But MarinerBoy...weren't you the person questioning people "wasting" their money by booking suites? So you get this offer because of the amount of money you spend in the casino?

They took cash from their parents accounts and used it to play in the casino. They are scum.

Look, there is nothing wrong with parents taking their kids on a cruise, even on multiple cruises as kids grow into adults its fine to take your family on the cruise. My family is generous and I love them for it, maybe you should start taking your kids on cruises rather than taking them all your self right? Think about that, time to give back and be generous, pass that wealth on.

In terms of how I qualified for the casino credit, that is another story - it has to do with some casino tricks I picked up over the years and partly has to do with the fact that the cruise card was connected to my parents expense account which I could take cash for the casino and use in tournies and poker games.  Then I used my own cabin number, name and status to accumulate points and now Princess thinks I am a big roller, jokes on them because they gave me 3 free cruises haha. I am going to maximize my time on these 3 cruises when in fact I have no where close to the bankroll they think I do, thanks for the 20,000$ worth of cruises Princess because I am going to eat as much as I can at buffets, drink all day, laugh my way to a nice lounge by the pool and think of all the suckers paying top price for cruises while I got 3 cruises absolutely spanking FREE!

Thanks for your responses.  My reading of framework is that cruise operators may not offer to sail cruises of more  than 7 days and that the prohibition on making offers expires November 1, 2021.  In other words, the framework specifically prohibits sailing more than 7 days until November 1, but they also added a prohibition on even making offers to sail more than 7 days until after November 1.

This applies only to cruises that involve a USA port.

Again, it’s not Princess it’s the Casino company paying your fare. Princess is still being paid for your cabin. The casino company is an outside vendor.

Got a flyer asking us to book a free balcony with VIP benefits on a selected listing of cruises. All sorts of options from 5 day to 15 day. We selected a 15 day Hawaii cruise in December. Why in the world would Princess offer such luxury cruises free? I understand we play a lot in the casino but what idiot is going to select a 5 day cruise when a 15 day Hawaii cruise which is by far the most expensive and hard to find cruise esp in Dec is free? Incredible.

The OP states one of the 15 day cruises is a Hawaii cruise.  (See above.)

The question is how much did you lose in the casino to get these cruises?  I don't care who's money it was. Just wondering how active you have to be because nothing is really free. Whether it's your money or parents money someone paid.

" in December" - after the "7" days or less expires

I understood that, but the prohibition is in place now for even offering any cruises of more than 7 days.  It's just the order prohibiting offering expires November 1.  After November 1 they can start selling/offering longer cruises again.

They are currently selling longer cruises even transatlantic for 2022 originating in Ft Lauderdale

The fact that a 15 day free cruise is even given out free is remarkable. I understand a small investment from the casino for a quick 7 day inside cabin roll the dice but a 15 day balcony investment for 2 people is 6k worth of investment upfront. Even if I play through all 6k back you won't lose 6k on play through you'll likely break even or lose a bit but there is no way the casino can justify fronting 6k to 2 people just in hope they will lose 6k or more in the casino.

Its a joke, its really bad marketing and its these types of promos that kill cruise ship industry. A lot of people in business make bad decisions esp in the cruise ship and casino world, these types of promotions are one of those bad moves. Sure the average Joe here will defend this promotion but don't lie to your self its a back breaker for Princess casinos they need to limit these give away to 7 days or less and inside cabins only.

Princess is being paid by the casino contractor.

You admitted that you scammed them into thinking you are a high roller. They'll quickly learn that you are not, and that will be the end of your offers.

I dont think you understand what I am saying, i am saying not just for me but for anyone these types of offers will soon be ending. The casino executives and marketing people will quickly learn that these offers dont work, its a huge investment for little return. I just explained why - to give our 15 day cruises at a value of 6k and expect people to give you a positive ROI is wishful thinking. I been on many cruises, very few people have bankrolls of over 5000$ on casinos - and even those who do will not lose all their money rather they play through it. Play through is not the same as loss, these types of "FREE CRUISE" offers are extreme, I work in marketing, I would never ever allow our company to give away this much free stuff.

This is just bad management on the casino part, its laughable. Stop defending lack of decision making, I can tell a well run company from a poor one, if you think casino executives are doing a smart thing with your offers you clearly dont understand high end business models. This is archaic and I hope they stop giving away offers like this soon.

In the meanwhile I will be one of the last people to enjoy 3 free cruises, you heard me, 3 free cruises given away to me. Wow, thank you casino, now please stop giving away cruises to others its bad business.

Someone gets their first comped cruise and all of a sudden they're experts.

Casinos have made money for hundreds of years. The odds are in their favor. They know what they are doing, and can afford being "tricked" by someone using mommy's pocket money every once in a while.

Only someone like Trump could bankrupt a casino.

These cruises cost the casino department nowhere near $6K price tag you mention, they contract cabins in bulk at huge discounts.

You may not even get to take that first cruise, as I'm pretty sure they monitor the boards here, and you've admitted that you've conned them into believing you have money.

It wouldn't be too hard for them to figure out who you are, and cancel your booking.

Enjoy the feeling that you've accomplished something while you still can.

Speaking at the Betting On Sports America online conference, gambling executives, analysts and lawmakers agreed that the lure of new tax revenue could prove irresistible to cash-strapped state governments facing large deficits due to the pandemic.

And the results of last month's elections, in which voters in numerous states approved allowing or expanding casinos or sports betting, show that demand exists for legalized gambling in additional states. According to the American Gaming Association, the casino industry's national trade group, 44 states plus Washington, D.C., have legalized some form of casino gaming, including sports betting.

Casinos have the ability to change a whale into a guppy and a guppy into a whale.

If you don't give them x dollars and y time in action, you won't get offers.

Casinos count play different than most players, every bet is counted, if you play 8 hours and break even you may bet 480 units. You gave the casino 480 chances to take your money at games that have anywhere from 3-4% to much higher house odds.

Its not about the occasional winner its about the constant small percentage they win every deal, roll, spin.

Slot machines that pay 97% don't pay back 97 per hundred dollars bet, they get to the 97% at 10 million or 100 million wagered to  97% pay out percentage.

There is not a game on the floor they don't win at, the rake % on poker makes it tough to make money in a real game. Blackjack played correctly may be from a 2-4% winner to  2-4% loser for the player.

Craps is like trying to constantly time the market. You have be right when the market is going to turn.

Haha old man, you make me laugh. You watch too many movies, you are just envious and jealous I get to go on 3 free cruises while you sit at home and sulk. Go ahead pay top dollar for your ships while I sail free and happy. Feels great.

Also dont tell me about smart money, you arent an executive, you arent a business owner you dont work in marketing like I do. So you cant say what is a good deal and what is not, I am telling you right now comping people to go on cruises they would go on anyway is a bad move. And I am seeing these actions on their way OUT. Do you understand? The era of comping cruises is going bye bye because the cruise industry needs to smarten up, the casinos are going to be in need of major cash due to the economic crisis we seen due to CV19 and they cant afford to give away cruises. Please understand this, in the future we will not see these types of promotions again.

I am one of the last few who qualified for this and now I am the authority on the boards who can speak from experience because as far as I am concerned I am the VIP, I am the privileged

one to be speaking and others listen.

I dont believe it, i been gambling for years and I havent been a loser. I think most people I talked to were happy with their casino experience and none complained about losing money. Most people I know come out even or a little on top. Sure you have the occasional dip when you blow $100 on slots a day and dont recoup, but majority of the time people win.

If no one won no one would go to the casino, if people just lost the value of entertainment isnt enough to lure them back, only if people win will they go back. Thus casinos offer people a chance to make real money, pretty fast too, a portion of my yearly revenue is generated through sports gambling, and casino poker/craps. I learned to master the crap game, I have an incredible throw and I know the bet strategy well, i dont think casinos make money on me, they may make money off others chumps but as far as I am concerned I am the king of the floor when ever I enter the casino.

As my father used to say to me, "How do you think casinos pay for all of those neon signs and the electricity to keep them lit up!?" He also used to say, "There's a sucker born every minute", and from the looks of things, it still holds true.

You kidding right? Casinos make money from the other add on features they sell: hotel rooms, restaurants, entertainment shows, private events.. the actual gaming floor is where we make money,  if you ever been to a casino go to a craps table. You won't believe how many laughing happy people you'll see all racking it in, ever been on a hot craps ride?

And if any of this were true, we'd all be in casinos every day instead of working full time jobs.

And if everyone wins, as you claim there would be no need for gambling hotlines, and zero poverty.

Need money? Just go to a casino, because MarinerBoy says everyone wins the majority of the time.

Someday sit at the airport in Vegas and ask folks as they're leaving if the won or lost. Some folks can't even afford a ticket home.

All hail the king of the casino, the last of the free cruisers.

Do not question his wisdom, for he is all-knowing.

Oy, what a schmegegge
