Sunshineliving Posted July 18, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2022 Currently on the Rotterdam and did not a get the blue bag. Got them on March and Dec. Anyone hear if they are not giving them out?
vicd1969 Posted July 18, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) Maybe HAL feels it's an area to cut costs since there are no beaches to take the blue bags to in Norway 😉. That said, they did give out the Club Orange bags in my June Rotterdam sailing. Have you tried asking your cabin attendant for one? I like them to take things up to the cabana. Oh well.
Rare Mary229 Posted July 18, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2022 I have gotten them. The last cruise I did not get it the first day.
aliaschief Posted July 18, 2022 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2022 Like previously posted just ask cabin steward. If they haven’t run out they should be able to get you one.
Rare albingirl Posted July 18, 2022 #7 Share Posted July 18, 2022 I miss the old canvas bags. The plastic bags they have now are.....plastic. Maybe they are cutting back for the environment. Right. 2
saltshell Posted July 18, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2022 I always pack my old canvas bag. Very versatile ; always gets comments. Sailed club orange and left unused bags in cabin at departure.

SilvertoGold Posted July 18, 2022 #10 Share Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) We received ones on the Koningsdam in April and May and on the Zuiderdam in June. Ugly plastic but they come in handy for storage. Edited July 18, 2022 by SilvertoGold

This bag did prevent some plastic from going into the dump the first time. It's going to take some time and there are lots of steps before we can get people to give up their plastic. Just look at the people on CC that lament the loss of plastic water bottles. Some cannot even wrap their head around bringing their own drinking bottle to be used with the clean, filtered water available onboard. I get it and I'm onboard with conservation. There are many, many more offenders than a recycled bag from HAL. 4

I live by the ocean and see the damage it can do to wildlife, not to mention fishing netting and hooks. It's a regular tragedy.

It is tragic and shortsighted what we do to animals that we need in this world. 2

Cruise Suzy Posted July 18, 2022 #22 Share Posted July 18, 2022 Sailed from Seattle yesterday on the Westerdam. Received one this morning. So did DS - haven't seen DD yet today, but figure she received one as well.
idiebabe Posted July 18, 2022 #23 Share Posted July 18, 2022 We didn't receive one on Eurodam on 5/27 Sailing. Also, never received the Journey's Booklet at the end of the Cruise nor the "Mariner" Drink Card. All our other Cruises since the Restart received all the above items.
