Princess club class ?

You receive:

  • Club class dining - Never experienced but sure I'll enjoy.  Not a make/break perk.  Not like Celebrity where you have access to a very nice suite dining room
  • Priority embarkation/disembarkation - Already have but helpful if you don't
  • Half bottle of red & white wine - I suspect it's not their best vintage, not helpful if you have a drink package anyway
  • Upgraded robes - OK....
  • Priority specialty dining reservations - may be useful for some
  • Evening Canapés - OK, this is something we'll probably use

All in all, I don't think I'd normally go for the upgrade --but--

On the plus side, good stateroom locations seem to be available when many of the regular mini locations are gone.  Just booked one for 2022 for that reason.

Suite passenger breakfast!  Do not underestimate the worth of that particular perk.

The full suite breakfast is only for full suites. Club class mini suites can only use the club class dining area not the Sabatinis or Crown Grill breakfast

Nothing to do with shows. Coupon book is worthless except for the BOGO casino coupon in my opinion.

Look for the  BoGo Speciality Restaurant coupon good only for the 1st night .

I don' t see a alot of info for this class? received seating for shows etc.? Regal princess. Also can any one tell me about the cruise night coupon book? What is this? Thank you in advance.

Club Class dining is anytime dining. Show up anytime the DR is open. Most times you will be promptly seated. On the Regal it is in the Concerto DR, deck 6, mid ship. The DR is open each day for breakfast and dinner and lunch on sea days. It is also open for lunch on boarding day until 1pm or 1:30pm. The menu is the same as the main DR's plus in the evening there is one additional selection. There is an improved service level in Club Class.

Information provided based on pre-pandemic. May change.

Princess does not have seat reservation for shows. All shows are walk in. Arrive 30 to 45 minutes early for popular shows. One exception is for passengers in the two Sky Suites on their newest ships, Sky, Enchanted, Discovery(future late 2021 or 2022).

I'll chime in too.  CC dining in the MDR offers a couple of less obvious tweaks too.

Firstly, CC waitstaff have line jump privilege in the kitchen meaning if there's a huge logjam at the salad station, they can cut to the front to grab plates for their guests.  This can be helpful if, for example, you happen to arrive just after the rest of the dining room converts from early fixed seating to anytime (as happens on several ships).  If you happen to arrive at 7:30 they kitchen may be slammed by a rush of ATD folks.  OR if you're just not looking to linger over a meal and want a quick in and out.  This is an unadvertised perk, but one we've seen at play on every CC voyage.

Second, the additional offering will typically be a different combination of things that exist in the main menu.  For example a pasta with a different sauce, prepared in the CC area.  How good this is really depends on how interested your CC host is in this part of the job.  In our experience, we've had hosts who were great socializers and others who were great "chefs" but the time demands more or less prohibit both.  You'll know your first dinner which direction your host leans and, speaking frankly, I'd say get with the program (whichever program) they prefer - you'll have a happier experience!

Finally, yes, we love the full suite breakfast when we can afford it.  On the other hand, with nearly all of the full suite guests making use of this - breakfast in CC tends to be special in it's own right.  Service is good.  Yes they menu is the same as everyone else in the MDR, but again, servers have access to pancakes hot of the grill, toast directly from the toaster and a number of other small enhancements that might not be immediately obvious.

CC cost premiums can vary a lot and there is a limit to how much I'd pay for this privilege but if the cost premium is a good value in your judgement you'll probably enjoy the enhancements.

Lastly, the priority boarding perk was always more or less useless.  CC guests in mini suites have had basically the same status as Elite members and on many cruises we've taken the boat is jammed with Elites.  The old saying is, if everyone has status, then no one has status.  Full suite guests usually receive the tiniest of head starts boarding (think a minute or minutes).  Personally, I think priority boarding is gone for a good while.  If Princess implements on pier testing prior to boarding (as the CDC currently indicates they must) boarding order will be far more strict than it has been in the past - one wonders if this perk might be at least temporarily suspended.

I have only had CC dining as part of a full suite and I have to say, it is really nice to show up when I wanted to.  That said, I think we found ourselves showing up on a schedule we made for ourselves.  I think it's funny how we say we don't want to be on a schedule, but we end up putting ourselves on one anyway.  Personally, I'm not sure I would pay the extra money for a CC mini suite just for the dining aspect.  CC is just not that much better than regular dining service to me.  The menu is the same.  If I recall there is always an appetizer and entrée that are special just for CC though and they are not on the menu.  I don't recall using the coupons for anything.

It appears that at least during the pandemic there will be reservations for activities which probably includes shows. From a Princess medallion announcement:

  • viewing and reserving onboard activities digitally NEW!

Or it could just refer to activities such as using the Spa, booking specialty restaurants, making hair appointments, etc.

Probably yes. But during the active pandemic period a reservation system might be a way to control crowds in certain venues. We will hear once sailing re-starts. We will not be sailing during this period and are content with waiting it out to 2023 if necessary.

"We’re using OceanMedallion technology to manage the flow, timing and size of groups to allow for responsible physical distancing. You’ll be able to view capacity and attendance levels for venues and events that allow you to make informed decisions."

A reservation system for shows did not control all crowds on RCI. People with reservations lined up early to be able to select the best seating for them once they entered. People without reservations lined up early to secure any available seats from people with reservations who did not show up.

I think being able to make reservations for specific seats would be difficult for Princess to implement.

Caught a really good offer for CC on a cruise 2 years ago.  IMO it was not worth it but then we are elite which negates several of the CC perks.

Same here. Got an offer to pay a modest sum to upgrade from a regular Mini-Suite to CC and took it. None of the perks interested me at full fare. But for a slight upcharge I gave it a try. Really enjoyed it. The best part was that you get all of the benefits of Traditional Dining if you want (same staff each night and very personal service) with all the benefits of Anytime Dining, (arrive whenever you want...really).  Still wouldn't pay full fare over a regular MS, but would definitely pay a modest increase if an Upgrade Offer came my way.
