Most carry ons are 21 or 22" so you should be ok

Yes, 22” will fit easily.

the font, however, is difficult to read for my old eyes.

That is the height of the carryon, the OP is taking about width.  The 22"  carryons are only about 14" wide.

To the OP, I have been able to fit a 30" suitcase that is 19" wide with no issues.

I believe many of the X-ray machines are 24in wide.

Does anyone know if the x-ray scanner can accommodate luggage that wide?

Leave large pieces with the porters. Otherwise you will  you will struggle at security, you will struggle getting a big bag up the  gangway, you will be dragging the bag through the dining room.

Thank you for your advice, but your reply does not answer my question.

Post #7 had the answer - most ports use the same x-ray format machines used at airports and is generally 24" wide (and about 16" high).

Repost with larger font

The font is still unacceptable

But I will add that the STAR passengers get all their luggage scanned at entrance. So I'm pretty sure anything fits.

No further comments are necessary.....I have the information I requred.

Thanks to all.

Have you been on Cruise Critic before? Having the question answered had never stopped further commentary...

Worst case scenario, you take the suitcase back outside and check it

Enjoy your cruise
