Is this a revenue generating event?    If so I have no idea.

In the past we have been invited to dine with the captain or other senior staff, but it has been with 1 to 3 other couples and is held in the dining venue of the officers choice ranging from MDR to Specialty to Luminae.

The Captains Table has faded away and been replaced with Dinner with a Officer.  Last time we were invited it was with the Staff Captain at Qsine ( his favorite) with 3 other couples.  We were lucky enough to be invited to the Captains Table 3 times, great food, wine and the Captains were very engaging.  We didn’t like being paraded into the MDR, felt like we were on display.

They generally have at least 2 Captain and Senior Officer Lunch.  One for upper suites and one for Zenith's.   It is usually done in either Tuscon or Blu (lunch).   I believe the often have a paid dinner (Chef's Table) where there is at least one senior officer present..

The old Captain's Tables in the MDR have been discontinued. Now an officer, sometimes the Captain will host a dinner for usually 10 to 12 passengers will be held often in Tuscan Grille, but can be held anywhere. I've recently been in LPC and Murano as well as Tuscan. The Captain's Club Host or Hostess usually organizes the table, but some Officers decide who to invite. Enjoy!

We had dinner with the captain on Infinity a few years ago.  It was 4-5 couples and held in Tuscan Grill.  We met first for champagne and introductions in one of the lounges then went to dinner together.  The captain ordered group appetizers and we each were able to order our own entrees.  We had group photos and individual photos with the captain.  everything was complimentary.  It was a nice experience.

we were invited to an officer lunch on Equinox last month but declined because we didn’t feel like dressing up during the day unless it was specifically with the captain.

We've been invited to this a few times - mainly on Sihouette.  Its a sit down meal with 3 other couples (so 8 of you in total) the desginated Officer - sometimes the Captain but more recently a senior officer.  The menu was a shortened version of the normal one (we've done Tuscan and Murano - but we have also seen a hosted lunch taking place at the Porch). Paired wines included - anything outside that on your beverage package.  Comemorative photo of the group.   We've always found them very nice events - a good chance to chat with guests you might not have nmet before, and to ask all the nosey questions about X.  If you get an invite absolutely go!  I nearly didn't the first time as this isn't normally my "thing" but I have really enjoyed each one.

I have no idea what the criteria for invitation are.  We are always upper level suites and are Elite + if that makes any difference.

We have had dinner with the Captain many times.  Including dinner with the staff captain.  It is really nice- you typically meet with about 4 other couples in the wine cellar (or whatever it is called now) are given champagne, then escorted by the CC host/hostess to a table in any of the restaurants- never did luminae or blu.

You are seated, place cards on the table and can order from a reduced menu.  Wine is served.  Nice evening- at the end, the ladies are given a red rose and within a day, you get a nice picture of the table.  Haven't gone on the last edge cruise so I am not sure how it is now.  But this is how it was last year.

A fun evening.

We were happy to be invited to dinner with the Captain and his wife during our Easter cruise on the Summit last year.  At the time, we were NOT high level loyalty members, we were NOT staying in a suite..just an inside cabin and did not know anyone onboard.  We were. mystified as to why were chosen.   It turns out 2 other couples were invited, one was on their 30th Celebrity cruise and the other had never cruised before!  (They thought everyone was invited to dine with the Captain 😂😂😂).
Anyway, dinner was in the MDR, it was wonderful, ladies received a rose and each couple received a lovely photo of the group with the menu and seating chart.
I did inquire how we were selected and I was told it was because we were so nice to the crew members.  ???? We didn’t do anything special, we always treat all crew members the way we would like to be treated!
