I have been on Majestic once, but I have not been on the current voyages and have no plans to cruise in 2021.

We're doing mid January 2022-End of February 2022.  Hoping things are better by then. Are you doing 2022?

Actually, Dan is leaving after this cruise, I believe  he is bringing out the Enchanted. DuVaul is already on board isolating and will be taking over next cruise.

Interesting!  When I spoke to him at the M&G it sounded like he would be on for a while.  I know that our waitstaff thought that they may be shifted to a different ship at some point since they have experience with the new features of the app.  Although they said that all of the crew features weren't working just yet, such as placing food orders through the app.  They were still placing orders the old way, at least as of last week.

@minaI have a separate casino bank which is loaded from my shipboard account. I log on. Transfer funds in. OBC are subtracted from my shipboard account and now sit in my casino bank. Cash out final day.

The problem may be only for those running a slot pull. In the past, I could zero out my casino bank. Reload it with players money. Run it. Cash out & disperse.

Reload my $s. Thats where the problem was. And it's new to me on this trip

Tagging 2 who are running future slot pulls: @CineGraphic and @Days @ C. Sort of :: have casino mgr delete block immediately so you can reload your personal funds

Thanks for the warning!

I've never had a problem before, and have withdrawn cash several times mid-cruise, when I'd rather have my winnings in my pocket or in our room safe instead of on account.

I always try to meet the casino manager or host on embarkation day to give them a heads-up about our group slot pull. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

Yes, you could call it a casino "bank".  It is funds associated with your personal Medallion, plus a unique 4-digit passcode for casino play.  You deposit funds to it either by presenting cash at the casino cashier window or by charging your cabin account while playing (OBC is not subtracted from your cabin folio - rather, a charge is made to the folio equal to the casino funds requested and that charge can be offset by OBC or cash deposited to your shipboard account at the Passenger Services Desk - PSD).

You could leave your personal funds on your casino account, add the slot pull funds, play the slot pull, and then cash out the net balance from the slot pull, returning you to your original personal balance.  Means less cash-out transactions I am thinking.

That is disappointing.  I was looking forward to having him again as CD.  How is DuVaul?  I understand that you organized the meet and greet.  I am trying to set one up for our Sept. 5 sailing.  Who was the contact person you set it up with?

Whoops.  I just realized you didn't organized it.  Sorry.

I just read that you set up the meet & greet for your cruise.  Please share with me who your contact person was.  I am trying to set one up for our Sept 5 sailing.  Thanks, Meredith

I organized it and can answer.  Send an email here telling them the date and ship and Diana Hall will tell you what she needs to know (# of people attending etc.): grouponboardservices@princesscruises.com .  She will also tell you the venue, time and date that she is assigning.

DuVaul is nice. He was the CD on my last Princess cruise--on the Caribbean Princess to the Panama Canal (partial) in December 2019. So I guess it's fitting that he's going to be the CD next week for my first cruise back. He was also on our Caribbean Princess cruise around the British Isles back in 2017 as well--but not as a CD, just one of the assistant CDs back then.

As for the Medallion app, now that I've cruised, I see it can have some benefits; however, I am not yet a fan. I think Princess was too ambitious in what they wanted to accomplish, and should have started the app with a much narrower focus, and expanded its capabilities over time.

Well said!!

Thank you so much.  I will send an email directly to her.

We had DuVal as AD to Hawaii and CD thru the Panama Canal. He's obnoxious and rude to people. I'm disappointed to hear this.

How 'formal' were formal nights?

Thanks...

Not super formal.  We were on the initial sailing back in July and Jan Swartz was onboard.  We were at the Captain’s party on formal night and she was wearing a very gorgeous pantsuit!  Her husband was in a suit and tie.  I had a pair of dress pants with a sparkly / chiffon top and felt like I fit in well with the other guests.  I’m not sure if I even saw one man in a tux.

Hi my friend!  We had a lot of tuxes and gorgeous floor length gowns on the first formal night around the piazza. It was like I was on the QM2 again lol. Probably just some formal night portraits that were loooooong overdue. Second formal night was definitely a lot less formal.
And you looked quite pretty at the Captains party.

Awe ... so sweet of you!!  Thanks and you looked so elegant, too!!  There is a really cute pic that Kenny took of the two of us ... I just love it!!!  We are both so happy.

It's funny I don't even recall what others were wearing on the first formal night other than nobody stuck out as being dressed very formally.  Isn't that the case in all cruises, though?  We can both be on the same ship doing the same things and we view it very differently.

We had our first formal night last night. There were several women in lovely gowns and dresses. I did not see any men in tuxedos. They were not enforcing any dress code for the dining room. I saw a man in jeans and a polo shirt in my dining room. Someone else took a photo of someone enter on of the dining room in shorts and posted it on my live thread. There were lots of men in sports coats, a few in suits, some with dress shirts with ties, and some with dress shirts without ties.

Would be incredible if we had clear skies. It’s very dark here over the bridge as you might imagine. I would take this mini suite over every other cabin on this ship. Loving it - other than the weather.

I know this was a while back, but was the wind too much? I'm trying to decide between one of these mini-suites and an aft balcony, and I am hoping to spend a lot of time on the balcony watching the glaciers go by. Cheers

It was quite a bit windy on our cruise but then we had "atmospheric rivers" and significant waves too so it's probably not a good representation of what it would normally be.  We actually have the same exact cabin reserved on the Regal Princess in February and will probably be in a better position to speak about the wind then.  But generally you will feel the wind more when you're heading into it, aft cabin balconies are definitely more protected.

Thank you for letting me know. It's my first cruise, so I really don't know what I'm in for but have always dreamed of seeing Glacier Bay and your experienced perspective is very much appreciated! That you want ahead and reserved a similar room in February says a lot about your thoughts about the room. I hope you enjoy your cruise!
