Are Pinnacle Club members allowed into the Suite Lounge on Oasis?

Okay, I’ll hop in with my opinion. When I change it in 6 months, someone will find the this post and delicately bring it to my attention.

D’s should have the free drinks loaded to their Seapass card, whatever amount Royal seems appropriate. Should be good all day.

D+ use the existing D lounge. Appropriate number of drinks added to Seapass card. Good all day .

Their should be a “dynamic” decision made, cruise by cruise, as to whether P’s get access to SL. Royal can figure it out. If there is more than ‘X’ P’s on the cruise, then it’s suite guests only. Use another locale as a “floating” P lounge. I don’t know what “X” is, but given size of SL, Royal can figure it out. Suite guests should have some assurance that the SL will be available most times for their use. Same goes for CK.

This last part is not a lot different than they have been doing on the last few “troublesome” cruises. It should be stated and written down so everyone knows the deal.

I feel better now.

Exactly my thoughts!  ^

I seriously thought the Ds were going "voucher only" when the program first came out.  But obviously that did not happen.  As brand new D...I would be thrilled to have 3 drinks free a night.  Maybe give them specialty coffee vouchers as well.

And most of us remember when Ds were kicked out of the CL.  We adjusted.  😉

For the most part this seems to be a hot topic for Oasis class given their much higher number of suites given the space dedicated to the lounge

This thread was a question about Ossis (Class). I have never been on Quantum Class ship. We do have Odyssey booked in December. Eagerly waiting to see what the Lounge is called on her.

Weren’t you contacted to book reservations before boarding?  If I booked a suite on a ship with Coastal Kitchen I would book early through the concierge.  You can always cancel some of the reservations while onboard if dinner plans change.

Boarding day lounges are always busy, IMHO.  Seems everyone is anxious to start socializing!  We are Pinnacle and have never wanted for a seat in any of the lounges.  We do not, however, usually go to a lounge as soon as Happy Hour starts.  We also do not save seats.  A good concierge will end that practice if it becomes a problem during a specific voyage.  Katherine

Every single one of my Oasis class ships, indeed the SL concierge emailed us a week in advance. I have always made my reservations that way.  🙂

And same thing...never had a problem finding a seat during happy hour.  We come in half hour after first seating has occurred.  The march to the dining room with drinks in hand is ...wow.  Happy to get out of their way!!  😉

Actually, the letter from Concierge says nothing about making dinner reservations for the CK. Read a past letter. They generally say something about cabanas, to reserve one now, but nothing about making reservations ahead of time for CK. It says reservations required but nothing about responding to the email for reservations.

I believe onboard B2B Pinnacles have made reservations the previous week for CK dinning.

Time to stir the pot...

If they are going to spend the energy to address the situation then cheap casino upgrades need to evaluated.  This subset of suites guests aren't paying the same price as regular suites guests so if years of Pinnacle spend isn't good enough then heavily discounted suite fares shouldn't be either.

Is a gambler who is the benefactor of heavily discounted fares really not going to sail if they can't have a cheap suite?  Is a free non-suite cabin not good enough reason to cruise?  These folks already get free drinks in the casino which is where Royal wants them to be, not hanging out in the suite lounge drinking.  Royal doesn't want them hanging around in a suite, motivate them to be in the casino by placing them in cabin that will do so.

Same with a cheap upgrade to a full suite from the RoyalUp program.  Why should a guest paying heavily discounted fares reap all the benefits?  No double points, no suite lounge.  For a cheap RoyalUp upgrade you get a much nicer cabin but no suite perks beyond that.

Seems fair.

You need to factor in the $ they spend in the Casino. It should be included. The reason I say go by $ spent.

Sure...Pinnacle only lounge would make sense on Oasis class ships, but what about the smaller ships...not ALL of us cruise on the large ladies.  I like to mix it up.  🙂

This thread is as supposed to be about Oasis (Class). My argument is a bit different on ships with just a CL and no CK. My suggestions only apply to Oasis Class ships.

Headed out to Bikeweek. I’ll catch up later. 😇

As long as the Pinnie numbers are high on Oasis class ships...yes, I agree with you.  John can attest to that on the last President's cruise.  It was a lovely set up in Dazzles. Very elegant.

OMG!!  Did I just say that I agreed with you??!!  Need more coffee!!  😄 😄

We were also last on the Harmony.  Suite concierge were Checker and Mohamed.  The lounge was pretty full.  Many pinnacle members in the lounge.  They wear a pinnacle pin to identify themselves.  They did also have a diamond lounge, but the suite lounge IMO is nicer.  Nice outside views in suite lounge- the diamond lounge was low down and no windows.

We are scheduled in a suite, on the Oasis during 2021.  Not sure if the policy regarding Pinnacle members will be modified.

Did you happen to know how many of those "pin wearers" were also booked in suites.  😉

In the 2 to 3 months preceding covid, Anthem's lounge was still a CL, but consistently only Suite and Pinnacle guests were allowed in. In January, one of the officers let it slip that it was going to be that way from then on.

If they are any good, they aren't spending a lot 🙂

I don't normally wear my pin in the SL.  Sure will do now, especially when I'm im Sky or Star class 🙂

When I used to fly a lot I was top tier on two airlines.  I used to put an old tag on my laptop bag that made it look like I was a junior entry level member in the program.  Should have seen the looks when I was upgraded.  Frequent flyers get pretty heated over a missed upgrade or one that was "stolen" from them.  They make this crowd look pretty tame.

Bottom line... their ship, their rules.

Exactly.  😉  If wearing the pin makes people annoyed...then I have done my job.  😄

I have NEVER said or suggested that Pinnacles in a Suite shouldn’t have all the same amenities as every other Suite guest plus their Pinnacle perks.

I know several Pinnacles that book Suites and a couple that book Star Class.

If it sails in May I'm in Star but I'm not holding my breath waiting for a Genie to contact me.  Still, the notion of being able to think about wearing my pin in the SL or for a CK breakfast warms my heart.

I havent seen these "cheap" upgrades, but maybe they exist. I was told if you use royal up to a suite, you dont get the extra loyalty pt for staying in a suite, nor would double pts be anything but what you originally booked.

You have to book a suite and pay full price to get suite pts, or double suit pts you mention.
