LaCal Posted May 30, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 30, 2022 Check out the Crab House in Icy Strait Point They didn’t have King Crab so we got the Snow crab and it was the Best and sweetest crab ever…..Plus a lot cheaper than King crab…..you won’t be disappointed In Juneau we had King Crab at Tracy’s crab shack and while it was good I’d give the edge to the snow crab at Icy 1

Cruiser1976 Posted May 30, 2022 #8 Share Posted May 30, 2022 Have a great cruise! I'll be on this same sailing in Aug with a large group with some questions if you have time! 1. Is Starwater the only show that needs to be booked when you board? 2. Can the free Northstar and iFly options be booked when you board on the app or can you only book those day of? I was recently on the Odyssey and you could book the free options on the first day of the cruise but i've seen conflicting info here for Quantum. 3. The Noodle place on the pool deck. I know it's not actually a noodle place for the Alaska sailings, however, is the food they serve included? 4. For dinner in the Solarium, is that an additional charge and do you have to make reservations? 5. I see on the deck plans in the esplanade area (Deck 5) that there is a Japanese Pharmacy. No idea what that even is. Do you know what's there for these cruises? 6. How crowded do the indoor and Solarium pools get, especially on sea days? Thanks!! All other shows are first come first serve 2. Yes. All days. Sells out fast. see below. 3. See below. 4. No reservations. That being said, we have been disappointed every time we have gone to the solarium for dinner on every ship. The food is held too long and has been inedible.

I know it's not actually a noodle place for the Alaska sailings, however, is the food they serve included? The Noodle Shop did have open hours on the May 16th sailing and had a menu consisting of five items: fish & chips, chicken fingers & chips, beef satay, chicken satay and some kind of chowder. I never actually saw anyone eating there but had heard the beef satay was nasty. Most of the time, the outer area was used as a pop up shop, selling Alaska blankets, hats, jackets, etc. I wish they had kept the Noodle Shop menu instead. Starwater was in rehearsal on our sailing and we saw the rehearsal twice. It looks like a magnificent show. The female lead singer is amazing! I would definitely not miss that show.

Looking forward to following along and bookmarking for future reference as I'm planning to try again in 2023...

There was a line, but it moved quickly. Vaccine card: not checked COVID Card: checked once Passport: checked / photographed twice ArriveCAN: not checked. Waiting area a disorganized mess and just a mob when boarding started. SetSail Pass scanned to leave the terminal. Then SeaPass scanned by security at the top of the gangway. 1
