Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" ​ 😁 ​day in lockdown... how was yours?)

We have done B2B, and just packed enough.  Don’t know I would trust Royal to clean anything other than socks and underwear.

We send out underwear, socks, work out clothes and pj’ s and sometimes DH swim trunks in the wash and fold bags.  We get 2 free bags per cruise.  I don’t send out anything “good”. The rest I hand wash.  I could send out dress clothes if needed but we got by without for 46 nights.  For Australia I took about 12 nights of dress stuff for dinner. Since we only wear those clothes in the evening they can be worn multiple times if you don’t spill anything on them. 
 

I take a 3 gal collapsible wash basin. It’s light weight and I just throw it on top of the suitcase.  I now use the bath gel from the shower.  Pre treat stains with shout wipes. Soak and agitate in the basin.  Rinse twice. Put a pool towel on the floor and roll up the washed item in it. walk on it to squeeze out the water.  Hang to dry from magnets or on a low humidity day at sea I’ve been known to put a few outside on the balcony. DHs job is to run exchange pool towels if I need dry ones. 
 

I found doing 3-4 basins every 3-4 days works best. Don’t let it pile up too much. For me it’s a sea day chore. I do not try to wash jeans like that so even in cold climates I don’t wear jeans much. Shorts and leggings are much easier to hand wash.

Brilliance was changed, ending up in Spain instead of UK. So unfortunately I’ve been emailing back and forth a lot to our TA who mentioned it. It’s a good deal but we just can’t do the timing. Instead we booked Utopia for the Presidents cruise. We don’t usually fly for 4 nights but wanted to try a new ship and thought it might be fun.

Sorrento’s pizza is great any time. There are many pizza parlors in NYC named Sorrento’s .The best one time 99 cent pizzas in Manhattan was near MSG.

There's a $1.50 slice pizza joint about a block from our hotel. But I don't see myself eating there.

 

At my age, saving a couple bucks to have lower quality food is no longer a top priority because as one gets older, we have to deal with heartburn and acid reflux and cholesterol and the list goes on.

 

If I was still in college, the cheap pizza would be my regular meal. I used to go to Costco for lunch with coworkers in the old days for $1.50 hot dog and drinks combo. My old body can't take that type of good anymore...

I lived in NYC 60 years.In 2007 I organized a school reunion .The majority of those who attended never left NY and had never been to the Empire State Building,Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.We did all three on our reunion.

Costco did not exist when I was in college,There were many pizzerias near the college that I went to.It was 10 cents a slice.

Every July 4 my daughter who lives near me has a huge feast at her house.This year 107 people have responded that they will attend It is an all day ,11AM to 11 PM.There will be two tents in the back yard.Some people may prefer to sit on the deck and others inside especially if it is a very hot day

The invitees are my son in laws childhood friends,my daughters childhood friends,their current friends,neighbors,co-workers and relatives.People will be coming from NJ and NY

Many are members of the FDNY,NYPD,and Port Authority Police .

The invitations state that pets are welcome.The food is barbecue ,deli ,beverages and desserts

Went to see Kevin Costner new western Horizon, 3 hour and only first of 4 movies, I love westerns was surprised that Shelagh really liked it with the help of a couple of glasses of Chardonnay.

My hands are ready for the holiday.  It is my Step Grandson's 21st birthday on the 4th so we are meeting them in Mississippi at the casino for a day of swimming, gambling and dinner.  Maybe some fireworks too.

We currently have a S2S, moving from Sun Princess to Oasis.  We can do laundry on Princess, since they have washers and dryers, so will do that before Oasis.  
 

I was looking at adding the next two Oasis sailings, because they had really good prices.  We get those wash and fold bags too.  I may have to make one of my planning lists to see what would work best.  I guess we could always take extra, because we are driving.

I tried to get more info about this but what I learned is a little confusing.  14 weeks ago, The Pelindaba Lavender Instagram page posted a message about the Pelindaba Lavender Farm closing:

The Amelia Island store is still open (not sure about St Augustine) and I think they are selling existing stock and stock from other suppliers.  Micheline just signed up for an event that the store is involved with later this month, so it looks like they don't plan to close any time soon.  Maybe the farm is a separate business from the store?  Although the website is gone, you can still call the store to order product and they will ship it to you.  I'll try to remember to go into the store and get more info the next time we are near there.
