Thanks so much for posting that.    My TA said that one of our cabins was protected but not the suite.   I do not understand that.

I would definitely question that comment and surprised your agent didn't question it

She just returned from vacation and is up to her eyebrows in emails and other issues with all of her clients.    She did call Princess and sent me five emails.    I hate to bother her anymore.   Yes, I know it is her job but I don't want to have her throw up her hands and retire on me.

I have to believe the itinerary and fares we are searching on these hidden Princess documents are incorrect. I have gone from an obstructed view to a balcony obstructed view stateroom on our 13-day cruise tour and the fare increase for my wife and I is nearly $1450.00. Added to that, I noticed all of our FCCs have disappeared on the new Royal redeployment pricing. I have sailed both the Royal and the Sapphire and do not have an issue with the ship change. The loss of Ketchikan is disappointing, but not a game changer. However, a $2,000.00 increase in fares, when our 8/31/21 redeployment email stated fares would be protected, is the breaking point that could end a 16-year relationship with Princess. For now I am hoping this preliminary look at the Royal fares was a computer automated release that was never intended for our viewing.

Found my new assignment using the workaround switching to itenerary instead of summary and then actually looking at the itenerary.  I was so excited about the huge deck on a S4 on Sapphire that I booked it.  Normally I would only book a balcony room, not a suite.  At most, maybe I would have booked the mini-suite.   Like most of you, this trip was already postponed from 2021.  This is a big anniversary trip for us.   I recently looked at comparable rooms on the Royal and did not see that they had S4.  BUT now they show S4 suites.  New room is listed as S4 on the Riveria deck.  Small balcony.  When this irons out, I plan to see if I can find a mini-suite or balcony and rebook.  This S4 is to me very expensive for what it is.  For me- the Sapphire balcony is what sold me on the suite splurge.  Anyone travel in any of the Royal R600 suites who can share any info that might help me make my decision?

actually I just had to sign in again and the summary change no longer worked.  What worked for me was to go to "book excursions" after logging in.  From there near top click on "boarding pass and travel summary" and then mid page click on  "print travel summary" and there my new room assignment and itinerary shows up.

Thank you!  This may end up leading to us cancelling then.  It's a shame, but my husband is tall and he won't be happy to be that squished on a cruise like this.

We recently had a standard balcony on the Majestic. I'd heard lots about how small the balconies are and that two people couldn't comfortably sit looking out at the ocean. That turned out to not be true of our balcony, L114, and my tall, long-legged husband was able to site looking out without being squished. This is just our experience, and I'm sure others have thought otherwise.

Speak for yourself, but if I can't pull at least one of my mattresses off the bed so I can sleep outside without touching any barriers and wake up to sea breezes and ocean air each morning, I refuse to sail on that class of ship. 😉

Seriously though, I sailed on Regal in early 2020, and being 6'1 with long legs, I also had no issue with the balcony.

Going to go out on a limb here and guess the reason the docs are "hidden" is because they're still adjusting the fares/perks to carry over from the prior booking.

For us, on the Southbound from Whittier next June we loose Ketchikan for Victoria. It is my assumptions is since the Royal is a larger ship, it cannot go through the inside passage.

We were going to do the float plane to Misty Fjords out of Ketchikan. For Victoria, it appears our excursion options are very limited.

Originally we were to sail June 2021 and now The Royal is now our 4th ship we have been assigned to for our Alaska Cruise. I am just ready to go.

I believe that's exactly what I did! 😂

I am very upset about this change especially not going to Ketchikan.  I was so looking forward to  it.  I guess there is nothing we can do about it at this time.  I still did not get my cabin assignment yet.  We had a middle covered balcony on the Lido Deck on the Sapphire.  How will it work on the Royal?  Is there a Lido deck on that ship.  I wanted to be close to everything because of my husband's bad foot.

Not sure it would help but wonder if everyone sent Jan Swartz a letter expressing our disappointment in the itenerary change , would they do anything.   Our luck they would change the ship again, and we would have to go through all of this again.    We have been trying to book this since 2020 so, not sure but this may be our 7th ship change.

Discovery and Majestic are still calling on Ketchikan and doing the inside passage.  Aren't they the same size as the Royal????

I know someone who took an air mattress and slept on the balcony each night on a 19 day partial Panama Canal cruise. He said it was great!

Did you book with a TA or do you own this booking?

Why would the fares change?  The cruise was price protected.

I believe the fares being indicated (on our hidden documents) is the current pricing for the select staterooms on Royal and that pricing has not been adjusted to reflect the original purchase price for Sapphire.

Our premium deluxe balcony fare was protected but not our suite.   Everyone posting that had a suite, had their fares increase.     Why????

I have a suite and my cruise price did not increase.

We are still waiting for a new invoice for our B2B in August.  Our PVP said she would make sure the price protection would be done.  We were in a S6 and the Royal does not have those.  I imagine they will put us in a S5.  They should keep out price and perks (we have $750 in casino free play and 2 specialty dinners on each leg)
