Freedom already received the best amp in this class while Liberty remains un-amped.

What else are they bringing to her?

Not sure but I'm counting the days until they put her back on 7 night cruises! I love love LOVE the ship and the amps!

Couldn't these morons have figured this out and PLANNED this? Then just block out the schedule. Or cancel cruises a little further out than 6 months to give people more time? If this were me, I'd just book on another cruise line. RCCL sucks and I only go for the free casino comped at this point. I will NEVER pay for another with them. NCL is far superior with their newer ships nowadays...

It's 18 months out. This is for November/December 2024. But a bunch of us on the boards who are booked on the affected sailings had already figured out that this was coming a couple of months back.

So we have a b2b with the 10/27/2024 and 11/3/2024.  Looks like the first one is definitely okay since it’s one of the replacement cruises.  But do you think the 6 night on 11/3 will be okay?

Another question is whether we want to be on the last cruise before a dry dock.

You're so absolutely right!  The fine folks at NCL would NEVER ruin people's vacation plans like this.

Maybe more cabins. That is RCI's most loved change. Who knows where they will put them.

That ship is still ugly. Why can't NCL fix that?

I didn’t have to click the link to know you were referring to the Norwegian Epic.  What a ghastly looking tub.

Ohhh, I didn't catch that it was for next year, I thought it was for this year. Not as bad, but still...

I think that one will be OK because when the block of November/December cruises went AWOL several months back, that one stayed put and has been there consistently over all this time.

I have been on a cruise that was next but one before dry dock (Navigator) and didn't notice any difference to the experience, although admittedly that was in 2018, so pre-pandemic.

I have never been on a pre-dry-dock cruise myself, but from reading posts from other people on here that have, it sounds like it is possible that they can start on things that can be done while the ship is in service and don't necessarily require the dry dock to do. Like I think people have reported venues (smaller ones?) closing as they start dismantling things, or temporarily closing halls to rip up carpeting, things like that. I image a lot of that has to do with how much time they have in dry dock and how long it takes to accomplish certain projects. If there was a scheduled dry dock, and they are extending it, seems like they won't really be in a time crunch.

Just off the phone to Royal.

Now I have a Cat D2 on Deck 9 on Oasis 30th November 2024.

The difference is £14 port fees.

I'm on Voyager Ta and staying on for the 4 night Thanksgiving cruise. That gets into PC on the 30th, so I'll rent a car and get down to FL for Oasis.

I suppose it has saved me flights.

My family group of 12 lost our 8 night Thanksgiving on Freedom but so far 8 of us have moved over to the 8 night New Years sailing on Oasis.   I was able to move from 2 forward adjoining JS on freedom to connecting JS on the hump, picking exactly the rooms we wanted.   Looking forward to the new Aruba/Curaçao/Coco Cay itinerary and considering it a win given this sailing looks to be about 3x the price we paid if we hadn’t been price protected.

They must be losing a lot of money. All the price protections and missing Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year

Sooo my freedom cruise cruise is supposed to leave December 29th 2024, so far it's not cancelled. It's still for sale online, but the next available cruise after is in February. ....I'm lost itsstill for sale, haven't received a cancellation, am I safe or what 🤷🏻‍♂️ help! Lol

Hard to say. I think they’ll try really hard to stay on schedule, especially since they’re already losing the Christmas and Thanksgiving sailings. Mariner recently had their first post dry dock sailing canceled because the ship wasn’t back in time, so it could happen, but you’re not likely to know until closer to your sail date since they won’t know of any potential delays until she’s actually at the shipyard. It’s really frustrating to plan so far out and be in limbo 🤪

That’s really strange. The way things before and after your sailing are cancelled would indicate yours should be. We were supposed to sail on December 7th. One of the “replacement” sailings we had to pick from is a NYE cruise. I would hope if/when they cancel yours they’ll give you an NYE option. If not, I would be VERY upset.
