@kazu  Jacqui, I saw what that person said to you yesterday, and I totally agree with what @Seasick Sailor Joy said about it.  That is why I stay off the main board a lot and post even less.

I almost never turn away from a thread unless I lose interest in the topic.  I have found CC's "Ignore User" function has had very beneficial effects on my blood pressure.  Fortunately, I have never had to ignore any dailyites and our preferences are different but I highly recommend that function.

@dfish  IMO that baby is a Madeliene. She is so cute.  Oliver, I saw 4 months, and thought this baby is standing up like a little man, with his hand in the pockets reaching for the keys, but then I saw he was lying down...

@durangoscots  Yeah, the roof does not leak...boo about the covid, I know you have been struggling with staffing recently.  I keep hearing through my calls to the outside world, people are getting covid again,  and people are getting covid following their vaccinations and boosters. grrrrr

@rafinmd I will need to check out the ignore button every time I go on the Carnival site, and that's who my next cruise is with.  So recently I've just been ignoring their threads all together.  I would never ignore any of you, you all make me smile, and I feel hugged.

I just saw that Jaws was released today in 1975.  I disagree.  It was playing on Cape Cod the summer before, (1974)and my friends and i had to decide whether to see a movie about being eaten by something down the street, or having the poop scared out of us by watching the Exorcist.  We chose the Exorcist, either way one of us (not me) was too young to be shown either one, and her father (who I worked for) read me the riot act.

Ok, baby picture time.  This little lady still does not have a name.  They are taking their time.

And here is Oliver.  He is getting big so quickly!  Four months old.

Debbie, they are two very cute kids.

It won't go on the list but I have a bit of a celebration.  Luggage Forward picks up the big bag for my QM2 cruise July 1 Wednesday, and today I basically finished getting it packed.  There may be an adjustment or 3 but I could easily send it just as it is.

So far, I have not found the need to use the ignore button, since I usually lose interest in threads that get really nasty.  But, I will keep it in mind.  I guess my tolerance may be higher.  While I don’t  like the rude or snarky comments on CC, they are generally much milder than what I've seen on FB.  Still, there is no need to be rude when someone is try to be helpful or stating an opinion.

Have a great time at the Fair.  Happy packing.  It is so exciting getting ready for a cruise.

How’s Mom doing?

Terri

Mom is doing great, thank for asking. She’s enjoying her visit in NorCal, attending  grandchildren’s graduations, birthday parties, and sightseeing. The wheelchair is a real blessing.

Today’s nurse arrived fairly late. We were both quite anxious already. Tests taken and at 9:30 the doctor called to tell me I was still positive. I handed the phone to DH because I am beyond frustrated. DH told me last night if he was negative and I positive again he was going to stay with me. But he didn’t have to make that choice - he’s positive too!  If we could get some fresh air it might help but we’ve been cooped up in this obstructed oceanview for way too long. Doctor told DH I will be tested again tomorrow and if positive still they will release me Thursday.

This is so depressing😢

Meanwhile someone was just released and walked past our door. He mentioned he was a crew member. Lucky guy!

So sorry to hear this 😥.  Was really hoping both of you would get “sprung” today.  How nice of DH to offer to stay with you ❣️

Oh, NO! Not still! And, what a shame not to be in your own balcony cabin.

@StLouisCruisers I am so sorry to hear this.  It is beyond frustrating.  I tested positive for 9 days before I finally had a negative test. I agree that having a room with a balcony would make all the difference in the world,

Princess has to have a better system.

When do you disembark?

Terri we don’t get off until Wednesday the 29th. This is the half of the cruise where I had new ports to visit so it seems like a cruel punishment.

Having been through this on Oceania I recall how kind they were to you and your DH. The Doctor doesn’t sound the least bit sorry to give me the disappointing news. 😢

@StLouisCruisers  Sandi, oh wow.  I'm so sorry you both tested positive -- again.  That was so nice of your DH to make the offer.  As many balcony cabins as Island Princess has, it's hard to believe they couldn’t set some of them aside for the quarantine area.  Fingers crossed 🤞 that tomorrow is the day.

Oh Sandi I have just read your news and I am so sorry for you both.

Locked in a cabin with no fresh air is awful especially when you paid for a balcony cabin.

I sincerely hope you are both negative tomorrow.

Kindest regards.

Graham.

I feel for you!  I'd be self-medicating, too!  Sorry it happened, hope you're alright and didn't get burned.

Thanks. I wasn't injured. The Pinot Noir also helped with the irritation from a visit to Target for a CVS prescription and food for the Junior Cat (and more rice). A trainee cashier wanted to throw away a gift card that still had value remaining; when I stopped him, the trainer stepped in and demanded proof that the card still had value. They print the remaining balance on the register tape, and she insisted on seeing it. I don't blame the trainee, because the customer before me had paid with a gift card plus cash, but it made me wonder whether Target is instructing cashiers to throw away gift cards even if they're not used up.

I didn’t notice your answer until now in my sleeplessness.  I really hope that you test negative on Wednesday and get to see some of the new ports.

Yes, Oceania treated us well.  But like you, we took that cruise because there were a number of new ports for us.  We missed most of them because of Covid.  So as kind as they were, it did not make up for the quarantine.  I do hope you will get some money back.  We were reimbursed for the days we were in quarantine.  I was surprised that the amount was so generous.

I have my fingers crossed for Wednesday.

Today, Wednesday the 22nd I tested negative. DH is still positive and wouldn’t even consider letting me hang out with him in quarantine. So I packed up and after a call to the front desk I was allowed to just walk out the door and back to my cabin with no escort. My Medallion didn’t work to unlock my door so my room steward let me in. The Medallion appears to be working now though. I’ve been outside breathing in fresh air several times but it is so cold out there. I know many of you would appreciate lower temps at home but probably not this cold!

I had a rough night with my tummy issues so am rather weak and tired but I hope to get a small bite to eat and perhaps take a stroll around Gravdal. I wish it wasn’t a tender port but we can’t have everything. Believe me, I am grateful to be out of jail.  During my quarantine all the tender ports used the tender outside my window including today. At 6:12 am we were awakened with all racket!  And every day workers would be outside my window working on it and making tons of noise. I’m not sure why the same three tenders (6, 11, and 12) were used every time. Let us pray ALL tenders are in good working condition!🙏🏻

Going up to find something to eat and drink now. Thanks to all for their prayers and support. Also thanks to Lenda for posting my photos of Rouen. You all are great!

Delighted to hear you are finally out of quarantine Sandi.

Hopefully your husband will be negative tomorrow.

Take care and stay safe if you are feeling unwell.

Best wishes.

Graham.

Glad to hear you are finally out!  🤞that DH is out tomorrow.

Our medallions quit working a few days ago and we had to get new ones from guest services.  I understand the batteries are only good for a limited time.

Good to hear you are out.  Was DH 1 day later than you?  Does he get out Friday regardless of test?

Roy, I’ve given up trying to figure out their edicts. It depends on who you talk to. I’m just hoping for the first opportunity. He seems to feel well so that’s good news.
