Rare trbarton Posted July 6, 2020 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2020 If you have applied for the Shareholders Benefits how long did it take for you to get the credit on your cruise? Thanks! Tom
40yearcruiser Posted July 6, 2020 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2020 Hard to tell how long it will take now, but for our cruises in March & April (which ultimately were cancelled) I faxed the request from my bank and the OBC was in my Princess account shortly after I got back home. I had a B2B booked and the OBC was listed on each cruise.
skynight Posted July 6, 2020 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2020 I've had the OBC posted same or next day after I faxed the information. Once cruises start operating again it's anyone's guess.
pilot Posted July 6, 2020 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2020 I have a cruise book in January. It was posted within 15 minutes after I faxed it.Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare ontheweb Posted July 6, 2020 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2020 It generally had been pretty quick. However, sometimes if does not show up. Our TA told me they sometimes (he may have said often ) lose the faxes. When they say they never received it, you have to try again.
denton1 Posted July 6, 2020 #6 Share Posted July 6, 2020 I faxed in the request with my brokerage statement this past Thursday. It was posted on my cruise personalizer within one hour.
DrivesLikeMario Posted July 6, 2020 #7 Share Posted July 6, 2020 Just did our latest one last week. Took less than 50 minutes.

CRUISEWITHH Posted July 6, 2020 #9 Share Posted July 6, 2020 This is so archaic to have to fax the form. Why don't they catch up with technology and let us email the form in?

Rare trbarton Posted July 7, 2020 Author #11 Share Posted July 7, 2020 I’ve seen a post that you can email your information. If I hear anymore I’ll post what I find. Tom😀
40yearcruiser Posted July 7, 2020 #12 Share Posted July 7, 2020 Several years ago we were able to email in the request, but then that option disappeared from the instructions. Maybe because of the volume of emails they get these requests were getting lost in the shuffle.

Why don't they catch up with technology and let us email the form in? When you do fax it in, it does not go to an actual fax machine. It goes into a computer and they look at it on the computer screen, not on a printed pieces of paper. If it does not get posted in a working day or two, chances are a communication glitch or computer glitch prevented the FAX from reaching them, so send it again. 5 hours ago, ontheweb said: If I'm not mistaken, they are afraid of viruses attached to e-mails. wowzz Posted July 7, 2020 #15 Share Posted July 7, 2020 Must be different in the US. In the UK you just send an email giving details of your cruise and attach a pdf file to prove share ownership. Apart from the NHS, no one uses fax machines anymore.
TwoCruisers Posted July 7, 2020 #16 Share Posted July 7, 2020 In the past I sent mine by snail mail and it posted in about 3 to 6 days.

Princess does not use fax machines in the USA either. The faxes are delivered to a computer, not printed out.

Tom😀 You can use an online service like fax zero https://faxzero.com/ You can use an email service for 10 pages free like this https://www.fax.plus/pricing/ Or if you have a VOIP system it may be included for free
Rare trbarton Posted July 7, 2020 Author #20 Share Posted July 7, 2020 Thanks...I use fax zero as it’s free. I saw on another post that you could now email your request in thus my question. Tom😀

Rare trbarton Posted July 8, 2020 Author #22 Share Posted July 8, 2020 I would suggest sending it again using fax zero since it’s free. Keep us posted as to what happens. Tom😀

Tom😀 I would second that. I know our TA has told me that they fairly often lose the requests. It has happened to us, though we have always received it eventually. I'm guessing they aren't manning their snail mail. All good now...

As the email deals with financial matters and also has an effect on CCL's bottom line it may be a Sarbanes-Oxley violation to transmit that information via an insecure means such as internet email.
