Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

My Boss invited us to join them for Thanksgiving at their home in Cape Coral.    Thinking of flying down from PHL to RSW the evening of Tuesday, 11/26 and stay there until late afternoon of Sunday 12/01 so we have time to get out their boat 46 ft catamaran and maybe go to gasparillo island.

Chris and Donna plan on going to Donna's Mom's house this year for thanksgiving and will do Christmas at my Brother's house.   I think my Brother and his family could survive one year without me cooking.    So no problem if we decide to take off this year.

My concern is flying this week is traditional chaotic from everything I have seen on the news in past years.

My question is....is it best to book now or wait a bit?    I suspect holiday flights will increase not decline but we usually don't fly during Thanksgiving week to know for sure.

Sitting in the hotel waiting to call an uber to head over to port.  Royal is texting me about how critical it is to adhere to my boarding time.

Started up my Live thread.  Feel free to pop in.  I’m trying to keep up with Andrew’s and Sue’s lives as well. Cheers 🍻

Bon Voyage!!!! 🛳️

What is the title of your live thread?

Yes I really enjoyed it. I wish they would have wrapped it all up in season one. Now I have to wait for season 2 to find out all that happens.

One of my son in laws recommended a series to me today .It is called Mr.D .It is on Prime ,a comedy rated very highly.I will start watching it later.

I’ve had a strange thing happen. We’re on Wonder in March and I’ve been looking at specialty dining. Neither Hooked or Izumi (non-hibachi) show up in the cruise planner under dinner but both show up under lunch. I called and they said it wasn’t available any day for dinner. I first thought maybe they were remodeling but since I can book lunch that doesn’t make sense. Any idea what could be happening? I guess I’ll try to book after we board.

I don't know what's happening with Hooked, either!  I purchased the 3 dinner plan specifically because of Hooked;  I know I can't make reservations, but I wanted to see what their menu looks like.  As you said, dinner at Hooked is not available, only lunch, so I did make a reservation for lunch and paid for it.  Our friend Graham, aka Schooner Drinker, was in contact with someone from Royal that he knows, and he wasn't given an answer yet, other than they are "working on it".  Our Bella cruise is still 6 months away, and yours is in 7 months, so hopefully this will be resolved way before we cruise!

Then, a little stir fry waiting for Andi when she got home from work.

Hooked was really good.  We took the family there when we were on Utopia this month.  This was their menu.

@h20skibum  Thanks, Mark..were you there for Dinner, or Lunch?  They are not listing Hooked for Dinner (so far!).  I see that on your Menu there are no Lobster Rolls listed.  I think 🤔? when I booked Hooked for lunch, it had listed the Lobster Rolls..I do hope they have it;  if not, we've got a place in Naples that make awesome Lobster Rolls.😉

We were there at dinner.  I don’t recall any lobster rolls on the menu.  Maybe that is a lunch item.  Since we had no sea days on that sailing, they didn’t serve lunches

Never saw lobster rolls in any restaurant on rccl , love them we have a nice restaurant in dallas that serves them . Celebrity suite restaurant has them for lunch on embarkation day. MSc yacht club has them for lunch in their private island. Just checked into our hotel in Denver area, going to dinner with my brother and his wife and one of my nieces with her husband. Should see rest of the family tomorrow.

@Luckynana   We had lunch as well as dinner in Hooked on Navigator in 2022.  The Lunch Menu is a little different from the Dinner Menu.  But all were delicious!

A lovely blue sky warm day with breeze Saturday in Sydney yesterday.  7C4032F0-C440-4A8E-96F7-2F720D985452.thumb.jpeg.32db028adc02fb8d9d33ac0a39e00e00.jpeg

In the evening we went to the Sydney Opera House and saw Pride & Prejudice: an adaptation in words and music. One actor, one very talented violinist and one young talented pianist.  Beautiful music and very entertaining reading of excerpts from the book.  DH bought the tickets & enjoyed it as much as I did.

DD overnight hiking in B.C.  Haven’t seen this type of food storage in bear zones before. Definitely needed though.  DD saw 3 bears.

Good idea to keep the food up, and away from the tents.  I still have a container with bear claw marks on from our tent camping days.

And if you wanted to hear screaming, that happened when a young couple with a baby in the camp site next to us made the mistake of bringing their food in the tent with them.  A bear reached in their tent and drug their food out.

Ah, the good old days of tent camping in the National Forest.

@Husky1987  That’s really nice fence!

The very long fence between my dads and his neighbour’s property was taken down recently. He is not looking forward to the cost of a new one (obviously the cost to him will be 50%)

I hope that’s not the fence with the night blooming cereus growing on it.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to replacing the entire length of fence (about 120') between us and the back neighbor.  We have horribly bad soil in our area (it's about 4-6" of soil over a bed of river rock, it's almost impossible to dig), so about 15 years ago or so they brought in a bunch of topsoil for their backyard, and of course filled it all the way to the fenceline.  So over the years, that has degraded the bottom of the entire fence...it's probably my next summer's project.
