Hey......thank you.  Will I see you at the auction?

I don't suppose anyone knows where they do the auction on the Infinity?

I won't be on the Infinity.

On the M&S class ships we've been on, including the Infinity(2017) the art auction was always held in the Rendezvous Lounge.

Thanks.  I guess I'll hang out and wait.

Giclée - a term invented in the early 90's for inkjet on canvas.  Oh, these have a few daubs of paint added to give it some texture.

Oh, it won't be the one I see here on the ship?  You'll send me another from your factory?

Yeah, give me some of that!

Not.

For whatever reason we have picked up mostly traditional water colors by a Chinese artist in California and some very modern water colors from New Zealand, Angus de Lange.

There is nothing we would want from the art auction except to watch and pass the time.

SUCKER ART They are mass produced in Chinese factories on canvases. Paint is then applied to make them look like originals.

Well with lithographs they will at least mark 32/500.  Of course they're all the same.

A few of the joys of cruising on a luxury ship is there are no photographers, no art auctions, and no sale tables of junk taking up space.

Gee.  What's the point of cruising then?  You might as well get rid of the casino.  Cough Viking cough.

Am happy if they have no casino and use the space for something more worthwhile :).  Viking seems to do fine without casinos.

I saw a dog do a pretty good job as well... but I have a few friends who have been working in the field for decades and it is really difficult to break out... just saying it would be nice to see some new artists... kinda tired of seeing the same Peter Max etc over and over again.

They have resident artists whose work they carry exclusively. Hence all the Peter Max etc. T%heir under a contract of sorts.

well then...go take a luxury cruise...or perhaps you'd rather get a kick out of pointing out the participants and laughing at how worthlessly they spend their time?  That's why cruise ships have a variety of activities all over the ship. Different things appeal to different people.  Personally that new "Deal No Deal" replacement for Bingo (and Bingo too for that matter) is a total scam. But... I appreciate that some people like it.

Sheesh, he was just stating his opinion on his joys of cruising on a luxury ship, don't see anywhere he was making fun of anyone in the post.

Reminds me of time share "opportunities of a lifetime". No thanks.

It's also like those financial seminar dinners.  I've been to a few.  Sometimes the food is good.  Haven't given anyone my money yet.
