Loving this review.  It really makes me want to cruise the Legend. Never been but have done Pride multiple times and Miracle once.  I really enjoy all Patti's picture of the ship.

Wondered if you tried the buffalo shrimp at the seafood shack?

Thanks for reading, glad to have you aboard. Have had the buffalo shrimp, but it's not really spicy until you spice it up yourself. I'll be showing a picture later in the review. :classic_cool:

I've tried the buffalo shrimp at the Seafood Shack- all it is is fried shrimp with spicy coctail sauce... nothing 'buffalo' about it. I have tried Seafood Shack my last 4 cruises- I keep hoping it gets better but it always leaves me disappointed. The lobster role is full of mayo- I prefer the buttered roll instead. Oh well, first world problems, as they say.

Day # 2 – 8/29/22  -  Sea Day # 1.

We were up at 6:30 am to a beautiful day and sunrise…..

IMG_4560-X2.jpg

These are the views forward and aft, as the Carnival Legend heads towards Bermuda…..

IMG_4568-X2.jpg

IMG_4569-X2.jpg

The seas are very calm…..

IMG_4570-X2.jpg

Here are today’s “Fun Times”……

IMG_4556-X2.jpg

IMG_4557-X2.jpg

We really don’t have any set plans for today, except to relax. That’s the best thing about doing back to back cruises. You don’t feel like you have to be doing something every minute of the day. Around 8:30 we decide to go to the Sea Day Brunch. We check in on the app, and it’s less than a 10 minute wait. It didn’t even take that long, and soon we were seated at table # 146…..

IMG_4576-X2.jpg

The first order of business was to get our free brunch drinks…..

IMG_4578-X2.jpg

IMG_4579-X2.jpg

Patti had a tomato and cheddar omelet with fries and turkey bacon…..

IMG_4581-X2.jpg

I had the 12 hour French toast with sausage and hash browns….

IMG_4582-X2.jpg

Afterwards, we decided to head over to the Lobby Bar for a drink. Patti got a few pictures of Bonsai Sushi on the way. We will be eating there later in the cruise…..

IMG_4583-X2.jpg

IMG_4584-X2.jpg

IMG_4608-X2.jpg

I recognize the bartender at the Lobby Bar from our cruise on the Panorama. He was working at the Tides Bar there. His name is Ramil…..

IMG_4586-X2.jpg

IMG_4587-X2.jpg

Ramil tells me that there are a couple other bartenders from our Panorama cruise working here on the Legend. Omer, who worked at Pig & Anchor on the Panorama, is working at the Alchemy Bar. Angela, who we knew well because she worked the Havana Bar on the Panorama, is working at the Casino Bar. We can’t wait to say hello to them. These are the beers on tap at the Lobby Bar. I’m not a fan of the Birthday Beer…..

IMG_4596-X2.jpg

Patti has her usual Mocha Chocolate Getaway…..

IMG_4595-X2.jpg

I’m going with an Angry Orchard with a shot of Fireball…..

IMG_4597-X2.jpg

Here are the Lobby Bar menus…..

Patti heads off to claim her $25 cash from the casino, and then check put the shops. She gets these pictures of the Senior Staff aboard the Carnival Legend…..

IMG_4613-X2.jpg

IMG_4614-X2.jpg

IMG_4607-X2.jpg

Keeping the ATM full…..

IMG_4612-X2.jpg

I have a couple more drinks with Ramil at the Lobby Bar, and then head over to the casino to play blackjack for a couple of hours. This time I won a little bit, so I’m back up to even. I went over to the casino bar to say hello to Angela, and we got to talk for a little bit.

By now it was after 1 pm, so I went back to the cabin to find Patti. We went up to the Lido for lunch. I love Chopsticks, so I got my lunch from there, while Patti made herself a salad. Afterwards, we went back to the cabin to relax on our balcony, and nap until it was time for dinner.

Tonight, is Cruise Elegant Night so we decide to go to Truffle’s Restaurant for lobster dinner. We checked in on the Hub App at 6:10, and again it said a less than 10 minute wait. 50 minutes later, we were seated by the window at table # 304…..

IMG_4616-X2.jpg

Here are tonight’s menus…..

IMG_4617-X2.jpg

IMG_4620-X2.jpg

Looking outside we can see it is raining…..

Patti starts with the spaghetti carbonara as an appetizer, and a Caesar salad…..

IMG_4624-X2.jpg

IMG_4627-X2.jpg

I start with the pork tarts and a shrimp cocktail. Look at the portion size on both of mine. Not complaining, just pointing it out…..

IMG_4625-X2.jpg

IMG_4626-X2.jpg

We both had the lobster for our mains……

IMG_4628-X2.jpg

For dessert Patti had the Crème Brulee, and I had the coffee cream cake…..

IMG_4629-X2.jpg

IMG_4630-X2.jpg

The food tonight was just fine, but the service was really slow. We didn’t leave the dining room until 8:30.

Tonight, the Playlist Production show was “Motor City”, and Jim was holding court over at the Piano Bar. We decided to watch a set of the Electric Violins with In Trio at the Lobby Bar…..

IMG_4631-XL.jpg

IMG_4632-X2.jpg

Afterwards, Patti went back to the cabin to read, while I went to the Casino Bar to have a couple with Angela. Here she is……

IMG_4633-X2.jpg

She took a picture of me…..

At 10 pm I decide to head over to the comedy club for the 10:30 show. The Punchliner Comedy Club is in the Firebird Lounge on Deck 1, all the way forward. There are three comedians on this cruise, Randy Kagan, Matt Sadler, and the comedian I’m watching tonight, Kier. I suggest getting here a half hour before showtime if you want to get a decent seat. I sat at the bar in back, and had a great sightline to the stage……

IMG_4640-X2.jpg

This is the Comedy Host Kate……

IMG_4646-X2.jpg

IMG_4644-X2.jpg

Kier on stage…..

He was pretty good. I would give him a 7.5 out of 10. Afterwards, it was back to the cabin for the night. Here is tonight’s towel animal and our invites to the Diamond Event tomorrow…….

Excellent review as always thank you for always sharing your journey with us! Makes the time to the next cruise go so much faster!

Glad to see Gabe as a cruise director, he was on the Mardi Gras with us as part of the fun squad and he was adorable!

LOL!🤣  I actually laughed out loud when I saw Carnival's latest manifestation of Shrimp Cocktail!  I showed DH and he said "They should serve it in smaller dishes".🤣  Thank you for the laughs.  I know to order two, now.

That is quite possibly the youngest looking Captain I've ever seen.

Great guy! We actually got to see him in person on the second leg. The Captain's toast on the first Cruise Elegant Night has been brought back. 😎

Speaking of portion sizes….   We were on the Freedom last week and equally puzzled and amused by the tiny bit of butter given to each couple to share.  After the first round of bread, it was hidden away and never offered again.  We had a really good cruise, but thought the rationing of butter was a bit strange.

Hi. Sailed on the same 2nd leg of your cruise the Canada/NE leg. E joying your review and pictures will be anxiously awaiting your thoughts about that Canada/NE portion of your B2B. We had table 240 downstairs in the Truffles dining room where I found most of the food quite good. But the prime rib was very fatty. We were in cabin 5134 just a few doors down from you we also had Kris as our room steward thought he did a great job. Wasn't happy with Gabe the cruise director. If he previously was on the Mardi Gras as part of the fun squad think that's where he should have stayed. Didn't find him at all ready to be a cruise director. Thanks for your review.

Small world. We walked by your cabin a gazillion times. :classic_biggrin:  Kris was excellent for us. We had no problem with Gabe, probably because we had quite a bit of interaction with him. Yes, he was very rough around the edges, and he has a lot to learn, but you have to start somewhere. We hope he pans out.  :classic_cool:

@Jamman54 Angry Orchard has two new flavors for fall: Hardcore Dark Cherry and Apple Pie.  The Apple Pie is really good.

Haven't seen them yet. I'll have to give them a try. The Apple Pie sounds Fireball friendly! :classic_biggrin:

You always get the shrimp cocktail and you always post pictures.  I thought maybe you had eaten half and then remembered to take a picture!  I'm really missing spirit class ships seeing these pictures.  I love those walk arounds on deck 3.

I remember when 3 shrimp WAS half! :classic_biggrin:

Day # 3 – 8/30/22  -  Sea Day # 2.

We were up at 6 am to a crappy looking day. The skies are pretty cloudy, and there are a few sprinkles of rain. We did manage to get a few sunrise pictures before the skies really clouded up. Here is the view from our balcony looking forward and aft…..

IMG_4665-X2.jpg

IMG_4667-X2.jpg

Today’s sunrise…..

Here are today’s “Fun Times”…..

IMG_4661-X2.jpg

IMG_4662-X2.jpg

Today’s segment is going to be pretty short as it seems that the camera was put away for most of the day, probably resting up for tomorrow’s arrival in Bermuda!

Around 9:30 we made our way up to the Lido for breakfast. Patti got herself an omelet…..

IMG_4688-X2.jpg

IMG_4689-X2.jpg

I went to the Blue Iguana Cantina and got myself a breakfast burrito…..

After breakfast, Patti was going to the Early Card Sales for this afternoon’s Win a Cruise Bingo, browse the shops, and then relax. I went over to the Red Frog Rum bar to hang out with Argee for a few drinks.

Feeling lazy, I went back to the cabin to relax and work on pictures. Patti soon joined me there.

At 1:30 we made our way to the Follies Theater to watch Celebrity Heads hosted by CJ. The theater was split into two teams, with one person from each team up on stage. CJ held up a card with a celebrities name on it, and the audience gave their team member on stage hints to help them guess the celebrity. It got pretty wild. This was the first time Patti and I had seen this…..

IMG_4695-X2.jpg

IMG_4696-X2.jpg

After this it was time for Win a Cruise Bingo…….

IMG_4697-X2.jpg

Here are the prices for the various bingo packages……

IMG_4359-X2.jpg

We came within a number a couple of times, but no luck…..

IMG_4698-X2.jpg

IMG_4699-X2.jpg

Afterwards, Patti was feeling hungry so she went up to the Deli for a turkey wrap. Here is the Deli menu…..

IMG_4709-X2.jpg

I went to the casino to play blackjack for a couple of hours, breaking even for the session. I made my way to the Alchemy Bar, where I said hello to Omer, and he made me a couple of Pain Reliefs. Then I made my way back to the cabin, where we hung out until it was time for the Diamond Event.

At 7 pm we made our way to Billie’s Piano Bar for this week’s Diamond Gathering. I believe there were about 50 diamonds aboard for this sailing…..

IMG_4700-X2.jpg

There were plenty of snacks and drinks…..

IMG_4703-X2.jpg

IMG_4704-X2.jpg

Guest Services Manager Vania, Hotel Director Paul, and Cruise Director Gabe, made the rounds and visited all the tables. Here is a blurry shot of Patti and Gabe…..

IMG_4702-X2.jpg

Here is the free picture that they took of us…..

IMG_4701-X2.jpg

The party lasted about an hour. Afterwards, Patti and I went up to Lido for a bite. I decided to try the Seafood Corner. I had the buffalo shrimp, which aren’t like the buffalo shrimp you and I are used too, but they were pretty good…..

IMG_4706-X2.jpg

I also had the lobster roll. I prefer my lobster roll to be just butter, which was not an option, but it was okay, though a bit skimpy…..

IMG_4707-X2.jpg

Patti chose to have mozzarella sticks and fried rice that she grabbed from the buffet line…..

IMG_4705-X2.jpg

Tonight’s Playlist Production Show was “The Brits”. The Electric Violins are playing in the Red Frog Pub, Variety Music with Katherine & Marcus at the Lobby Bar, and Acoustic Jams with Darren Scott at the Alchemy Bar. Jim is still holding court at the Piano Bar. In the Comedy Club, Randy Kagan has the early “PG” show, and Kier has the late “R”show.

After walking around the ship we head back to the cabin for the night. Here is tonight’s towel animal…..

Well, it was crappy when we got up, and then it got like the pictures showed for about twenty minutes, and then it got crappy again. :classic_laugh:
