Beer. It tastes good. Any bartender can quickly provide it. Any waiter can bring me one. My table mates don't cool their heels while I decide which white wine we want. "Oh, you want the beef, dear? Well, let me check the reds. I was looking forward to the fish. Sure you want the beef?'" Then the table mates can cool their heels some more while the wine steward goes through the bottle opening theater with the cork sniffing and tasting and all.

Cocktails? You can ask for something odd like a Fawlty Towers or a Tequila Flat and then complain that the bartender didn't know how to make it or did not have the right brand of gin/brandy/vodka/scotch or tonic/soda.

Keep it simple. Beer. It's not just for breakfast anymore.

My favorite drink to get is the Frosty Chocolate Mint Buzz.  Think alcoholic chocolate mint shake.  YUM!  The picture is from pre-covid cruise, but they still will make them!

It’s a weng weng.  Here’s the link…

It’ll knock you to the floor!  I’d advise against using your beverage limit on them!  😵💫

Just Wow, I thought the pain killer was bad.

I'm like CrystalSpin...love the painkiller its my FAV; but I hate those calories drinking 2/day ... pants don't fit after a week, well it could be that good food too....

Also very filling! I usually start my sea-day afternoon with ONE painkiller, then switch to "Captain on a Diet" with lime (an almost no-carb Cuba Libre). Later to the driest wine for dinner.

I tend to be loyal, so once I find something I like I don't venture out.  I liked the fact that different bars had different drinks, so here was my pattern:

* Lido & Panorama Bar - The Bohemian

* Ocean Bar - Miami Beach Spritz

* Billboard - Strongbow on tap

* Explorations Cafe - Caramel Lattes (oh, you said alcoholic...my bad)

* Every dinner - Chianti (only one brand was on ship...at least that the Signature Beverage Plan would cover).

* It was on the Dutch Cafe menu, but it wasn't available on the Koningsdam in June - Lindeman's Kriek and Framboise.  Would have drank enough to make my pancreas fall out.

* Most of the bars had Amstel Light in bottles, for when I needed to detox from the sugar.

Oh, and my favorite non-alcoholic beverage...so much so we found the recipe online and replicated it at home - Ginger Mango Splash.

Mine was also the Pusser’s Painkiller, until I had two on the NA in March that tasted awful. Not sure what was missing, but they were definitely bad. Maybe they had to substitute something.

I don’t think I would have noticed the 2nd one, my mouth was numb after the 1st one.

For day: HAL's special Bloody Mary (with Grey Goose); half & half V-8 and clamato juice, worcestershire, hot sauce, celery seed, pepper; they gussy it up, but i only let them garnish with olives.

For night: the Ritz in the Ocean Bar, kind of like a Sidecar

Plus of course excellent wine with dinner

And a frou frou boat drink the first day, usually a Blue Hawaiian  Painkillers are great too, followed by a nap...

That picture was from a bar menu in the Crow's Nest (now the Explorer's Lounge).  I was able to order it at any bar while onboard the Nieuw Amsterdam this past December.  Well, any bar that I ordered from, which was the Lido bar and Casino bar primarily.

Thanks for posting, couldn't remember what went in one. It looks like a lot of booze but it's only 2 oz. Very refreshing on a hot day. You do not want to drink a whole bunch at on time.
