It was much easier than in previous years, everyone has to make an appointment so no long queue out onto the car park. We were only out of the house for one and half hours even though it is 2 miles walk each way. We have an appointment for ours next Saturday. We were told to make sure we were there on time as they were sticking strictly to the times. Avril

Every other year I have woken up the next day with a raging cold so I will let you know tomorrow. If I have sore throat, temperature, coughing and sneezing I will be trying to work out whether I have Covid symptoms and need to self isolate or whether it is the reaction 😂😂 That's how it is now. I've had hay fever for many years, take my meds every year without giving it a thought. This year I keep thinking 'is it or isn't it'?😁 Avril

Oh well, just have to look back at the superb sights of Northumberland from the other week and perhaps we will end up stalking celebs in Abergele 😀 What a beautiful area. That should make up for your cancelled break. Avril

wowzz Posted September 4, 2020 #4757 Share Posted September 4, 2020 Got an interesting morning planned today. I'm going to pressure wash one of our wheelie bins with my new pressure washer. I may well post photos later for those of you that enjoy pictures of that sort of thing. I call it "wheelie porn" Feel free to post your "where you wheelie bin" jokes. Sometimes life is just too exciting! Lady W is off to Poundland to get away from the excitement. 2

Last year was fine, the year before my arm was red raw and painful for days. I had the worst night's sleep ever because my arm has swollen and every time I moved during the night and touched the sheets with my arm it woke me. I have the usual cold this morning. David has had no problems at all, again normal for him, so I suppose it is all down to individual reactions. At the end of the day a couple of days discomfort is better than getting flu. I had flu once and I never want it again.

We do, however, occasionally see a greater spotted woodpecker plus once in a blue moon a green woodpecker. Then there's the owl that I've never seen, but which hoots continuously overnight in the oak tree near the guest bedroom.🤣 I’ve had a friend and my Dad in my garden who’ve both commented on how many sparrows we have! So many this year (We have a hedge they seem to like) Both of them said they haven’t seen many this year. We have a pair of magpies too who make a lot of noise!

Thanks for the advance warning, I may keep the next day or two after it free just in case, not that we are doing anything exciting at the moment anyway. I hope it calms down soon for you.

wowzz Posted September 4, 2020 #4765 Share Posted September 4, 2020 Anyone else see the resemblance to the monolith in "2001 A Space Oddessy", apart from the grass, and the fact that it's a bin, and made out of plastic ? Just uncanny really. If I see any monkeys banging away with a stick I'll let you know. 3

Unless of course it was still so dirty you didn't want us to see it properly.

Neither Frank or I have had a problem with them, just a slight sniffle sometimes. Avril Edited September 4, 2020 by Adawn47 oops
