Cruise price for two in balcony = $825.70 (total, not per person) + $319 (grats) = $1,144.70

DBP = $1,473.78 for two.

IMO, it looks outrageous.  😲

Does this include any casino discount?

Positive thing is we will be getting even more in $value for our diamond drinks.  😂😂

Agreed. My 5 free drinks is enough for me.

Our five drinks each are more than enough for us.  We usually drink Martini's and 2 or three before dinner is all we can handle.  We have been on three cruise since the restart and all the glasses were very full, the exception was a Bailey's at a show one night.

As far as the price, I think $13 is on the lower side of what I see at most bars and resorts.  Vegas is closer to $20.  Our Arizona Club is $14 and most of the local restaurants are over $13.

Anthem TA.  It's an obstructed OV balcony, but my particular cabin has very little obstruction.

The fuel for the 5 day post-cruise rental car in the UK will probably cost more than the cruise.  😲

That is a fabulous price for a TA.     There are decent OV balconies on deck 6 with minimal obstruction.      We have had a couple of them in the past and IMO are perfect for a TA crossing as you will see plenty of sea anyway.    Enjoy!

My gosh, I just priced up the Anthem TA crossing for May 2nd and can get 2 adults for $849.70 with port/tax fees included for obstructed balcony or $917 for standard OV.   That's crazy cheap.   I wish I could fit into my schedule.    I wonder what the casino discount would be for this one?

Except the airfare to return home is ridiculous for one way and A2S won't quote me price online.

No casino discount.  I don't think they give casino discounts to people that only play their "free" $6 (if I remember).  😄

Discounts

Resident NRD $-90.00
30% Off Every Guest $-394.00
Balc Suite NRD $-326.00
Room total (after discounts) $825.70

That's disappointed to hear.  I didn't so much mind paying per-drink prices because the bartenders were always very generous with their pours - pretty much serving doubles.

I have heard people say that there are smaller pours, but every drink I have seen made is a measured with a jigger, then some added on top.

If you get large fruity frozen drinks, they taste weak because of all the ice and fruity stuff.

I remember seeing one where they filled an empty red wine bottle with liquor and re-corked and heat sealed the foil cap.  I thought it was ingenious.  You could buy the foil seals off amazon.  Take a yeti cup or even the RCI cup for fewer trips to the room.  RCI disincentivized this when they had reasonable UBP prices, but with the price of the package in some cases being more than the cruise, it will only be a matter of time.

Not anymore. They were measuring the pours on our Symphony cruise in March. It's absurd. I love Royal, but not so sure we are going to stick with them.

I will absolutely go back to smuggling if this keeps up. #sorrynotsorry

$13 per is already somewhat high, so increasing that won't go well, however increasing the ice cubes might help.

Somewhat? I like to have an occasional rum and coke but I ain't paying that for one.

Most restaurants around here charge $12-$25 for call-brand cocktails.  My wife and I were in a hotel in Atlanta a few months back to see a show.  We stopped in the lobby bar for a nightcap and paid $27 for each cocktail.  I don't want to pay $13 for a drink, but it's an average price and comparatively fair, especially considering it's a captive audience on a cruise ship.

And that is pretty easy to catch.

Shake a bottle of wine and a bottle of spirits and watch the bubbles.

Looks good, but no desire to eat at Wonderland.  Hmm, I wonder if I could just go in and order the drink.  Nah, I doubt it.

Wonderland has a full bar and a quiet lounge area off to the side overlooking the tables below.  We have found there is often a buy one get one in the Wonderland bar sometime mid cruise.

1500 D and above on the average cruise.  6000 free drinks a day.  40,000 + free drinks a week.  Some one has to pay for all the freebees............... No more free pour and ice to the top, it is just the start. I had a Royal Zombie from the Bamboo Room. $14.95, glass was extremely narrow and filled with ice, one long draw on the straw and it would have been gone.  Even being free with a voucher I thought it was a rip off. And to add insult to injury I still left a tip.  Feel bad for someone  actually paying $14.95.

As an experiment, I just tried that.  Both had bubbles for several seconds, which then went away.  Maybe it depends on the type of spirit?

They're already doing this, not to mention smaller pours.

not true,  the pours are the same measure they have been for quite awhile.  Watch carefully and you'll see how the bartenders measure

Has anyone ever have their carry-on wine inspected that carefully?  Usually they just see bottles via x-ray in the carry-on and send us over to a person with a clipboard to check off our room number.  There doesn't even seem to be much communication between the x-ray operator and the clipboard person.  I've never had anyone physically inspect carry-on wine bottles.  I even thought that one way to get more win on board would be to have both my wife and I carry two bottles each and not mention that we "both" needed to be checked-off the list.

Yeah that price is wild.  Our 7-night September Symphony cruising cost $1150 base per person for an interior cabin.

Our October (Halloween) 7 Night (Coco Key/Labadee) Cruise for my wife and I in a Boardwalk Balcony on the Allure (near the back with great AquaTheater views from the 11th floor was just 1135.00 total. We also received $150.00 OBC from Royal in our Cruise Planner. (50.00 C&A and 100.00 NextCruise)

That sounds like an amazing price!  Was it on sale or something?
