Rare Oceansaway17 Posted May 11, 2023 #253 Share Posted May 11, 2023 And the folks on west coast continue to wish one of the big girls would come to them. So again they are disappointed and rightly so.

When they haven't been filling the Navigator and she has some of the lowest per day rates around it will be a long time before you see Oasis class ship out of LA. 4

Was back on an O class in October (SYM) and it reminded of me of why I stopped cruising on them.

That's what M Bayley said "We haven't announced the deployment, but Utopia will also be going to Perfect Day," he said during the call. This means Utopia will almost certainly be homeported somewhere on the east coast of the United States. Royal Caribbean's ships don't visit CocoCay typically when based in Galveston, so that likely removes that possibility. Mr. Bayley also said Utopia will be "coming online in June. One of them has an extra sea day than the other. I’ve never noticed it before for the Oasis class western med route. Is it possible RC are creating a slot for UOS should it be ready for Summer 24? Throwing this back in the mix 😎

That leaves out Catalina Island and I have doubts that it could fit into Ensenada or many of the Mexican Riviera ports if any at all. Cabo is a tender port. Also, there is no current terminal out here that could handle this size ship. Won’t happen for many years if ever. Also, there’s nothing keeping RCI from doing cruises to Hawaii now with the NV.
Cruising89143 Posted May 12, 2023 #266 Share Posted May 12, 2023 Read an article this morning that stated Michael Bayley alluded to a possible seventh Oasis class ship after Utopia on the media tour of the Icon yesterday.
Rare twangster Posted May 12, 2023 #267 Share Posted May 12, 2023 Could you imagine an Oasis class ship plugging into shore power to satisfy CARB in CA? Half the state would go dark. 🤣

Rare RobInMN Posted May 12, 2023 #269 Share Posted May 12, 2023 A Google search comes up with a few articles back in March 22, one of which was on Cruise Critic (https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/6941/), where it said a seventh one is still possible. Wikipedia says: Negotiations about a seventh vessel, to be built as B35[74] to be delivered in 2026, were stopped in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.[75][76] So, it's entirely possible that negotiations have resumed.

At the Top Tier event on Oasis recently the Captain mentioned the seventh Oasis class ship was in the works - for what that's worth.
