allow facebook links To ta sites or Facebook groups. You can mention the site as related to royal Caribbean corporation.

Our Policy Regarding Facebook and Roll Calls

Cruise Critic loves Facebook. in fact, we maintain FB pages for all of our sites (Cruise Critic, CruiseCritic.co.uk, our Australia site, etc.). We have many people who participate on both our FB page and our message boards. We have no issues with people linking their own, personal FB pages in their profiles, or on your signature on Cruise Critic forums. You understand that doing so allows our members to know your "real life" name.

ROLL CALLS created on FB are not anonymous. Most of them are open to the public. Even if they are private groups, once you are accepted into the group everyone will know your real name. In doing so you have pretty much told all those people -- strangers -- when you will be away on vacation. The fact of the matter is most people do not understand how much personal information they are sharing.

On Cruise Critic roll calls, everyone is anonymous. You have the ability to remain as anonymous as you'd like throughout the entire Roll Call timeframe and throughout your entire cruise if you so desire. You can be JoeCruise101 until the day you disembark. The choice is yours, you share as much or as little as YOU choose to; everyone starts out on a level playing field on Cruise Critic. Anonymous user names only.

Also, FB Roll Calls have already proven to divide Roll Calls. People, for whatever reason, who cannot seem to get along may open a FB group and then want more people to participate, so they harvest members from the original ROLL CALL. There have been actual disruptions encouraged on FB directed towards our ROLL CALLs.

We believe a ROLL CALL created on Cruise Critic should stay here. We've worked long and hard to create this community, and have provided a certain level of trust and privacy for our members. If they choose to participate in a FB Roll Call, they'll have to learn about it somewhere other than Cruise Critic.

We request that you not solicit people to your Facebook page on any of our ROLL CALLS.

Let's see.

The policy for cancelling a non-refundable deposit if that you lose $100 per person and the remainder refunded as a Future Cruise Credit to the PEOPLE WHO CANCELLED, non-transferable.

So when Royal did so, you got upset?  Didn't you know the policy when you booked??????

Not true. We are not prohibited from mentioning Twitter.

Facebook can be "mentioned".  We are not permitted to promote FB roll calls and other cruise links.

We can certainly recommend contacting Royal Caribbean on its FB page.

Thank you for clarifying. I thought we could not say those two words, glad to know I was wrong!

Well I guess when I got a warning email stating that I could not mention FB was fake news

Like the different answers you get when you call RCI, the CC admins can vary their interpretation of that rule.

Yes, I did know the policy.  I explained the situation pretty clear about my phone call with RC.  I expected to lose the entire $750.  I was pleasantly surprised when I was told I wouldn't and they would apply $400 to OBC.

I was just asking opinions on what people would do if they were told this and then found out it didn't happen.

Your post is why I am very hesitant at times to ask any questions on these boards.  Your response with all caps and all of the question marks, to me, implied that you felt I was either ignorant or greedy.  It's really a shame that some people on here are very quick to jump on someone instead of being helpful.  People have enough in life to deal with.

With that being said, my question was what would you do if you were told you would get $400 OBC after having to cancel a reservation.  Not, did I understand the cancellation policy. I am not debating their policy.  So I'm guessing your response would have been "I would take the loss, even after surprisingly being told about the OBC, and walk away happy".

I truly do hope you have an awesome day!  Take care!

This is a great reason to have a “professional” TA. I have had the same TA for 25 years. They know the business, they have relationships and provide a lot of bookings with cruise lines. They have your best interest in mind based on the business you bring them. I personally don’t want to argue or make phone calls to any vendor about something I am not an expert about.

I am not talking about the “ Big Box”  TAs, a real personal professional TA.

Cheers!

9) Relax and if you really want the drink package buy it at whatever price - or else ask yourself if the aggravation of trying to get it back at $42 is worth it

That's a bit ridiculous. A $23 per day ($27ish after gratuity), per person increase is not a little thing. For a one week cruise, that's an increase (to no fault of their own) of almost $200...per person.
