We are heading into a stretch of single digit and below 0F temperatures so it's a little difficult to have "warm" feelings about the Weatherpeople (even though it's not their fault!)

Chef salads with leftover sirloin steak for tonight and Papa Murphy's cheesy bread!

I had a weekend in London in March, 2014 as part of my last business trip for 3M. The weather was very good and I walked all over the city for two days. One stop was the Tate Modern art gallery which I really enjoyed. One painting that struck me was Frampton's "Portrait of a Young Woman", I'm not quite sure why but maybe it was the slightly Art Deco feel to it. It is one I would hang in my home (a print, I probably couldn't afford the original!) -

Thank you Rich, Roy, drinks ladies, our recipe lady and all how enjoy this thread.

Bubble gum ice cream was always a favorite when I was young.  Basically showered with a friend this am as DH chatted with my while I took my shower.  The weather forecasters provide good entertainment value when taken with a grain of salt.

We are off to a medical test (non-Covid) and then signing our refi documents on the way home.  More money to spend on travel whenever we get to do that again.

Prayers to those who need them and best wishes to all.

Good morning, and thanks to all for the Daily News.  The paper this morning was full of the cancellation of cruising to Canada for the next year.  And last night on the news we saw a number of HAL ships so we had to stop the show and try to figure out which ones they were!  I guess all we will see of them for this year here!  I have to wonder what is going to happen in Europe.  No one wants us!

I noticed the eaglets back in the nest this morning.  I wonder if the parents are going to accept them.  The camera was panning all over the place looking for them.

Good morning.  It's been too many years to remember when the last time I had bubble bun was.  The weathermen (and weatherwomen) are the people we love to "hate" when they predict weather we don't want and it turns out they were correct.

Going to pass on the meal suggestions.  Tonight, it's going to be tempura shrimp and French fires in the air fryer which along with salad and wine will be our dinner,

Today's journey into space, thanks to DH's new telescope, is of a galaxy he had not heard of until the telescope captured this picture.  I hope you enjoy the Sculptor Galaxy.

Good morning.... and for once I made it to the list in the morning. Got up early to receive my groceries from my neighbor. She got nearly everything but household cleaners seem to be a bit low.... we will try again next week. Hope everyone is well and Roy, hope your brother is doing well after his  back surgery.

We  are having a some warming weather. It will be in the 40's through most of next week. That is getting almost spring like. One downer is that it makes the snow pack in the high country much more unstable and this week 3 skiers were killed by an avalanche near Silverton. It took 4 days to recover the bodies. They were 20 feet under snow and debris.  I remember when I did cross country skiing many, many years ago, the first thing we were told is "respect the mountain". Sad thing.

Dogs look really spiffy and clean after their spa day.... wish I could have hair and nails done. They were exhausted after and seem to still be a bit slow this morning. All that excitement.

Good morning, all! An interesting collection of days. Looking out the window, I say there’s a 80% chance of showers, but 0% chance of showering with the weatherman. And yes, children often accurately mirror the moments we hoped no one saw.

Our current social restrictions end at midnight tonight, but our new ones will be announced in a couple of hours. I don’t expect anything to be relaxed until after spring break/ Easter at the earliest. Certainly given the new federal travel restrictions, that seems likely.

A year ago today we had a wonderful day in Ushuaia, and took the Train  to the End of the World. After our days in Antarctica, Ushuaia seemed like the height of civilization with its city lights and paved roads! We had lunch at a restaurant with one of those amazing indoor fire pits where they carve you slices off the meat roasting over the fire as you stand there. It was an afternoon departure, and we cruised the Beagle Channel, marveling at the Andes in all their glory.ADF7A2AB-3C27-4465-B31D-6B2D0AFFF574.thumb.jpeg.c7e4b3441798d0bf1a1772cf3590547b.jpeg

But some of us went for the meat!

Good morning.

Love the quote.  We certainly are careful around the 6 year old granddaughter.  She can't keep a "secret" to save her soul!!

Our resident eagles have been seen replenishing their nest with twigs and such.  They are very vocal with the seagulls and other birds.  Can only imagine what they are saying to each other.

Foggy day here where we live on the Oregon coast.  We hope today to take the cover off our travel trailer and get it ready for a quick trip next weekend.  Just to see if we remember how to set things up.  Have a longer trip planned to Northern California near Crescent City over spring break in March.  We make our plans over the grandkids school breaks.  They were on a hybrid model this week.  Next week entire school is in person.  We all are excited for them to go back!

Prayers and condolences to those who have lost loved ones.  Thanks for the daily.  It is a ray of sunshine to start my day.

Wear those masks...we have ordered more.

Happy Friday to you all.

Thanks for the Daily, Rich and our afternoon smile. 🙂

I’m late on everything today due to my appointment with my periodontist this morning to do an intense follow up on my surgery.  Happy to say - so far, so good. 😄  Two months to go until the next one and a minor surgery if everything is good.  🤞

I growl at the weather man on a regular basis so I’ll celebrate today by not growling at him. 😉

Love the quote.  It is ever so true.  As Art Linkletter used to say - “children say the darnedest things”.

Have to save the meal suggestion for another day as my little market had prime rib on sale today so that’s on the menu for tonight.

OMG that drink of the day is definitely dessert.  Sickenly sweet from the sounds of things.

@doobiebA very happy birthday to your DH..

@cat shepardhope your door guru makes an appearance. 🤞

I’m sure a lot of our CC friends who are working at home can relate to this one:

Had to laugh at this one a bit.  Looks like there is another dog with the same name as my rambunctious poodle, Miko:

Prayers for everyone on Roy’s Care list & for those that need them and big toast to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Have a great TGIF everyone.  Stay safe and please don’t forget to wear your masks 😷

Good morning and thanks all!  Wow that cocktail sounds good!  I am always suspicious of celebrity wines, but might have to try that rose, if we ever get warm weather!

We are at the beginning of a nasty cold snap!  So might have to shower with a friend😉to stay warm!

Hey, who are you looking at!

Oh that brings back memories!   DS is a starving artist who has had some success with some work shown internationally.  So on our visit to the Tate modern with him,  I quickly hurried through what I thought was an empty gallery complete with ladders, paint cans and peanut shells on the floor!  DS says did you notice that gallery, I said yes, but moved on, well apparently it was an installation with styrofoam, carved and painted to look like peanut shells.  I am thinking what’s the point?

A little while later I read that a janitor was fired as he threw out some of the art into the garbage,  which I could readily understand!  And gotta love British panache,  one of the newspaper’s later hired him for their art critic!

Brings back memories of a trip to the LA Museum of Modern Art in 6th grade. Before we went, our teacher wisely called a meeting and told us we would see a bunch of oversized Corn Flakes boxes in one of the rooms, and we were not to say a word about it, just look and walk on, as it was an exhibit.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

I used to like bubble gum in my youth. Haha @Shower with a Friend Day. And hats off to weatherpersons, who are often on the mark.

Chicken noodle soup sounds good.

Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

Stay safe, social distance and double mask!

It was noted this morning on tv that "National Weatherpersons Day" was only 3 days after Groundhog Day. Coincidence?

I just checked the thermometer & it's 51 degrees (F) outside & the sun is shining! Love it! The snow is melting fast, so I took the opportunity to throw some Mardi Gras beads into our front tree. The neighbor kids love it! Sunday we're supposed to get more snow, 1 to 3 inches of slushy stuff. Sigh! I'm SO over winter!

DH had his last radiation treatment today. The team awarded him a graduation certificate!! Next up is a visit to an orthopedic oncologist. I never knew all these specialty practices existed!

Stay safe, stay happy & wear your mask!

I’m with you on winter but I’m sure we’re not done for a while, sadly.

So glad to hear that your DH is getting such excellent treatments.

Great news!  Hope they played Pomp & Circumstance for him as he left!
