Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 30, 2019 Author #476 Share Posted October 30, 2019 Tonight is our second Chic night. We are busy getting cleaned up and dressed. We almost always wear white dinner jackets and blow ties. I'm terrible at tying my tie so have to get Iain to come to my rescue. We are going to have to make it an early evening as we have a long day planned for tomorrow. We booked the high speed ferry to Capri on our own via Celebrity. When checking the price from Celebrity it was just a little lower than booking direct with the ferry line for the sailing we are on. Possibly Celebrity blocked many seats and only the more expensive ones were available.

Very quiet and I’m the only one in the lounge. Here’s the Drink Menu for Eden. How can I forget - The Library the shelves almost completely empty. At least it’s something. Some of us still love the book exchanges.
Rare hcat Posted October 31, 2019 #482 Share Posted October 31, 2019 We also enjoy it as well..I believe Jim said it had more books at the beginning of the cruise..I wish they'd find a better shelf or book cart, and hope they put it around the corner in the BLU/ Tiffany shop hallway..which is a nice reading area. We think the pre-booking offer might work for us b/c the itins we want to look at won't be announced by our Nov cruise!

I wish they would offer this version on the Revolutionized ships although, in our experience, it is only offered later in the cruise so you need to be on for more than 7 days. I had always been an avid reader but shifted to electronic books about a decade ago. Now with all my walking I have shifted to Audio Books. I really love Mystery Novels and just finished Patricia Cornwell's - 24 Scarpetta's Series. Great writer if your into Forensic type mysteries. I've finished my 3rd Jeffery Dever's novel since we left home.

Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 31, 2019 Author #488 Share Posted October 31, 2019 Naples - October 31 Fun day but exhausting. We took the Caprì on your own. Departed ship at 8:30 and walked a couple blocks to the Ferry Port. We took the 9:10 High Speed Ferry which takes about 50 minutes. Our guide Pepe directed us to the Funicular Lift to upper Caprì which cost 2 euros each way. Since we wanted to take the Blue Grotto Cruise He took us to where they depart. Iain and many others snoozed on the ferry. The ferry is quite large and very comfortable.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 31, 2019 Author #489 Share Posted October 31, 2019 The Blue Grotto and full island Cruise was 18 Euros each and when we arrived at the Grotto the row boats came to our boat for the Grotto trip. It ran an additional 14 euros each.

Definitely not disappointed.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 31, 2019 Author #491 Share Posted October 31, 2019 When we arrived at Grotto, those that wished got into row boats. 3-4 per boat. You have to sit on the floor as the entrance is really low and you almost have to lay flat for a quick 5-10 seconds. The row boats paddle up to the floating cashier.

Edge take a little getting used to. There are lots of dead ends and sometimes you have to go up or down a floor to get where your going. That was my biggest pet peeve about Edge - it's not symmetrical side to side like most ships, thus the dead ends, etc. Still I liked Edge alot! Rare WrittenOnYourHeart Posted October 31, 2019 #498 Share Posted October 31, 2019 Gorgeous pics and video!! I’m jealous - I wanted to do it so badly a few years ago, but the wait was about 3 hours, the boat I was on had no shade, and I could already feel a sunburn starting, so I had to transfer over to the boat that was going back to the dock (there were 2 from the company I used for the island circumnavigation tour - some wanted to wait and some go from each boat, so the drivers decided who was going, pulled the boats alongside each other, and we transferred passengers one at a time between the two). Maybe my 50th birthday cruise will be similar and I can make it happen!!

I load up my Kindle before a cruise and my DH brings 2-3 books and then hopes to find something onboard and leaves his behind (he can read 4-5 books on a 7 night cruise with 2 travel days). He didn't find anything good on the Edge, but usually finds some great books to borrow on other ships. I used to love paper books, but now am Kindlized - never thought it could happen...🙂
Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted November 1, 2019 #500 Share Posted November 1, 2019 I used to take books in my suitcase and leave them behind. Now I load up my iPad. But I still prefer actual books when I have a choice.
