Which ones are on Cheryl?

Im on the one to Kangaroo island and the Melbourne/Hobart at the end of January

December to QLD. We booked on board in April and when I got home I noticed the price had dropped, only slightly but a drop of $250.00.Better than nothing.

I was looking at that December cruise ,it’s an overnight in Cairns but I just couldn’t get anyone motivated.

Then all of a sudden it almost filled up and the price jumped. So I give up, it’s hard to organise people.

A overnight in Cairns is pretty good.

I actually think I paid too much thru the ship, but a bit happier now. Our son lives in Cairns, so docking in Cairns and an overnighter works for us!

I agree offers on the ship rarely are the best deal in the long run.  How wonderful to dock in Cairns where your lucky son lives.

I was looking at that cruise.  Brilliance and overnight in Cairns was very appealing but running low on annual leave atm.  Booked a 3 day cruise on Ovation instead, which also had a price drop.

Thanks Chilli

I suppose it won’t be long until Spectrum and Anthem make an appearance on that list.

It can’t be long and also TUI have a ship doing a couple of turns, it’s one of RCG ships.

It’s a bit of a long shot but there now seems to be strong evidence Utopia will be home porting in Cape Canaveral mid next year.
It could bump an Oasis ,possibly Wonder to Asia ?

On onboard charges are in $US

I won’t cruise on ships from Australia which charge in US$, so I can stop looking. There is too big a difference between value of Aussie dollar and US $

Lots of Royal’s high tier cruisers don’t even spend $1 onboard.

The original comment was about $US onboard.

If I buy anything like shore excursions , I buy before the cruise which would be in $AU.

But the ship excursions are pretty expensive so I don’t bother much.

I do get free drinks and sometimes have a OBC but excluding that I don’t think I have ever had a bill more than $300 ever when I got home.

I don’t know why people panic about the foreign currency onboard

The Deployment list for Ovation shows the October 2024 Trans Pacific Hawaii to Sydney.

The first cruise on the Quantum list is 1 December 2024 from Brisbane. No Singapore repositioning to Brisbane.

That’s a bit of a late start to the season,1st December.

There might be another ship to make a cameo to fill in ?

Don’t think so.
Carnival and Princess are having a shorter season in Brisbane also. I believe Luminosa is doing the Royal music charters also from Sydney.

I think its a mistake by RCL by only having those two mammoths. Plus add in the negative that onboard its US dollars sailing out of Australia waters. Who wants to deal with that. You have to factor that in to your calculations.

Especially when the Brillance was the best selling of the three ships in current season.

Using the Quantum Class on the other side of the deployment in Alaska is causing issues in Skagway with a pier being out of action. Skagway is a must for me on the Alaska being a train buff.

I just think the ships are just too big for multiple destinations now. They need to be max 3000 passenger size.
