compman9 Posted March 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2023 A Chinese Malaysian guy on the Spectrum is on his seventh month aboard. Suite on his own, casino every night. According to the Diamond Lounge concierge, he books as he goes along, and hasn't decided when he's getting off yet. Got to Pinnacle in six months, apparently. Must be the quickest anyone has got there, surely?

Some basic math 700/3 = 234 nights as a solo in a suite, so around 8 months. If someone did that run during the double point promo last year, it would have been 1/2 that time.
Cherful59 Posted March 27, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2023 And here I am, hoping my 4 next cruises go as planned so I will get to Diamond+ after July 2025. Pinnacle is far away.

Surprising, perhaps something to do with why RCL is dragging feet on releasing where spectrum is going next year...
Rare twangster Posted March 27, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 27, 2023 I'd love to get a Spectrum block. He must have a couple he would be willing to trade by now. 🤣 1

Actually looked into booking a suite on Brilliance for an entire year, and surprisingly RCL was willing to do that for us as long as we pulled the trigger as soon as the itineraries were released. Any word on what kind of discount they offer for booking something like that compared to sticker?

It's probably even more complicated than I outlined since this person likely cruised some under the double point promo last year.
neverbeenhere Posted March 28, 2023 #11 Share Posted March 28, 2023 Yes, seven months straight would be approximately four months possibly under the double-double jackpot time.

Don't know about long periods, we've never done longer than 4 cruises in a row. All were treated as single cruises and there were no additional perks. We did get a lunch between cruises offered to those on a B2B cruise. On one, we were given a bottle of sparkling wine. By the time we did these cruises we already had some internet/laundry/dining/beverage discounts or perks because of C&A loyalty. Didn't ask for anything. Craps doesnt offer multiples on odds bets on RC which increases house odds. Roulette on all recent RC cruises I have been on was 00 (and even a 0 table opened late night), which is at least as good as the 'odds' you typically see in Vegas and most land based casinos. And those were $5 minimum tables which is less than what you see on land. (Of course big time gamblers wont concern themselves with low minimum roulette but thats a whole other discussion.)

Yes compared to the casinos ive been to in the UK. No 00 on Roulette Split Aces and play each hand separately not limited to 1 card Rubbish side bets, here there is a poker hand type side bet pays 9/1 and honestly all the money ive ever won in the UK has been off that side bet. Casinos at sea ive seen are the worst odds ive ever seen. These small changes push the odds in favour of the house by a few percent in some instances. Casinos on ships ive always seen them as amusement so im baffled when i see people betting big on them.
