JP82 Posted September 18, 2020 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2020 Interesting! Looks like some nice options for short cruises I can choose from to test the waters with.
Summer hols Posted September 21, 2020 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2020 Very disappointing itineraries. Will have to look at QV or QM2
Rare carlmm Posted September 21, 2020 #8 Share Posted September 21, 2020 Wonderful! I am glad Cunard returns to the Mediterranean in the Summer. All this cold weather cruises to the North, brrr. Great that there is a finally a choise of sunny weather cruises again. Is any information about pricing available? Will it be allowed to combine two of the 7 nighters? bluemarble Posted September 21, 2020 #9 Share Posted September 21, 2020 Here are the details I'm seeing for that 24 June 2021 QE voyage listed above with "no details". I'm seeing lead-in Cunard Fare UK pricing listed on one site with "complimentary upgrade to balcony" ranging from £295pp for the 3-night voyages to £2989pp for a 21-night voyage. I'm seeing the 30 August 2021 Mediterranean voyage from Southampton being offered as 7-night, 14-night and 21-night voyages. I would imagine other combinations of those 7-night voyages would be offered as well, but the site I've found does not list any of the new QE 2021 voyages past those 30 August sailings from Southampton, so I can't say for sure. sogne Posted September 21, 2020 #11 Share Posted September 21, 2020 As both Porto and Bruges have the actual port Leioxes and Zeebrugge in brackets the absence of Ijmuiden suggests that QE is going through the North Sea Canal to Amsterdam in which case I shall be on it.

Okay, so I'm more than prepared to admit that I am geography illiterate (the geography teacher gave up on me at school 🤣) so could you explain what you mean by the North Sea Canal. Yeah, that's a good one, especially when Insides are listed from £949pp on that same voyage! The US website is showing fares from $2,499pp for Princess Grill Suites on that voyage. JP82 Posted September 22, 2020 #16 Share Posted September 22, 2020 I had a scroll through, there were a few more, some longer ones at £300 lol. I guess they have a few days still to correct it! 😄
Trevor Fountain Posted September 22, 2020 #17 Share Posted September 22, 2020 I think these are the genuine prices. It's so they don't have to give back huge refunds when they all get cancelled. Cunard aren't daft, they've learnt their lesson.

As per Wiki via Google: The North Sea Canal is a Dutch ship canal from Amsterdam to the North Sea at IJmuiden, constructed between 1865 and 1876 to enable seafaring vessels to reach the port of Amsterdam. This man-made channel terminates at Amsterdam in the closed-off IJ Bay, which in turn connects to the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal The ship goes through a lock. Roger Ackroyd Posted September 22, 2020 #21 Share Posted September 22, 2020 I know we all want to be optimistic about 2021 but with the new "partial" lockdown just announced within the UK and with the threat that it will last 6 months, i.e. until end of March 2021, I won't be confident in booking any cruises before the coast is totally clear and I know exactly what protocols will be in force on board. And that may well be 2022 at the earliest.
majortom10 Posted September 22, 2020 #22 Share Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) I am not being optimistic looking at the prices of QE 2021 £2300 14nt Med cruise for lowest grade balcony cabin. Think senior management at Carnival UK i.e Cunard just blindly assuming that because so many have had cruises cancelled that they will pay any price to cruise again with them. I can now see why so many people are looking elsewhere and Saga seems very popular with free insurance, free transport from home and return, all inclusive and excursions included sorry Cunard you are lagging behind senior management should wake up and smell the coffee. The lowest 14 day Med balcony prices I can see are from around £1750 to £1900 so maybe the Suits smelt the coffee, although I'd be surprised if it was restaurant coffee as it's so weak, there's hardly any smell. I think Cunard is still pretty special to many people and still has enough of a following to survive the 'so many' to which you refer, jumping shipping lines.
