On Wonder now!

On the TA there was no disembarkation test provided by RCI nor any available at the pier.  RCI printed the qr code for the testing center at the airport in the compass so people could make themselves appointments.

It's thirty euro at the airport if you prebook.

It is €50 without appointment.  See flycovid.com.  We used them.  Our appointment was at 1:00 pm but we were almost 90 minutes early and they took us. There were about 5-6 in each line ahead of us.  Pretty efficient.

Thank you for taking the time out of your vacation to answer my question.   So, you did not have to fill out PLF's for all of the ports on the cruise?  I also had read that there is a form that has to be filled out to return to the USA, but it is unclear if that is for citizens or non-citizens.

No forms for the ports. It's very easy getting in. Only Palms has checked our temperature. No one has checked anything other than that we had our cruise cards.

Do staff approach people who are openly coughing and sneezing to request they get tested?

I saw a guy practically cough up a lung with crew nearby. No one approached him. There is the sound of coughing, sniffling and sneezing everywhere.

Here's today's  Cruise Compass.  In answer to 2 other questions, no, I haven't been in the pool so I can't come.ent on the depth; and we're all talking about covid because Americans who catch covid abroad can't fly home -it's kind of a huge deal.

Also, the Ultimate Abyss dry slide is really fun -I've done it twice -as is the zip line.  And the Solarium buffet is super swanky. They seat you and waiters bring you your beverages and bring you a wine menu. It's a lovely hybrid between the experience of the MDR, but all the fun of a buffet (albeit a mostly Mediterranean buffet - think hummus, feta, felafel and grilled veg). I'm loving it.

How often did you test after your first symptom?  My husband and I both had Covid after our cruse in March.  For work he had to test a few times.  First two tests were negative and tested positive on the 4th day after symptoms started.  He only had allergy symptoms for a couple days and felt fine the day he tested positive.  My first test was negative and tested positive on the 5th day.  I was a little sicker as I had a sore throat.  Honestly, we won't have been testing if our firend on the cruise hadn't tested positive the day he returned.  He also felt like he had allergy problems.

when I got home which was a week. then 2 weeks later

170 reported cases of covid on the transatlantic  before  this sailing and alot of reported people  are still on board

Thanks for your report.

Hard to believe RCI would let known COVID positive customers stay on board for  a B2B.

Sailing from a different country, maybe makes a difference?

If someone is known to have covid they do not let you stay onboard for a b2b.   You will disembark along with all other passengers on disembarkment day.

Curious where did you hear the total of 170 cases from the TA?

Maybe different set of rules when not sailing from the US

From the captain

Glad he is keeping people aware of the totals, wonder if that is being done on all Royal's ships> makes you wonder doesn't it?

I’ll be on Wonder in September. Hope the situation improves by then.

Won't see us.

I was on the TA. I must have missed the announcement, but it seems like a reasonable number. Some of the shore excursions we did had cancellations - and they were due to COVID.

In Spain, masks were (and I assume still are) mandatory in all public transportation, of course including the tour busses.

Wow,  That's crazy amount of people catching Covid on that one sailing.

Sure am glad we will be sitting out our turn on sailing on Wonder in September.

Just not worth the risk for us being in another country and so far from home.

We will for sure cancel soon.

Sounds like you might be talking out of somewhere where the sun doesn't shine.

My wife and I will be on Wonder out of Rome on September 1st, we're super excited for the trip as it'll be our honeymoon.

Thank you so much for this.  If you don’t mind and get a chance to do more, we would so appreciate. But hey, if the zip line is calling that has priority.  Sounds like you are having fun and doing it all—-ultimate abyss, zip line.  Keep having a great time and stay healthy.

Hi @ladychater, can you tell me if people have been dressing up in the evenings? What about formal night?
Thanks

Thanks, that info is depressing though.  I guess that will be our first stop.  When we were on Allure in 2020 we were allowed to pre reserve entertainment before the cruise.

I agree wait until 2023 for Europe.  That is why I booked the Wonder for #6 week in FLA.  I mainly wanted to see the ship.  I loved the solarium better than other Oasis class ships. No slats or wind.

And Capt Rob did a nice Captain corner, yet on Symphony 3 weeks later, Capt Rick did not.

also I think more cases are going to arise on ships because of no masking on planes now.

But who's to say 2023 will be any better?  More variants, more boosters and round and round we go.

I'm hoping to risk it on Wonder this September, because I booked it when it was still at the Allure price and it seems too good to pass up.  However, waiting to see how much cases rise on summer sailings before making a final decision.

We are doing the same itinerary June 19.  Would you please confirm which nights are formal nights?  Glad to hear you are having a good time!  Can't wait for our turn!  🙂

The Ba.1 variant "symptoms" for most people are indistinguishable from allergies or colds. At least initially. Typically progress to be a bit closer to flu like symptoms.   And people think because they are vaccinated they won't catch COVID.  So they don't give much thought to mask " protection".  Btu even for colds or flu, quality masks can help alleviate the spread.

Europe has had more restrictions than the US, but the US tends to go into a panic over the least rise in cases, whereas Europeans are learning to adjust and live with it.

Could you post the weekly entertainment schedule please?

Or at least some comments on the shows/entertainments themselves as typically performance schedules and performers change over time.

Also if you wouldn’t mind posting photos of the Cruise Compasses, unless too inconvenient.  Want you to enjoy your cruise most importantly and stay healthy.  TYIA.

I’ve been following someone on Facebook who has posted these which might be useful. Also bear in mind it’s been mentioned that the Effectors 2 is coming in the summer so I’d possibly expect some changes.
