I've got a backup at my hotel in FLL just in case - they are offering free tests!  (Riverside on Las Olas) !   I've seen many reports here and on TripAdvisor of Brits getting tested at CVS/Walgreens with no issues.

I think you are on before me - please report back!

Yes I will do, and thanks 👍

We are on the apex now. First day of cruise it was announced that there were 1,644 passengers on board. Said they will not go above 60%. Said the 1,644 was just above 50 percent for the Apex

Head waiter said they break even at 30%. It is noticeably nicer with fewer people. We love it!

Got to head to the sun deck now. No problem getting chairs and no wait lines for anything. Catch you later.

REMINDER ~ if you are not on Apex now or asking a question of those who are, Do NOT post other items in this thread as they are considered off topic and will be removed.  Please keep the discussion on what's happening on Apex now.

We appreciate your cooperation.

Have shows been cancelled?  We're scheduled for Jan 15 sailing.

There is not a way to determine next weeks passenger count.

We are on Apex currently.

This week was scheduled according to Guest relations for just over 2000.

When we boarded and sailed over an hour late there were many key cards without luggage on deck 11 that we walked by.

When asked yesterday, Guest relations said the passenger number was 1629.

There were a few people on boarding day taken off ship we saw, for unknown reasons.

Weather was not good in US on boarding day, which could account for the less the expected passenger count.

On the assigned dining room question.

When booked we requested traditional one dining room dining with same table.

When we boarded we had a card that said please join us at Cosmopolitan between 5:45pm and 9:30pm or with Celebrity Anytime Dining , any of our other main dining rooms.

We have walked in to any restaurant and been seated within 2 minutes,

Fine Cut, Eden, Garden rooftop, Cyprus, Normandie.

There are no crowds per se.

Enjoy - Your mileage may vary next week.

All the shows and scheduled events are taking place.

No lines anywhere, all the pool chairs you want take two, there's room.

Based on what you're reporting and others with similar experiences the Apex may have done away with Traditional Dining and put everyone on Select. Probably due to the lower passenger counts.

I am really sorry as the OP here. I tried posting a couple days ago but couldn’t to everyone’s posts. Anyway, DH did indeed test positive. Results came in around 11pm last night. Great job CVS on the PCR. Results in a little over 24hrs. Tested at 4:30PM and received them at 11PM the following day.

This Omicron is so contagious right now. We arrived home today after driving to find out everyone here we know has it. Our family in another state has it only because he has to be tested because of his profession. All asymptomatic or mild. Our adult son and GF are traveling too. They had their test to travel back to the US and have tested positive to their surprise. Unfortunately, they are there to stay until they can test positive to fly back.

So torn. We had regretted cruising since we contracted it even though one of our best cruises, but given what we know after returning, it seems like we would have caught it either way.

The worst part is we most likely passed it to people unknowingly and hopefully the person or persons we contracted it from were asymptomatic. Big takeaway on all this is be vaxxed and boosted. If we weren’t, I don’t even want to know or find out.

Happy New Year all!!!

Oops. I’m not the OP. Thought this was my thread I posted about. I was just too quick with my notifications.

I'm on Apex on the last day of the Apex NYE cruise. The first few days were nice, but we were anxious that most passengers were not wearing masks. We let down our guard, too. On NYE, I was feeling tired and had congestion. I self tested in my cabin, and it was positive. Being responsible, I contacted Medical. They sent a team in hazmat suits to do an in-room PCR test. Results in an hour and it was positive. They informed me I'd have to relocate to a special pressurized cabin on deck 3 and that I'd be in isolation for the remainder of the cruise. Surreal to be led down the hall by 3 crew members in full hazmat gear. I moved from an Aqua Class cabin to a cabin that can only be described as Spartan. I feel like I'm being punished for being responsible and doing the right thing. Little to no information on board regarding COVID status of guests and crew. An occasional captain's announcement couched in the most positive terms. If you happen to be in a public area to hear it, you'll hear that a few more guests have reported to Medical and are in quarantine. But no mention of how many guests (or crew) have tested positive. I now know that my location is called the "Red Zone" and that there seems to be a large team of crew dedicated to this area, based on the number of different people I've encountered as they drop off food, towels, etc. I have no idea how many of us are down here. It's scary, and I can't wait to get off the ship. I feel like I'm being held captive.

Currently on APEX now. Day 7. Nassau. Parked in front of the Utopia IV super yacht that collided with a tanker a few days ago. Google for related news.

- Several confirmed cases on board. Captain announced 5 cases on 12/31. I think the number is now 7-10.
- Tree of Life and Crystallize production shows cancelled due to COVID concerns. Replaced with comedy and singing acts along with a second Caravan show.
- Mask wearing is up. From 5 percent on Day 1 to about 20-25 percent now. Many seem oblivious and/or don’t care. Others worried about flight cancellations.
- NYE festivities were mostly outdoors on Decks 14-15. The champagne flowed for hours courtesy of Celebrity. Some pax jumped into the pool fully clothed. One poor waiter was thrown in too. But he emerged smiling and laughing.
- Two old men racing on their scooters on the Deck 15 jogging track. Funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time!

- Spent every night in the casino. Tables were full with every seat being occupied. Players were shoulder to shoulder. Many slot jackpot winners!
- Fantastic food and service all week.

Sending healing thoughts your way…thanks for providing a first hand report.

We are booked on the Edge in the beginning of February and your report is one of the reasons we will most likely cancel…too much uncertainty

Let your guard down?  Unless you were going to continuously wear a n95 mask, there was nothing but social distancing that would have given some protection; folks are getting it everyday without traveling.  Don't worry, get better, get your prorated refund for the days that you have been positive.  It will look better once you are home.

That's what I'll be doing on Saturday when we board, lol!

Fingers crossed that we will be doing the same thing with you on Saturday but socially distanced and in a disguise so we can’t be traced back lol.
