My PCC told me about a month ago that Capacity was around 65%. Definitely would be nice if it stayed at that number!
CruiserBruce Posted November 4, 2021 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2021 It's been discussed several times around the board. You will find out when you are on board. Probably between 50 and 70%.
KirkNC Posted November 4, 2021 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2021 I think the demand on near term cruises is softer then the lines want to admit. On this sailing there is availability in every category but vista suites.
sansterre Posted November 4, 2021 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2021 Just off the Rotterdam Vii with 900 on board. We were told by various staff members that around 800 will get on board for Nov. 5 sailing and 1900 are booked for Nov, 10 sailing!

Yep, we were told by Seth (the brand ambassador) that the ship was at 47% capacity (Rotterdam TA) but not by choice.... As mentioned previously, demand is off.....not by cruise ship choice.....They need to fill these ships up so we can keep cruising.

The TA doesn’t truly represent those that were planning on sailing since HAL cancelled all Canadians & non U.S. citizens/permanent residents due to the U.S. regulations to enter. There are a number of us that had the rug pulled out from our TA’s this fall and were cancelled. The TA’s would have a significantly higher percentage on board if that had not been the case. Agree Kazu...the TA is an anomoly in many ways....but I see lots of low prices for cruises in the next 90 days (not just HAL) and the hassles of cruising today have to be having an impact on folks throwing in the towel....not worth the hassle....And hearing from others that capacity is low on other sailings. The TA sailed at 47% (per Seth) but I heard that even with the non USA, it would have only been at 60% and you could still book it. They can't continue that and make $$$. We are cruise crazy peeps so we will put up with aggravation but others will bolt with the 1) must be vaccinated 2) must be tested w/a certain test by a certain time window 3) must wear a mask on cruise 4) can't take the kiddos unless vaccinated 5)might not be allowed in port 6) airline may not have staff to get me to the port....Lots for peeps to sort out and I'm afraid some are not up to the challenge. Floridastorm Posted November 15, 2021 #11 Share Posted November 15, 2021 I Googled it and according to some knowledgeable sources the below cruise lines did not require masks on board although they did require the vaccination and PCR Test. I have no idea how accurate the information is but it seemed to come from a reliable source that is part of the cruise industry. You are correct in listing all the challenges . We purposely pushed our B2B Mexico cruises to Dec 3rd & 10th ,2022 & our Hawaii cruise Jan31 ,2023 .Our reasoning is we prefer not to have all these hassles . We are in our 80s & it is too much for us .We can get packed as normal ;but ,these extra tasks well we feel are more suited to younger folks .Much easier for us to take a car trip We love cruising & we certainly hope for the best when our final payment approaches that things are different or we most likely cancel , if they are as of now The cruise lines will have it tough unless things loosen up ,imo

jeh10641 Posted November 16, 2021 #16 Share Posted November 16, 2021 Hi, All, Changed my font to normal because of readability issues in iPads. We are 80ish but will not let the added protocols stop us from cruising. We are just allowing more time to accomplish the same things that were brief in the past. ALL guests will be required to wear a face mask – with no exceptions – in elevators and in designated indoor entertainment areas, all retail shops, and in the casino except when eating or drinking. Guests will also be required to wear face masks prior to being seated in our main dining rooms and in the buffet area, and occasionally in other designated areas where larger number of guests may congregate. As a reminder, masks are required during embark and debark in the terminal, and masks should also be worn during the debarkation process on board.
