Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted September 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2023 Just seems every day I'm surprised by another passenger-unfriendly change. In many cases a flash sale at 40% may be your best bet

Rare DCPIV Posted September 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2023 They really are finding every possible way to silently increase the cost of a cruise without changing the face rate.

I feel that they are changing the face rates as well. Prices continue to rise as services continue to fall.
Mr. Click Posted September 12, 2023 #6 Share Posted September 12, 2023 This has been the case for a while. I tried it for our Bermuda cruise last July and it was no go. In the end I got a "deal" on the July 4 flash sale that beat by CC Elite discount so what this the real value of the CC Elite benefit? 1
Rare PTC DAWG Posted September 12, 2023 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2023 People that have to have internet to leave home will buy it..I think it’s that simple. Thankfully, I’m just not important anymore.
jelayne Posted September 12, 2023 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2023 I have never been able to stack a CC discount with a flash sale rate. I have been able to use the CC discount with the pre cruise price which is usually lower by 5-10%. But not with a 20- 50% off flash sale. For me not a take away, business as usual. 3

Jeremiah1212 Posted September 12, 2023 #10 Share Posted September 12, 2023 There is some verbiage along these lines in emails going back several months. I don't think this is new at all. Labor Day Flash Sale: **Offer applies to bookings made between August 30, 2023 – September 4, 2023 (“Offer Period”), and applies to select sailings departing September 10, 2023 – December 27, 2024, excluding chartered sailings (the “Offer Cruise”). Labor Day Sale (“Offer”) provides per person savings on select new purchases of Drink Packages, Shore Excursions, Specialty Dining, Wi-Fi, Photo, Gifts & Gear, Casino and EFFY Jewelry, and varies by product, ship, and length of voyage. Drink Packages exclude upgrades, Shore Excursions exclude select sailings and tours; Gift & Gear excludes select products and Specialty Dining excludes select sailings. Price shown at time of purchase reflects savings. Additional fees may apply to booking changes or cancellations. Shore Excursions can be cancelled or modified up to 24 hours prior to scheduled tour departure for a full refund, excluding tours involving flights, trains, special events, overnight stays, hotel stays, Extend Your Stay, Multi-day Adventures and Private Journeys. Cancellations will be refunded in the original form of payment; onboard credits will be applied to guest’s account, and credit card, debit card, or other form of cash equivalent payments will be credited back to the original form of payment within 30 days. Offer will not be available onboard and is non-transferable or combinable with Captain Club discounts or any other offer or promotion. VAT is included in price where applicable. Offer is subject to availability and change without notice and may be withdrawn at any time. Refer to https://www.celebritycruises.com/account/signin? for additional terms and conditions. That's specific to flash sales which happen infrequently. In the past, you could call the Capts Club anytime to receive the stacked pre-sail discount and the Capt Club discount

HskrCrsr Posted September 12, 2023 #14 Share Posted September 12, 2023 Captain's Club terms say this: Wi-Fi Discount applied to the total price of the Wi-Fi package or upgrade purchased. Combinable with the pre-cruise advantage only. (https://www.celebritycruises.com/captains-club/enroll#Terms) That suggests they stack in some manner.

They will usually stack it with the normal pre-cruise discount but I found that watching for the flash sales gave me a better deal than the stacking deal. bikerunner Posted September 12, 2023 #16 Share Posted September 12, 2023 I look at it this way, the flash sales are more frequent I noticed now on the wifi upgrades 4 or 5 times I have had these rates. I upgraded on one of my cruises for 3.99 and another 2.99 per day. I would not expect CC discount on the flash sales.
