Club Orange Expanded Menus and Cost

I just booked another trip, 7-Day Western Caribbean Obstructed Verandah. I immediately called and added CO for $175 and took a $500 cabin upgrade to an aft-facing verandah. As an extreme introvert who doesn't like crowds, the exclusive dining room already makes CO worth its weight in gold for me but having it pay for itself through the room upgrade is certainly a nice bonus 🙂

Congratulations.  CO is a great thing for dining options and the stateroom upgrade.  Glad I could help with the menu comparison.  Feel free to ask lots of questions to get the most of your cruise with HAL.

It appears that the omelet has been removed from the NS room service - I recall someone said they wrote in some things that they wanted.    Any idea about adding on an omelet?

We are in a NS on our upcoming cruise.   Has anyone been able to add the additional CO entree onto their room service order?    We are planning on laying low for the most part.  We are aware it can be windy - we have done it on our last trip we just move the table closer to the wall.    The wind can be a problem.   Our last cruise I pre-booked a cabana and the winds were so bad we weren't able to enjoy it.  I had to pull my chair right up against the ship wall to get out of the wind.

I know you didn’t ask me but here is a link.  Info may be somewhat outdated.  There was no onboard event on the koningsdam in November

The direct number for adding Club Orange is (888) 628-8107. I'm traveling solo. Pricing is per person and varies depending on trip length. For my 18 day cruise to Hawaii the cost is $15/day. For my 7 day cruise to Caribbean it is $25/day.

Thanks! I hope they resume the onboard events for my Feb 2nd cruise on the Koningsdam. I was really looking forward to that perk.

That would be nice for sure.  I wonder if it is paused because of covid or if it’s gone for good.

Did they comp you anything for excluding one of the advertised perks?

The phone number on the PDF as well just in case 🙂.

FTR, I just added CO to my Alaska B2B for this summer on Zuiderdam ($25/night).  I did it for the cabin selection.  I wanted my favorite J large inside cabin.  I'm booked on "free" casino offers, so the added cost to get the cabin I wanted is well worth it.  Still very much less than the regular price.

The only perk I really took advantage of when I did this on Eurodam in November was the mimosa with room service breakfast.  With so few pax sailing, and arriving at the port fairly early, people were pretty much just checking in and walking on the ship, so "priority" boarding provided no benefit.  Neither did the tender to HMC.  I only opted for the MDR entree one night (the duck), which was very good.

I'm considering booking the Rotterdam TA next spring.  Even if I book the Have-It-All fare, I might add CO just for the dining experience.  Depends on the cost.  If I convince friends to join me, and they don't want the upcharge, I'll probably skip it.

We a balcony (deck 7) on the Zaandam Sept 2023 on a New England/Canada cruise.  If we did Club Orange what possible stateroom upgrade could we receive, or would it be just a different room on deck 7 (currently the room is a BC, towards the back of the ship).

I know it's up to us to decide what is important, but does anyone have any thoughts?  Especially since the cruise is over a year and a half away.

Thanks!

From what I understand your BC cabin is the lowest Vista Suite cabin on the Zaandam. If you were to purchase Club Orange you would be able to upgrade to the highest available cabin in your meta category, which should mean you could have a complimentary upgrade to a A Vista Suite cabin, which is the highest level available in that category.

I purchased Club Orange in order to choose my Cabin on the Eurodam this past November. I was very happy to be able to select an aft facing balcony.  I would choose this cabin again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I do not see any aft facing Vista Suites on the Zaandam but maybe I am missing something. It has been years since I was on that ship. Perhaps someone who is more familiar with this ship or has more recent experience can chime in to help make your decision easier.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

Rochelle

Thank you Miss @rochelle_s for your info.  I think I will give the CO folks a call while I have the Zaandam's deck plans up on the screen.  I will see what they can do re the cabin upgrade, especially since the Zaandam doesn't have all that many balcony cabins.  I guess what be in my favor is that the cruise is more than 18 months away.  Thanks again!

There may be no aft-facing staterooms but on decks 6 and 7 there is a balcony that spans the entire back of the ship.  A stateroom near that huge balcony would be a great choice.

Does anybody know how much the cost of Club Orange?  I'm also looking for copies of their expanded menus.

Personally, I think they should work the club orange amenities into the 4 star and 5 star perks.  I know on Royal Caribbean, the Diamonds or Diamond Plus members got priority seating and specialty coffee in the main dining room for breakfast, as well as a bottle of wine to the stateroom.

As a 5 star mariner on Holland I am a little insulted that my loyalty in sailing with them is now made little better that 2nd class to Club Orange.'  I do not have a special dining room or menus or most of the other perks.

I have a dedicated line to services on Princess as I am elite but not Holland America, makes me wonder why I continue to sail with them when I can just buy all the benefits on the first sailing.

We sailed on the Koningsdam earlier this month and received an offer for Club Orange for $25 pp. Just received the same offer for our upcoming Veendam cruise in early February. Didn't see the value either time, so declined.

We also received the same offer for our upcoming cruise on the Rotterdam, we also declined.

We are also Elite with Princess and the perks are much better than HAL 3 and 4 stars status plus we get a 100.00 dollar military OBC for being a veteran.

Keep in mind that Club Orange restaurant is just a nice dinor.

To me its not just the restaurant or the other benefits ,  its the fact that they have chosen profit over loyalty.   Saying  your a 5 star means  you have spent thousands of dollars with Holland America and I do remember when the Captain gave my husband his gold medallion my husband said" thank you, this is the most expensive piece of jewellery I have ever owned. "

Oh yes, we get the Military benefit on Princess also and appreciate it, that is something else he has earned.  J
