B2B question on getting off boat after first sailing?

Hi, I am looking at possibly doing a B2B on Adventure of the Seas this coming May. I have never done a B2B before. Do you have to get off the boat when it comes back into port? I am guessing you don't have to pack up etc. (unless you are changing cabins lol. Wonder how that works.

Thanks !!

We have had to meet around 9 am near customer service.  They walk you off as a group. Sometimes no wait, sometimes a wait then back on. Last time they passed out new cards in the dining room where we meet.

Often there is a special b2b lunch so keep your ears open.

There will be a b2b letter in your cabin with instructions.

I just did a B2B on Wonder. We met at the MDR at 9 AM where they checked us in and gave us new SeaPass cards. We then ended up waiting there for about 30 minutes. After that they led us all off the ship where we used our old SeaPass card when departing the ship.  We waited in the main terminal area for 5 minutes at the most, then we were the first to board using our new SeaPass card with a huge wedding party boarding right behind us.

B2B work slightly differently every time. But normally you CAN disembark the ship as the first person if you get in line early, then reembark as a regular passenger coming onboard. In this case take your passport and documents.

other than that follow the instructions letter that you receive.

I did a B2B on Adventure in October.  All b2b passengers were to meet at the Imperial Lounge where there was a customs agent.  They just confirmed ID and that was it.  We hung out in the lounge until it was time to disembark.  When it was time, we went out the back gangplank.  They took all our cards, but returned it later.  We were given new ones and entered the front gangplank.  We never had to exit the building or even go back to the first floor.

They give you instructions on what to do.  It was pretty easy.  If you're unsure, just let guest services know that you're on a b2b just in case, but they should know.

We had the same room, so we could go back to our room if we wanted.

B2B procedures can be different from one cruise to another even on the same ship and embarkation port. You will receive a detailed letter in your cabin a day or two prior to your TAD for your specific cruise. Everything will be explained in that letter. If there is a TAD meeting prior to your TAD I recommended you attend that. A lot of good info and an excellent opportunity to ask your TAD questions.

Yes - have met Super Mario in lounge waiting to get back on as he had disembarked early to go home to get a change of clothes and brought his fresh clothes back on.

Recently I did a B2B out of FLL, when I departed the ship was given an "In transit Card" to be used upon my return.  Wow, do you get some looks and comments when you pass all the lines, an employee escorted to security were there was a special scanner for our purchases then we were free to board the ship, very E-Z.

You also get a stern talking to by some staff when you attempt to return to your cabin early. My wife and two other family members opened the door to the stateroom hallway around 1250, only to be rude ly told to wait by an officer in the hallway. I explained that we were back to back guests and she looked at my cousin and friend and rudely said "What about them?" I told her that they were with me.

There were around 125 B2B cruisers. I just wish that the staff would think about that before addressing guests with a bad attitude. All she had to do was ask if we were B2B and there wouldn't have been an issue. And before anyone says it...I u derstand that they have to deal with rude guests and I appreciate that, but, there was no reason to shoot first and ask questions later.

Cheers!

Don't let the captain hear you calling his ship a "boat".  😉

Enjoy your first B2B...we pretty much do all our cruises as B2Bs...and more.

Currently on TAD right now on Voyager.  Two more "go rounds" yet left to go.

Cheers. 🍷

Why would you care about looks and comments. You are not doing anything wrong, in fact, you were following RCCL guidelines.

I’ve taken at least 30 sets of back-to-back cruises. I’ve been questioned in the hallway, maybe twice. I’ve shown my in transit  pass and have immediately gotten a very warm. “welcome back on board“.

I’ve never been questioned by anyone who was servicing the rooms. Two times in all of our back to backs, we were questioned  was by deck supervisor. Once the supervisors  learned, we were back to back, it was no issue at all.

I never have a problem being questioned, as the staff are simply doing their job. Once I show them the pass, it is no issue at all.

Though one day on TAD while waiting to reboard Harmony, we consecutive cruisers were all seated towards the front inside the terminal (which is odd, since they usually separate us).  When they signaled to have us start boarding, the rush of "The Key" pax was unreal.  They started yelling and stamping their feet that they should be the first to board.  Yikes.  🙄

Same with us.  Mostly the cabin attendants,  furiously running around getting cabins ready,  already know us .....giving us a wave and smile.

Of course today, since we had such a horrible time getting our luggage last Sunday (unusual)....I just had to tease our cabin attendant..."Hey...where is our luggage?"   Yeah, he had a good laugh on that one.  😄

I would have said laughing, the line starts behind us. 😂

I am wondering if it was then the Key next, or suites, or Pinnies.  Didn't witness any flames coming up from behind us...so not sure how it went.  😄

I have zero problem being questioned. I have a serious problem with the way this officer yelled at me and my family. There is no need to speak to anyone in the manner in which we were spoken to.

She wasn't doing her job, she was taking out her turn-around-day frustration on us and it was uncalled for. Read my past posts...I have always been very complimentary of the cruise lines and crew members in general. I gave out over $1,000 in cash tips during the last 14 days in addition to the pre-paid gratuities. I don't need someone implying that I am the problem.

While we have usually had good experiences, it has happened several times where we were accused of doing something wrong.

There have been many threads and discussions where people think it's perfectly fine for THEM to sneak into their rooms early to drop their stuff off, because they are just 1 or 2 people, so they can't possibly be a bother to the room stewards trying to turn all the cabins. So I am more than willing to give this officer the benefit of the doubt at snapping at anyone that opens the cabin hall doors prior to the announcement. My first thought would have been to wonder how many other people tried to get to their rooms early before you opened the door, B2B or not. And honestly, how much you paid or tipped is completely irrelevant here.
