Question about DOU casino offer

Hi

We booked a cruise using under my husbands casino offer that had DOU for him. At the time I had the same offer and thought ( and was told by our PVP) that I would also get DOU. I emailed the casino dept since I couldn't find proof of what offers I had at the time and ( finally) got a reply saying that we booked under his offer and at this time casino comps cannot be combined. Has anyone had experience with this?

In my experience, if you both have the same offer (let's say the offer is code FCL, FCL has to appear in both of your profiles) then you both will get drinks. If not, then only the person who received the offer and booked the cruise will get drinks. There are also offers that say "DOU for you and a companion" but it doesn't sound like that applies here.

You can speak to the casino host once onboard and see if comps can be extended to you initially, or if you will need to earn them through play first.

Yes, up to and including our last cruise, the casino has been honoring both of our casino deals - both the DOU and the additional funplay. Like @mz-s mentioned, we have had the same exact deals/rate codes applicable to the same exact cruises. I was surprised that Carnival does this, but it has been obviously much appreciated. We have this situation for the rest of our booked cruises through 2023 and kind of expect it to continue but would not be surprised if it did not - the way I read the T&Cs, it's not explicitly set up this way.

Yes we both had the same offer but I forgot to screen shot it as proof. This is the reply I got

Our records indicate you claimed a Players Become Savers Limited Time Casino offer aboard the Carnival Panorama 2023-04-15.

This offer includes the Drinks On Us! valid for your use only while playing in the casino.

Additional casino comps cannot be combined at this time. On your cruise, our Casino staff will provide you with onboard comps based on your level of play.
This didn't address the fact that we both had the same offer..or maybe they have changed the policy, it seems a bit unclear?

It needs to be actually applied not just assumed.

To me it sounds like they misunderstood your request and answered a question that wasn't asked.

In my experience you both will get DOU as you both had the same offer for the cruise. If you wish, email them again and ask specifically that question - one sentence, simple question. Or wait until you're onboard and speak to the casino host.

At the time of booking you have to have your PVP apply your code to yours ( just like she applied your husbands code to his).  If that wasn’t done at the time of booking, you can’t go back and apply the code at a later date. The code offered has a expiration date to use it by. I just booked a cruise where I had FCL code and my husband’s offer was FCK, both drinks on us in casino. My PVP had to type in each of our codes for us.

I will email our PVP and see if he did that. However I have heard from others if you just show some sort of proof that you had that offer at the time ( like a screenshot) that they would honor it even if it hadn't officially been applied to the booking

I hope that a screenshot will work for you. We just got off a 14 Miracle Hawaii cruise and I had DOU in casino and my husband didn’t. When booking my next cruise in Nov. I made sure my PVP entered both of our codes, and before hanging up confirmed again we both had DOU.  On the Miracle, they did let me order a drink for my husband, I just had to wait 5 minutes after ordering my drink.  Kind of a pain, since they don’t come around that often. My next cruise, I made sure we both had it.

Good luck!

Update..I emailed our PVP just to see and his reply was

"I verified all 3 reservations and at the time of making the reservation you both qualified for the same offer. I also documented each reservation with date and time stamp of when these offers were booked."

So hopefully that will be enough! Also, our PVP is the best

Should there be an issue onboard, have the casino contact your PVP

The next time a couple gets identical casino offers, book two solo rooms. Adjoining if you want.... There usually are no solo surcharges on casino offers.

I cruise solo a lot and my “free” casino offers require me to pay for two guests (usually $100 x 2, which I get back in OBC) and pay port taxes/fees for one. Maybe other people’s offers are different.

I cruise solo on casino offers and pay cruise fare for two.

Ok I really need to know if this is true...because It would be a dream to have adjoining cabins with hubby...my own bathroom..no snoring???

If it is a truly free cruise you pay taxes only for whoever goes, this is the bill. $200 deposit which is returned as an OBC and taxes for 1 person. This is Alaska on the Spirit Sept 3/24 in an Ocean Suite with DOU everywhere and free play.

My daughter and son-in-law both have casino offers. My daughters includes some OBC so that it the one we booked using. When I asked the person making the reservations (the casino department) about noting my son-in-laws DOU offer as well, she said they could not do that since the offers were not identical. I know we have done this in the past with slightly different casino offers. Does anyone know if something has changed or did the casino rep just not know how to do it?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Just tip the server and that person will usually comp your companion. My wife had DOU for her and our server also got me my drinks.

They aren't comping the companion, they are putting the drinks under the one DOU folio.  Servers can't zero out drinks, thy don't enter prices

Make sure you bring a copy of that email with you - just in case.
