VIFP Platinum and Diamond Guest Update letter

Did my fellow high-status Carnival members get this letter from Christine Duffy?  I couldn't find any discussion on it, but then again it might have been swarmed by discussion of other subjects in the past day.

Anyway, the letter lists several items that P&D members should be aware of, and that we've mostly discussed already in scattered threads:

  • Pick up the brunch beverage in the MDR
  • Pick up the freebie bottled water (1.5 liters!) at any bar
  • Request the chocolate delight from room service to have it delivered
  • Pick up the logo gift and ship pin at the photo gallery
  • Online check-in starts 2 days early for us
  • Please arrive promptly for your selected appointment time; your Plat/Diamond card won't help you if you arrive early
  • Staterooms may not be ready early, but you can always drop off your luggage and scoot
  • Water shuttle priority may vary based on port and their local guidance
  • No casino tournaments, but all P&D members are given $25 in Casino FunPlay
  • Priority disembarkation may not be available if there are too many P&D passengers

Is this new as I've seen this in several other threads where to pick up stuff. Dont remember if it was a christine duffy letter but seems the same as what john has said.

I dont remember a email but dont see anything new.

I got the letter earlier today.  The letter is new, the news... maybe not so much.

Perhaps this was only sent to members who have cruises booked in the next few months.  Finding out if that's true was part of the reason why I posted.

I did not get it either and we cruise end of October.  Didn't realize we could drop off luggage and scoot.  I had not seen this anywhere before.  One thing I just saw on my planner was the ability to buy FTTF.  I find this a little annoying if Platinum and Diamond are not being granted early boarding.

I've seen reported that it shows as available but cannot actually be purchased once someone tries to put it in their cart. It is definitely not being utilized at this point.

I got a Gold level specific email same concept. Sailing 8/21.

VIFP GOLD GUESTS UPDATE

Dear Valued Gold Guests,

This communication is being sent to our booked Gold guests.  It is independent from any request our guests might have pending for an exemption to vaccine requirements, and the receipt of this communication is not any indication of the status of your request.

We are eager to get back to cruising and want to thank you for the loyalty and support you have shown Carnival.

As we plan for the restart of our operations, we want to make you aware of the new way you will redeem your VIFP amenities.  These changes were designed in accordance with our new Have Fun. Be Safe. protocols to minimize the number of stateroom deliveries, while making it easier for you to collect some of your benefits.

Moving forward, VIFP amenities will be linked to your Sail & Sign folio for electronic redemption.  Simply claim your benefit using your Sail & Sign card and a one-time credit for that item will be posted on your folio and will be visible on your statement.

Complimentary Beverages
  • 1.5L Bottled Water – redeemable from any bar
  • “Gold” Beverage (on 5+ day Cruises) – redeemable from any bar on the last sea day after 5PM
Carnival Ship Pin

To collect your Carnival ship pin, please visit the Photo Gallery with your Sail & Sign.  We encourage you to claim your gift no later than two days prior to the end of your cruise.

We thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through our restart plans.  Your continued support means a lot to us and our great staff and crew can’t wait to welcome you back on board!

We got this email at the same time they invited us to check-in for our upcoming cruise (it is 8/21/21).

Can someone clarify for me, in regards to the "all P&D members are given $25 in Casino FunPlay" - is that only on the longer cruises?

We were recently on the Breeze and did not receive the $25, but maybe that was because it was only 4 nights?  I didn't have the email handy last time, so I just let it go, but will ask this time if we don't have it.

We sail in less than 2 weeks and did not receive this.  We did our Diamond check in 16 days prior.  We have not even received the memo about the changes in covid tests and masks. We do get things from Carnival but not this.

I don't know about shorter or longer cruises, but on the Vista last week (7 nights) we had to go to the casino cashier and have it added... it didn't just automatically show up on our cards.

Yep, my dumb self went to the casino, wasted 30 bucks thinking I had 25 free automatically. Got the invoice at the end of the cruise…..nope! Not free! Definitely gotta talk to the cage person dealio cashier person first.

Scheduled to sail 9/4, but have not received this letter, nor have we received the new protocols letter. I've learned about both on these boards, albeit ever so painfully!  😷 I bet the entire CCL letter/e-mail delivery system is a jammed mess right now, along with their phone lines.  That's life as a cruiser these days....

Ditto for us, nothing official from corporate during all this. Did final check in today, so I know we're going... but still..? Thank goodness for CC forums.
