Social Distancing on a Cruise Ship?

The venerable Dr. Fauci also said that though case numbers are up death numbers are dropping yet he doesn't view this as relieving. My question to him would be then how, exactly, would herd immunity ever occur in a population that has no vaccine for a disease that isn't likely to just disappear?

Dr Fauci said this because people only die AFTER suffering the disease. I.E. Not instantly upon contracting the virus. We can expect an increase in death rates in two to three weeks.

I don't think Dr Fauci has ever said herd immunity is a given. In fact he has said that it may not develop for COVID-19.

Not much is a given in medicine. However, it is certain that herd immunity won't develop without enough people contracting the disease. And actually, people die WHILE suffering the disease. Memorial Day weekend didn't cause a sharp spike in deaths. The next couple of weeks will be quite telling. So far, 3 days past the big weekend we still have zero Corona cases in the hospital now going on almost 7 weeks.

Once again, the intent was to not overwhelm the medical system and protect the most vulnerable.  It was never to prevent new cases from occuring.

The big difference between Fauci and many other experts is his high profile. Just because he speaks does not make it so.

The boss here used to think he walked on water. She met him during her residency at Temple. She now thinks he has gone overboard.

How would I know when that would be especially if I had to go badly

Well if you can't see when someone else steps away then how did you find your way to the trough in the first place?

I guess if you have to go that badly then you just have to put up with the wet shoes. Keep wearing those long pants!

Sure they can. The C&A T&C clearly say they can for C&A perks. Haven’t seen it for Suite amenities. I’ve seen it happen and heard that those that complained about unable or unavailable amenities, they received some FCC.  We didn’t complain onboard so don’t know if we would have got one. Do they give out FCC for limiting access to CL/DL ?

I'm not entirely sure those claims were ever substantiated to any degree.  Seems like just a couple, out of hundreds of suite guests that week got anything.

Now people do get FCC's all the time for a 'diminished' experience across all levels. Just depends gow they complain I guess. I do have first hand knowledge on that

The reason why I mentioned it is that I'm in charge of managing the budgets for the Wastewater treatment facilities in our region and we have had some dialogue with our health authorities to help them with a study on this.

I do have to on occasion visit these facilities to do inventory counts, Financial mgmt. training etc.. and yep its not a place I would want to work in all the time.

They were testing the wastewater in Brevard County after the Memorial Day weekend and the astronauts launched in June. They said the same thing about high levels of Covid found.

Personally, I thought it was a lot of crap😉🤣🤣

Isn't that 2-3 weeks about now. 🤔

Numbers started spiking in mid June

People will probably be disappointed when FL's deaths remain fairly stable. Sad
