We are newbies on Celebrity (75 cruises mostly on Holland America and Carnival) and will be sailing on the March 13, 2024 Ultimate Caribbean and the Americas cruise. The Celebrity smoking policy says there are designated smoking areas on its ships and we are curious where they are on the Constellation? Thanks.

I was just on Constellation this past Oct/Nov.  There were no indoor areas that smoking was permitted including the casino.  I believe the only approved smoking areas were certain outdoor locations on the port side of the ship.  Smoking is not allowed in your cabin or balcony.  This is pretty much the standard experience for our Celebrity cruises in recent memory,

Constellation and her sister, Infinity, enjoying some time together at Nassau.  Nov 4 2022

Also I am linking a Celebrity Today (Dec 2016) issued on the first day of our cruise aboard Infinity (South America itinerary): link.  The smoking policy is declared at the bottom of page 2 (reproduced below).  Smoking was permitted only on Deck 4, Port Side (midship only), Poolside Deck 10 Port Side, and the Port Side of the Mast Bar located on Deck 11.

For comparison (since you are new to Celebrity) here is the smoking policy found aboard Solstice in Dec 2019:

To see the full Celebrity Today issue, here is the link.  You will find the smoking policy declared at the bottom of page 2.

I don't have a scan of the Celebrity Today from our recent Constellation cruise (yet), or I would have just simply posted that to answer your question.

Constellation is a great ship.

Just a quick comment -- Celebrity smoking policies are wonderful for those of us who don't smoke and for those trying to quit the habit.  While Celebrity passengers tend to be very affable, fellow cruisers are not charitable to those trying to cheat.  Those who smoke on their balconies will likely be contacted by Security.

We have never "cheated" on ships' smoking policies and find Northern Aurora's comment totally unwarranted. I hope other Celebrity passengers are more "affable". We have strictly observed other cruise lines' smoking policies for over 30 years of cruising. Maybe choosing Celebrity was a mistake.

We have been cruising for 20+ years. Going on Celebrity Constellation in three weeks and then on the

Silhouette in April on a back to back. I have turned in others for smoking in places they shouldn't and the reason being is that I have Asbestosis which I contracted in the military and am on disability due to it. Next cabin was smoking on balcony in Cozumel and my lungs started to hurt. I turned them in with a phone call from our cabin and they were fined and warned if they did it again they would be escorted off the ship. I t just seems that people don't care for anyone else except themselves. By the way, I'll do it again if I have to.

We were on the Summit (sister ship to the Constellation) last month and the best place to smoke is on Deck 4 port side...covered open area, and pretty much out of the wind.  Most people went up to the pool deck on the port side, and those seats were always in use.  Other area is port side by the bar; but only a few areas to sit.

My husb smokes a cigar daily.. If the weather cooperates,  there are several covered and open  outdoor areas he can visit..depending on the ship..

One space on E class is near the hamburger place,  has nice tables & great views....

Perhaps not as nice as it used to be when Michaels was a premier cigar lounge but times have changed...

There's no reason for choosing sides here as X has  tried to accomodate all... esp with it being smoke free inside the ship..

I was astounded they tried to slip vaping into the casino area...but that went away quickly along with the choc chip cookie stand!

Reading this thread I’m unclear where cigar smoking is allowed on the Constellation.  Anyone in the know?  Not cigarettes…but cigars.

The Mast Bar on Deck 11.

So it has changed from the policy quoted above where it said that the Sunset Bar was the only location cigars are allowed?

If you are referring to post #3, that was referencing cigar and pipe smoking on a Solstice Class ship.  On that class of ship cigar smoking is only allowed at the Sunset Bar.  My question was relating to Constellation, a Millennium Class ship.

I can't believe for a second that any cruise line would allow smoking inside any more.

Are some of them still in the 1970s?
