Great pictures richard- indeed the best cabins on board for a single traveler.

I am not booking anything on QA before I see the first real pictures. The lack of a propper prommenade deck is the major desing flaw. So i wait and see- if I really love the interiour, i might try QA one day, but given the chance  I stick with the other three Cunard ships.

I love those cabins!  Lack of any on Queen Anne is a massive disappointment.

I just noted the maiden voyage is indeed sold out but plenty of space appearing on all the other sailings currently offered.  Sadly for a single passenger the costs are way too high for me at this time.

A few more pics  of a  Deck 3 solo stateroom (3012) I had earlier this month on QM2.

I always found them to be cheaper, not by a huge amount but enough to warrant booking.

The cabins on the current Queens are in a great location, on the same deck (or decks for the QM2) as the Britannia restuarant, so great to avoid travelling up/down stairs/lifts to get to the main public spaces.

Plus tucked away where they were, they have always been quiet for me. Not on a thoroughfare with passengers coming and going, so no late night noise.

The cabins on the QM2 are especially spacious for a solo cabin, and have lots of fans.  They get booked pretty quickly when the new sailings are pubished so they are in demand.

Also, for other solo travellers, it's nice to be in a little community together on the ship.

So I am all for them.

Thanks for your answer. I can understand the attraction if they're less expensive than double for single use.

You say they're a little community - are they clustered together in one part of the ship/s? As a solo traveller that does sound rather nice.

Yes, on the QV and QE there is a passage way off from the casino area on 2 deck but you would never know as it is really quiet.  Just nine cabins, but located there you are perfectly located for the theatre, casino, Queens Room etc.

On the QM2 they are mid ships but slightly more on decks two and three.  I count fifteen on the deck plans.  The ones on 3 deck (like in the photos) are wider than they are deep, as they occupy the space of the former photo gallery (I believe it was that) on 3L Deck, if you recall the Art Gallery on the other side of the ship which is very long, the same sized space is shared four six cabins so quite generous.

I've not tried one on 2 deck yet on the QM2, does anyone have any photos yet?

I'll try to dig some out.  Ive sailed in the Deck 2 "show cabin" 2002 several times.  That has a large picture window and a chaise lounge where I've spent many an hour gazing at the sea on grand voyages.  Being on a low deck you are very close to the water and it was a thrill in the South China Sea to have the waves reaching the window.

The bed is not against the outside wall in deck 2 cabins as your wardrobe and bathroom are the corridor side.

Deck 2 cabins are normally marginally cheaper because everyone loves the round windows on deck 3!

Cunard has posted another YouTube video today showing last month's launch of Queen Anne's trancone at Fincantieri's Castellammare di Stabia shipyard. @Colin_Cameron may have already seen this one since it shows the woman who was given the honor of christening this section of the ship which I hadn't seen before.

Impressive.  Thanks @bluemarble.  I presume the shipyard remembered to close all the doors below the waterline at the open end.  🙂

Given the renderings, from the outside Queen Anne will sadly be no.4 out of 4 in the Cunard fleet. But no surprise, the British Queen with that name wasn't famous for her beauty either;-)

I am looking forward to sail on my favorite QM2 to Norway next month!

I have just received an extravagant advertising piece about Queen Anne; lot’s of gold, blue, boxes within boxes, and lavish color. It may become a collector’s item. I remember when QM2 came out I got a lavish brochure which started trading on eBay for astonishing amounts. They’ve spent a lot of money🙄

Hi,

I received a copy of this, too. It is very impressive.

Eyeing up the QM2 World Cruise and noticed that it starts as the Queen Anne maiden voyage ends (11th January). Queen Victoria will also be there, too.

Will be exciting to see the two queens with their new sister so quickly!

I'd rather see all four Queens together, not just three of them.

I did look, hoping to find Queen Elizabeth there too, but she's in Australia.

I decided not to book the QA Maiden but now feeling like a day trip to Southampton on the 11th might be in order anyway…

Sounds like a plan if you're close! When I lived close a few years ago, I'd often go down after a stressful day to relax and watch the ships. Looking forward to moving back down to London next month so I'll be (fairly) close again.

My hometown in Germany to Southhampton = 686,5 km 😄

I also see that QM2 and QV will arrive in Southhampton on January 11 together with QA. This will be awesome.

Does anyone have an idea when the b balance of QA’s 2024 sailing schedule will be published? When is she schedule to be here in NYC? I have grown allergic to airports-now unless there is a personal or family emergency, I will only do very long-haul or short air trips to reach a ship. I’m on QV’s 2023 cruise from NYC to Hong Kong; Cathay Pacific has non-stop service to NYC on which I have booked. I also note that  Cunard’s Air Program fares  (in business) are half of the published fares. So some Ambien and I’m ‘done’ for most of the 14 hrs. It’s expensive but at my age😉 and dislike of mob-scenes, I’ll pay.
