Rare dides Posted September 3, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2021 Just boarded a 3 night cruise on Sky Princess out of the UK. We are in a suite and noticed a different offering on our suite welcome letter: a Suite Lounge Cocktail Hour session in the Concierge Lounge from 5 to 7pm with complimentary drinks being served. We popped in tonight and had a couple of drinks - they had mostly spirits with mixers or wine. Served most attentively by two wait staff. They also had the usual nibbles. It was very enjoyable - the Concierge said they were looking to roll it out to all Royal class ships at some point 8
Rare azbirdmom Posted September 3, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2021 Very nice! We've never had this when we have sailed in suites on a Royal class ship but I recall that there were a couple of reports of this popping up pre-pandemic. First time we enjoyed this was on the Sky, last cruise before shutdown. One evening the Captain and some senior officers joined the group which was an added nice touch.
Allcruiser Posted September 3, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 3, 2021 Was this just for full suite guests or does it include Mini suites as well?

memoak Posted September 3, 2021 #7 Share Posted September 3, 2021 If you are on Princess Plus it really doesn't matter does it ? Except for a less crowded venue but no piano player ? 1

We are full suite 22/10 next and get speciality dining first night. Was conceirge lounge hostess able to book what you wanted or do you think it may be better to book speciality in advance? Loucat Posted September 7, 2021 #11 Share Posted September 7, 2021 Strange- We sailed Regal in early January 2019 and were invited to a suite Cocktail Hour by the concierge. It was quite nice with the usual tasty treats and drink offerings. Wondering why this now seems to be a new feature? We had a suite directly across from the lounge so it was very convenient. Other posters mentioned that they started introducing it pre-pandemic but it certainly wasn't on Regal last month. So maybe it's getting a re-launch
Treasure Hunter Posted September 7, 2021 #13 Share Posted September 7, 2021 We had it February 2020 on the Regal. Very nice. The concierge booked the first night specialty dinner for us ( made a change in the time) and every other thing we wanted.
dwhe Posted September 7, 2021 #14 Share Posted September 7, 2021 I booked the complementary first night speciality dinner via the app a month before we sail, it was very easy.

Coveguy4 Posted September 7, 2021 #17 Share Posted September 7, 2021 We had the concierge lounge on the Royal in Dec 2019. It was great..... Besides the happy hour, it included great food to nosh on and a fantastic coffee machine to make specialty coffees. The host would make your specialty reservations for you .. It was located across from the wedding chapel, and you had a card to swipe to gain admittance
Rare 4cats4me Posted September 7, 2021 #18 Share Posted September 7, 2021 This was happening on the Royal back in April 2019. Very nice.
Loucat Posted September 12, 2021 #19 Share Posted September 12, 2021 Coveguy4-We had the same type of experience on Regal. Great lounge with a low volume wedding chapel😆. Concierge was lovely and she was so into the holidays and really loved decorating her office area in the lounge. Happy memories and the best Christmas cake ever.

We enjoyed going there at all hours of the day to have a quiet space in comfort that was always stocked with various items for a snack or beverage. The one possible downside is that it's too bad that the venue doesn't have a view outside the ship, but......that won't deter us from being there in the future.
