You have to do what you have to do. My surgeon said to not feel bad if I needed a refill on my pain meds. You are getting there. Take your time. I'm wishing you all the best.

Thank you for the good wishes.  My doctor refused to refill my happy pills and only prescribed tylenol with codeine....sigh.  I only took those pills 30 minutes before physical therapy sessions.  Tried tylenol and I got no relief.  Maybe the codeine mixed in will help take the edge off therapy pain.

If you can do more with less pain than you used to be able to do, that's an overall win, even if you're not up to 100% of what you could do in your younger years. 

 

I asume this post was for @Sea Dog, Greg, and he happily responded how well he's doing. 

And me? I fell and had surgery to correct 3 breaks and a dislocated ankle. I never had any pain before surgery and am waiting the 3 weeks which will be when I can ditch the boot or brace to walk on my own.  Based on my pain level now, and the distance I can walk with the boot, I tend to think my surgeon was overly optimistic.

DD wanted to bring me home the beautiful Christmas decorations she saw but with all the flights too fragile.  Instead she added to our magnet collection and has kept the maps from the hikes she did in the National Parks and plans to have them framed.

You thought Lottie was unsure about holding Finnley,  well Z was not going to holding her.  He gave the new mom hugs and then when Caden was done holding they went off to play with Legos.

I think Kenzie and Lottie are charming. Finnley will have a great childhood with that bunch!

That's too bad he would not renew the prescription. The Tylenol with codeine will hopefully help if not there has to be other pain pills that can help with out it being Oxycontin.

This is what I gently remind my mother of, after her hip surgery.
 

She has her 6 week check up on Monday. I brought her home today for a trail run for a few hours. Unfortunately the retirement home she is in had a Covid outbreak over a week ago, so she lost 10 days of physiotherapy but has been very active the last week. That being said, we have extended her stay until the first week of September VS departing next Monday.
 

Next week we will drop one of the two PSW shifts, so she has extra help from 10-6 for one week. Then the following week she will go down to no extra help other than the 1 hour a day she gets at the facility.  She is doing great but that extra time will help her get that much stronger before she returns home.

I hope that was supposed to be trial run, and not an actual trail run!  Hips heal pretty well, but even after 10 years, I'm still not a runner.

Owen’s last regular ball game of the season was cancelled tonight due to rain. Their team is top of the league and the team they were to play is second to them. Even if they lost tonight they would still be on top. It might be rescheduled but time will tell. 
 

They still have their local year end tourney against the teams they have played all year, followed by Provincials the week after.

The exterior overhaul at moms house has begun. The garage is getting new wood siding, and aluminum facia and soffit. The house is next along with the trellis being replaced. 

After the old siding was removed. 

 

 

New siding is up.

A further baseball update.  Beautiful sunset last Tuesday.
 

 

After 7 weeks on the IL Owen got to play an inning, 3 weeks after his cast was removed. Last Tuesday he was put in as a pinch runner in the top of the 5th.  He stole second and then went to third on the over throw. He was stranded on third though. The last inning was a quick 3 up/3 down so no at bat. 
 

 

Last Thursday he got to play the entire game. He caught three pop flies in centre to end 3 innings, struck, walked and had a single to eventually get home.  Great first game back. Most importantly, his wrist was feeling good after the game. 
 

 

 

There was also an amazing full moon that night.

I just went on to my app and it said to select an arrival time for my wellness check for our Sept cruise??  Does this just mean to pick the time I want to arrive at the ship?  For our cruise on the Allure in April, my TA did all of our paperwork, along with picking the time for our arrival, and I just had to download our vaccination on the app, as well as doing the health questionnaire and safety stuff.  Our Allure cruise was the first time using the app.   At the risk of sounding like a newbie, can someone help me with this question??🤔😁

That's great to hear your Mom is doing well.   Her house looks great with the lighter colored siding.  Is this a surprise for her return home?   Has she seen her new car yet?

Did you do check in yet?  Where you input passport info, credit card info for seapasses, etc?  If not, this is what you need to do.  I usually do this on laptop as I find easier than the app.
